Read ccc#2068 for the RCC salvation works based prescription. follow the 10 commandments to ATTAIN salvation!?’ Bible says different: Romans 3:28 (KJV) Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. And ccc#2068 says the justified man is OBLIGATED to keep the 10 commandments! Seriously? Bible says nope 👎🏼 Galatians 3:24-25 (KJV) 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. @@EPH-re2xj...have you read the last chapter of Galatians? It's really bad practice to read Paul's letters by fragments. In his case the "context" of a passage is the whole thing. It's one of the shortest books in the NT. Read it all.
@crusaderACR
@crusaderACR Жыл бұрын
@@EPH-re2xj I'll paste some of it for you. Chapter 6 (the last chapter): "Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3 If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, 5 for each one should carry their own load. 6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. *7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.* 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Read most especially verse 7 through 9 What happens if we don't follow the Law of Christ? What happens if we do evil? This letter was addressed exclusively to the gentile believer community of Galatia. The letter was in response to complaints of the Galatians following things like circumcision and abstaining from pork. That's not what saves. Christ saves by grace, through faith, but let's not be deceived! If we don't do good works of charity, we will reap what we sow. Heaven has no suffering, so think well what does this "sowing" mean. Again, avoid reading Paul by fragments. It's recipe for reading "to your own destruction" as Peter said regarding Paul.

Excellent explanation! Thank you so much. This way you put it, it's easy to understand what the Church really teaches, how it is clearly taught in Scriptures and it makes perfect sense. To be fair as a cradle Catholic I think we sometimes really do misunderstand our faith because the grace aspect is not always emphasized enough - at least that is my experience, but that may also be coming from a culture that emhasizes effort and becoming someone, getting somewhere etc. (and I'm not American but Central European). So sometimes we end up in legalistic thinking without understanding that it is not what our faith teaches. After all, I do remember being taught about grace in Catechism classes as a child. I think I didn't understand it properly though up until recently and it was Protestants that challenged me to adjust my mindset. So I'm grateful to them. They made me go back and study my faith better. I have seen Protestant Pastors falling into the trap of this phrase about works based salvation- when they try to address the importance of works in Christian life they always need to make disclaimers and say that works as in James 2 don't have anything to do with salvation, only with rewards in heaven, closer friendship with God (or a similar explanation) when James 2 seems to be very clear that it has to do with justification. I have had a hard time understanding these theological views, they seem so foreign and confusing to me.

Most do not understand James. Read James 1:1 Who is he addressing? Also if you believe the RCC does not promote works then read their salvation false prescription - ccc#2068 and 2036 Follow the law / the 10 commandments to ATTAIN salvation. Folks can twist and turn it however they like but the catechism is clear - it’s a works based false doctrine that one can’t deny truthfully.

@@EPH-re2xjWhen James says "brothers" he means Christians. ccc 2068 says the 10 commandments are still valid ccc 2036 says if we break them we may lose our salvation, thus their observance is necessary, but we are not saved by them 10 minutes before baptism you're a guilty man, if you die immediately after then you're saved. You did nothing to deserve it. If you break the commandments gravely, willfully, and knowingly you become a stranger to Christ. Reconciliation is necessary. James prescribes confession to deal with this.

Hey! Thanks for watching. My sources are Scripture and the official teachings of the Catholic Church as described in the Catechism and more particularly the Council of Trent as well as a few other resources here and there. I’m curious, what part of my understanding seems more similar to the Reformed perspective? I hold strictly to transformative justification and even mentioned that we can grow in that justice which we received from Christ. This seems antithetical to forensic justification by imputation, no? Edit: I’ll also add that Reformed don’t see works as contingent for salvation in the same way I described in the video. It’s typically articulated in a way that would imply our works post-conversion are automatic if we truly have faith/have been regenerated and they only serve to demonstrate that we are of the elect.

Great talking points. I believe the bible (as well as other scriptures) emphasize both faith & works (as works are an indication of faith). Grace is a component too and is for all (even non believers) will take part in some salvation! (because God is just and merciful) "Every man and women will confess Jesus is the Christ" (if not now - in the afterlife). So yes we need the following (Faith + Works) with Grace being the blanket (or 3rd part over all)! Father, Son, Holy Ghost!

What about the argument that God created angels to be good yet 1/3 of them fell. Similar to how God can make us new/good, but we can fall away or be cut off. We can also be grafted back onto the vine (ie grace, confession) as scripture says.

This is commendable effort. Nevertheless, there is something inherently problematic within Catholicism that whether it's in the US or in Asia, most Catholics get this wrong. As Dr Scott Hahn notes in his Romans commentary p 55, a staggering number of ill-catechised Catholics think and act as if one can reach heaven simply by being a good person. I've once advised a Protestant to break up with her 'Catholic' boyfriend because he couldn't accept this basic doctrine.

