If Alvida and Buggy had a kid (lol), I imagine labor would go pretty easily. The baby could just slip out. Maybe in one piece, maybe as a construction kit.

If Devil fruits users can actually pass on their abilities to their children, you'd think the world government would take advantage of that and breed an army of power users who don't have the sea's weakness.

That only be the case if the power was notable or extreme. Imagine the Aokiji example - if he had a kid, and all that transferred down was a lower body temperature (cold to touch, more or less unfazed by colder temperatures, potentially sensitive to heat), it wouldn't be that useful. Not worth breeding someone for sure.

@@DBArtsCreators yaa but there is still a small chance that some good power may be passed down like freezing other objects and even if it is 1/10000 chance I think the world government would take it and have special group of people only for breeding .... And also passing down the df power would mean that the world should be full of such people with natural powers coz even if we don't know I bet in 700 years there definitely a lot of people with df that had children.

@@DBArtsCreators What you've listed here is a super soldier who is perfect for the invasion and defense of winter islands. Especially considering some islands have permanent seasons and winter is one, a cold-immune soldier would be immensely helpful.

@@kaustubhvirkar4619 It seems there is a 0% chance of such a power to pass down, from what we're shown. Further, if they restricted a person with such a power for breeding, they'd need to limit their use of the person with the actual fruit (since they'd need to keep them around for breeding). Overall, not the sort of thing you want to do, since there is no notable long-term reward for such breeding, despite the high short-term (and arguably long-term, due to needing to raise the kids) cost.

what if the children actually do get the powers of their parents or at least the gene of it but it is dormant until they eat the same fruit their parents did giving them a greater control over it or a better chance at awakening it. think of it as though they have a greater compatibility with that fruit or fruit type.

@@HurricaneDDragon comparability might have been the wrong word. Didn't mean it as though it was a problem in the past but more like you could have a greater afinity for it so that u can have more Control and are be more efficient with it. Like say you are sabo and kualas kid and after sabo dies you find the fruit, you would somehowow already find it like second nature to use the fruit and your road to awakening it would be much faster. Keeping in mind that this is one piece we are talking about and characters seem to have perfect personalities/quirks/names for their devil fruit way before they even get it as though destiny had something to do with it🤣🤣 so basically my theory wouldn't apply or be noticeable in more than half the cast, if at all, but it is an interesting thought expiriment

Spoiler for anyone who is not done with Marine Ford: And then Luffy freed Ace from the execution platform and they got away safely with Whitebeard sacrifice. Now in Wano Ace has returned with Marco to help Luffy fight Kaido. Ace is that rumored other person present besides Marco and Izo.

Pretty sure it’s observation haki. Voat has never been shown to do anything like this before, and aisa in skypiea used observation haki in the same way

My kind of head cannon for devil fruit users having kids, is that their kids would be born super humans like the members of CP9. Instead of gaining special powers based off of their parent's devil fruit, they just get a boost to their base stats and a longer life span.

The thing is Dr. Kureha isn’t a superhuman. Oda stated that humans in the OP universe have an average lifespan of around 140 yrs old. That’s if you live a healthy lifestyle. Yes she is at that point when we finally meet her but I can imagine her being a doctor she’s taken precautionary measures to stay healthy. Rayleigh is in his 70’s and doesn’t have a devil fruit and he’s in very good condition for his age. As for Roger, Whitebeard, and others who had devil fruits or did things that shortened their lifespan significantly like how Luffy needing to have the procedure done to cure him of Magellan’s poison in impel down took 10 years from him or how using any of his other gears slowly shorten his life as well. I can imagine all that abusing your body getting into fights and near death experiences would play a big part in reducing your lifespan greatly.

In the one piece world humans vary drastically in height, strength etc... this could be a result of hundreds of years of genetic mutations due to devil fruits. This would explain why some humans are huge despite not being giants.

Aokiji's son: Have really good resistance to cold Sabo's son: Have rally good resistance to heat Jozu's son: Really tough skin Marco's son: Really fast wounds regeneration And you get the thing, maybe it doesn't really give a concrete power but it boost the physicial aptitudes related to the fruit

Since zoans have a hybrid form, can't they technically pass down some powers from their fruit as long as they are able to conceive in their hybrid form as half the dna being passed on will be half animal? Making their children technically a quarter of whatever animal the zoan was? This would be zoan specific

Spin-off to this “discussion”: what happens if a woman eats a Devil fruit and has her lineage factor changed /while she is currently pregnant/? Figure what the mother eats nourishes both her and the unborn child, so I’m a way the fetus is eating the fruit at the same time she is.

