It’s sad that she says she’s “so tired” so many times. You’re tired because you’re under fueling your body. Even very intense workouts shouldn’t leave you feeling completely drained. I workout 6-7x/wk and 1-3x a day and I have tons of energy to do yard work, make nutritious meals, etc. I did not feel this way when I was in a chronic calorie deficit however.

I was wondering if it was just me thinking she looks and sounds exhausted during the whole video. I honestly don't know how anyone following her channel would feel compelled to adopt her lifestyle when she portrays zero...enthusiasm. I'm not familiar with her content, so maybe she was having an "off-day," but even so, why make a video if you're not in it to win it?

@Alyssa684
@Alyssa684 Жыл бұрын
@@olivej696 I work full time as a personal trainer and I’m a semi-pro athlete. When I say 1-3x a day that includes things like yoga, cross training, and prehab exercises - it’s not all strength training and running. The key is that most people are simultaneously eating too little and working out at too high of an intensity too often. For aerobic workouts you should do 80% at a easy effort and only 20% at a hard effort. And for strength training you have to be balancing progressive overload hard sessions with corrective exercise, prehab and active recovery like yoga and mobility work. You also have to ease into it. Most people start doing way too much and don’t give their bodies enough time to adapt to the lifestyle and make the physiological changes required to handle the volume they’re asking their bodies to handle. Also, sleep!! Athletes require 8-10 hours of sleep (I recommend naps). Lastly, if you have the resources required, I’d recommend getting a blood panel, particularly ferritin, iron, and vitamin D levels. If you’re deficient in these areas you’ll battle chronic fatigue no matter how good you are about the other areas. I’d also like to emphasize that this is a lifestyle that isn’t realistic for people with other passions and responsibilities (like if you have children).

Daisy is my least favourite type of fitness influencer. Completely aesthetic-based (“what I eat to build my booty”), absolutely no education regarding the function and mechanics of movement, toxic attitudes toward food and the need to justify what you’re eating because you’re going to “burn it off” or “use it for my workout.” Working out and fitness is not just about having a big booty. Fitness and nutrition is about so much more than how it makes you look.

@@tracy_cakkes that's awesome you get to enjoy your carbs and reach your goal weight. I think everything needs to be in moderation for you to enjoy life & food, no use trying to be super healthy & restrictive if you are miserable from not getting to eat intuitively! I think more people nowadays have trouble with weight and obesity since we can be quite sedentary, with lockdown forcing us to avoid the gym and outdoors, delivery services, not many parks or walkable cities & online hobbies. It's tough paying for fruits and veggies that can quickly go to waste & companies hide a lot from you, adding extra sugar, preservatives. I recently heard air fryers were releasing some harmful chemicals as well. It's almost like you can't win. Sorry for the long rant though! Hope you have a nice day.

I myself have done it and its true. So stop this bullshit with carbs are great. Yes they are. But not for everyone. as someone who struggles with restriction and disordered eating patterns, i think it does make sense. she makes her meals look "full" and "healthy" so its easy to get fooled into thinking she is eating enough. shes not SEVERLY malnourished (yet), but she does seem a bit worn down and drained. she clearly undereats, especially considering the amount of workouts she does daily. her diet has enough vitamins and important macros to keep her somewhat healthy (or at least relatively healthy), but theres a lack of energy. possibly from avoiding carbs so much? lifting is heavy exercise and most people who lift eat more to grow their muscles. if she keeps it up, she might start to loose the muscle (has happened to me lol)

Plus, if you have chronic UTI or urinary calculi, you are advised to drink acidic fruit just juice (prune, blueberry, cranberry, etc) to help make your urine more acidic since as you said, being acidic is the favorable pH.

@@xkristixx haha. So my grandma hides money in about a quarter of the Easter eggs in various amounts (now it’s just values on a piece of paper due to losing money). There’s 3 “golden” eggs with 20 dollars. The rules are find eggs and that’s about it. We’ve been known to tackle each other and push and shove. There is a big competition for most eggs found, most money and best money to egg ratio. Stitches have happened because of poorly placed eggs near things that could slice you and when two people go for the egg one person is bound to get hurt. Eggs are also very strategically hidden sometimes holes have been dug. Haha

At this point anytime I see a food label making a claim as a “superfood” I’m immediately turned off. It’s just a marketing tool to make the consumer feel better and also uses it as an excuse to charge more for an otherwise basic product. Also whatever benefit there is in that creamer, I highly doubt a single serving of creamer is enough to have a significant impact. I don’t under how any fitness person can speak about carbs like an afterthought. It’s literally what you need to fuel your body, especially for your workouts.

I don't know about anyone else, but oats before (or I've tried to eat them during long runs before as well) get my tummy going in a super not ideal way! Where some people say that toaster waffles have no place in your diet, I say that toaster waffles with peanut butter and banana are my FAV pre-run snack. Side note: Abbey, I love how you continuously talk about fueling our bodies in ways that work for us and support our specific dietary needs. I ran cross country in high school and remember almost getting a "prescription" from a coach about what foods I needed to include and exclude in order to get faster. I thank God that my mother (who is a nurse) blatantly disregarded my coach's wishes and focused on balanced meals with hunger crushing combos!

I have been battling acid reflux that is clearly linked to stress. I have been taking alkaline meds whenever I feel acid going up my esophagus. Trying to lower my stress. Last thing before I set up a consult with a doctor would be taking meds that lower the production of acid in the stomach for a few weeks. That is when you need to reduce acid on your system, when it is out of whack. It seems to be getting better, probably because I have been focusing on the stress reduction, sleep and exercise.

With regards to alkaline water: in ruminants, excess ammonia (a very basic substance) from urea fed to them, cause a rumen alkalosis and causes a lot of rumen microbes to die, especially important gram negative bacteria. Urease (enzyme needed for urea to ammonia conversion) however stops at a pH at 9-ish... So you then have rumen stasis on top of the metabolic acidosis in blood vessels (NH3 in the blood as NH4+ that is an hydrogen donor). This indicates that the alkalinity of what is ingested, DOES have an effect