So just to make sure I understand this correctly: Through bapstism we are saved, freely from the grace of God from what Lord Jesus did. However, it is our duty as Christians to maintain faith, and obey His Commandments. If we don’t bear fruit, then we aren’t on the vine that is Christ. Our works don’t save us, but they are evidence that we’ve been saved, and we must continue in them, in obedience, in order to stay in that state of grace that has freely been given to us?
@wordforever117
@wordforever117 10 ай бұрын
I think it is the case that we are saved by grace through faith. Sacraments are a source of grace that we approach in faith. So we approach baptism with faith and as a result we enter into the New Covenant, receive the grace of forgiveness of sins and receive the Holy Spirit. At that point we are in a state of grace. The only thing that can break our state of grace is sin - turning away from God, being unfaithful to him. A turning back to God - repentance - then receiving grace again through faith, this time through the Sacrament of Reconciliation restores that state of grace. When in a state of grace we are worthy to receive Christ bodily in the Sacrament of the Eucharist - which is hopefully a sign that we are saved at that point! This is my understanding at least!

@@bibleman8010 Only faith, no works “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Eph. 2:8-9). We cannot earn salvation. Salvation is the gift of God! The word ‘grace’ in verse 8 (above) is the Greek word ‘charis’, while the word ‘gift’ is the Greek word ‘charisma’. It is easy to see the two words are related. There are no works involved in grace and in a gift! The minute we add works to grace in this dispensation, we reject God’s salvation: “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work” (Rom. 11:6). Can you see the Apostle Paul used works and grace as opposites in the verse just quoted? Please do not mix church traditions with the salvation plan of God in this dispensation. If your church require anything more from you to become a member than to believe in the gospel of our salvation (1 Cor. 15:1-4) you should look for a church where the pure gospel of the grace of God is understood and preached. We live in the dispensation of the grace of God. In this dispensation God does not require faith to be substantiated by works. The good works (fruit of the Spirit) that follow when you are created as one new man in Christ will be the fruit of salvation. It is the work of the indwelling Spirit of God! We are not kingdom believers living in the dispensation of the Law. They had to substantiate their faith with works. A believing Jew had to be baptized with the baptism for the remission of sins, and he had to sell all his belongings and gave the proceeds to the poor, otherwise his faith meant nothing. This is why their leader, James, wrote the following to them: “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?” (James 2:20-22). We must learn to rightly divide the word of truth! 🙂

The Infallibility of the Pope Since 1870, with Pope Pius IX, the Catholic Church has taught the doctrine of Papal Infallibility. The Vatican Council then declared that The Vatican Council has defined as "a divinely revealed dogma" that "the Roman Pontiff, when he speaks ex cathedra -- that is, when in the exercise of his office as pastor and teacher of all Christians he defines, by virtue of his supreme Apostolic authority, a doctrine of faith or morals to be held by the whole Church -- is, by reason of the Divine assistance promised to him in blessed Peter, possessed of that infallibility with which the Divine Redeemer wished His Church to be endowed in defining doctrines of faith and morals; and consequently that such definitions of the Roman Pontiff are irreformable of their own nature (ex sese) and not by reason of the Church's consent" (Catholic Encyclopedia) On June 20, 1894, Pope Leo XIII was bold enough to claim that the Popes “hold upon the earth the place of God Almighty” Of course, this was nothing new because the Vatican Council of 1870 had already proclaimed that: The Pope is Christ in office, Christ in jurisdiction and power...we bow down before thy voice, O Pius, as before the voice of Christ, the God of truth; in clinging to thee, we cling to Christ. (Babylon Mystery Religion, p. 103). The first being to ever liken himself to God was Lucifer (Isa. 14:12-15), and the last will be Antichrist (II Ths. 2:3-4), so the Pope isn't in very good company. King Herod, who also followed the Roman religion, was killed by God for allowing people to credit him with infallibility (Acts 12:21-23). God's word is the only infallible Authority in Christianity. No man is infallible. The Bible record is quite clear about that: God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar..." (Rom. 3:4) To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Isa. 8:20) Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity." (Psa. 62:9) Friend, who will you believe, God's word or the Catholic Church?