Until you realize that she consumed the fruit first, and she has to start digesting it before it gets to the kid, and that means the kid is just getting leftover devil fruit. It'd be like if Luffy took a small bite of the Gum Gum, and you snatched what was left and tried to eat it yourself. You both would have eaten something with shit for taste, but Luffy got the powers, and you just got a bad taste in your mouth.

@@SkunaDaGreen You seem to not know how the human body works, or simply forgot for a moment, so here's a very brief summary that may inform or remind you. When a woman gets pregnant, the child grows in her womb, which is not her stomach. There is a connection, through the umbilical cord, for nourishment to reach the fetus. However, in this case, the devil fruit must first be digested by the pregnant woman before it can reach the child through the umbilical cord. By that point, the woman would already have the power of the devil fruit, and the child is only going to be getting whatever natural nourishment the devil fruit would supply, which is probably only whatever nourishment the fruit that the devil fruit reincarnated into had.

yes proabably but the fruits changing the lineage factor while spezifically implied isn´t explained at all. for one i personaly believe a woman might not be able to pass down the fruit genetics because of the way a womans eggcells work and how dna is passed from parent to child (long story short while the man constantly produces new spermcells, a woman is born with an already finite amount of egcells )

I've sort of seen the whole genetics side as like, sure, the kid might have a genetic makeup that's slightly altered, but the actual abilities of a devil fruit user come from the alteration of the users soul. So yeah, a kid from Monet and Aokiji might have a genetic makeup that is altered (perhaps even making them more comfortable in the cold), but they wouldn't have anything else special about them because they have a normal human soul

Well, we do know of a Logia user who has kids, and his son is immune to lightning, which is part of storms, so, they are immune to something from his devil fruit, so it could be tied to that ability. Or it could be tied to his son eating his own devil fruit and being rubber.

The homies listen to the Charlotte children, I assume that's the extent that her fruit was passed on to them. Luffy's kids might just be very flexible, logia kids might be more resistant to their parent's element & zone kids take a couple of the animal traits

I dunno, tbh, something like Chaka or Pell’s fruit I wouldn’t be surprised if they were given to each generation. But honestly this is a big stretch considering Goda’s writing. That reminds me? I don't think the parents who are Devil Fruit Users can passed it down to their children. We haven't seen any Toki's children had the Time-Time Powers nor Big Mom's children used the Soul-Soul Powers as well.

But do you think the devil fruits can affect the personalities of offspring? Dragon has some kind of wind devil fruit, and Luffy's personality is as free as the wind. And Smoothie is very similar to Big Mom, even having a similar devil fruit, which is absorbing the liquids(souls in Big Mom's case) from other people.

My vote is Yamamoto is a ancient Saber tooth user or something of the like. Oda has it set up pretty even oddly enough. We have 2 dinosaurs, then we have 2 flying combatants a pterodactyl and a Phoenix neither of which are dinosaurs, then we have Jack the mammoth so I'm guessing another ice age fruit could be Yamamotos on top of all this we got two dragons so I mean 🤷♂️

Who's Who already has the Smilodon Zoan. I mean, there were other sabre toothed cats, but the Smilodon is the most famous, and the only one most people even know exists. If Oda was going to give her one, it would have been that one.

I am going for the classic T-rex for Yamato, I know people were asking for it, and we did not get it yet(Drake is an Alossauro), so give the most iconic dinosaur to the good guys and possible crewmate, it would be cool to have T-rex on the straw hats.

Maybe Big Mom's powers did get passed down to her kids, but since paramecia powers are a lot more complex, none of her kids really had any idea they had it. Maybe the powers even manifested at some point, but nobody realized, while if a zoan power manifested, it would be a lot easier to spot and understand

Would make sense, Kaido's about 6-7 times the size of momo in regular form, seems like momo's dragon form is about 5 times as big as him so it should get bigger just from momo growing up.