Brayden you said we can’t keep his commandments unless we are connected to him. So someone taking RCIA and going to be baptized on Easter Vigil in a month is not connected to Christ, so they aren’t able to keep the commandments right? So the church is guilty of this individual failure to keep his commandments by not baptizing when he first trusts in Jesus. I bet you find this canon problematic because it contradicts scripture on salvation. Can. 856 Although baptism can be celebrated on any day, it is nevertheless recommended that it be celebrated ordinarily on Sunday or, if possible, at the Easter Vigil. For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2

You'll want to read on "Baptism by desire" The thief on the cross wasn't baptized. If told, he would've jumped at the opportunity. This makes it valid. But you must truly desire it. Same way if I commit a very grave sin, wilfully and knowingly, yet repent and run to confession, I'm saved even if I die in a car crash on the way there. RCIA prepares you for the start of your journey, and you can certainly start getting ready and thirst for that baptism, but rest assured your salvation won't be at risk. I hope I eased your concerns a little. God bless. EDIT: To be clear, I'm NOT saying baptism is optional. Not at all. Also in case you didn't know, any Christian baptism is considered valid by the Church (since the Arian fiasco, later made official in Trent). Even if a heretic does it. Even if a pagan does it. If you were some other type of Christian, you need not be baptized. In fact, you _shouldn't_ be baptized. You're already baptized! PS: Mormon and JW baptisms are invalid.

Still I must insist that if you can help it, go through the ordinary means. This cleanses all past sins permanently and it's best if you know how to keep your soul clean from then onwards (there's much to learn), and confession most especially for when you fail to do so. A (bad) practice in early Christianity was to postpone Baptism until days (or hours!) before your own death. Emperor Constantine did just that. I also understand the desire to make haste, babies are baptized for a reason, but if Constantine held off for decades, you can hold off for a few months of RCIA no? And I didn't say anything about the definition in the catechism. So I am not wrong as you stated. If two people both say they believe in one Creator of the universe, on the surface it would seem they agree. But if you investigate more, you may find one person believes the creator of the universe is an advanced alien being who created humans as an experiment. And the other person believes that the universe was created by one eternal spirit... they are not the same thing. Just because they both say "one", doesn't equate to the same exact thing. God bless.

@@JesusChurchBible By your definition, Mormons don't worship God while Muslims do. You can think of Islam as some sort of extreme Arianism with extra revelation. Did Jesus Preach the Cross for Salvation? Paul explains the preaching of the cross as it was given to him by Christ: “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”- 1 Cor 1:17-18 Although we now know that the redemptive work of Christ’s death and resurrection is the crux of our message of salvation for today, we must be careful not to read into Jesus’ ministry what is not there. No preaching of the cross in the ministry of Jesus and the disciples in Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John. Gospel of the kingdom Jesus did not preach his redemptive work on the cross for salvation during his ministry on earth. Jesus taught the gospel of the coming kingdom (Mark 1:14-15). This gospel consisted of repentance from sin, doing the comm, and seeking first the kingdom (Matt 5:19; Matt 6:33). these ideas are good and Biblical ideas, but none of them include faith in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. It was the specific message of the gospel of the kingdom that Jesus limited his ministry: “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. “ - Matthew 4:23 Jesus even taught the disciples the same gospel of the kingdom and told them to tell others to prepare for its coming. As a sign, he gave them power to heal the sick: “Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. “ - Luke 9:1-2 The first mention of the cross When Peter revealed Jesus as the Christ, Jesus told how he would give him the keys of the kingdom. Having spent months teaching and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, Peter would be one of the most qualified for this leadership position. However, it was not until that day that Jesus first spoke about his death, and it was a private teaching. “From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. “ - Matthew 16:21 Even more interesting, the same Peter to whom God revealed that Jesus was the Christ was kept from the meaning of the cross. Jesus reprimanded Peter for his rebuke with the famous exclamation, ‘Get thee behind me Satan’ (Matthew 16:23). It is evident that if Christ did not first mention his death and resurrection until more than half-way through his ministry, and even then his chief disciples were ignorant about it, that Jesus was not preaching the redemptive work of the cross for salvation. Eternal life according to Jesus It may be supposed that although Jesus talked a lot about the kingdom, that he still taught faith in his death on the cross for justification unto life. However, again, the Scriptures show us otherwise. When asked how to get eternal life, Jesus responded that commandment keeping would gain righteousness worthy of life eternal in the kingdom. “Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. “ - Matthew 19:17 In another instance John records Jesus’ words about attaining favor with God: “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” - John 14:21 During his Sermon on the Mount Jesus taught a conditional forgiveness where men could receive God’s forgiveness. “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” - Matthew 6:14-15 Instead of free justification based upon the redemptive shed blood of Christ at the cross, Jesus seems to be preaching a different message than what was revealed to Paul. Jesus’ exclusive ministry Instead of coming to preach the cross of Christ as Paul was sent to do (1 Cor 1:17), Paul said that Jesus came for a specific purpose - to confirm the OT promises. “Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers” - Romans 15:8 Jesus came to a specific people, to preach a specific message, and to die a specific death. What can not be found in his exclusive ministry is salvation from the preaching of the cross. Where Jesus sent his disciples preaching the kingdom and baptizing for admittance, Paul was sent not to baptize but to preach the cross (John 4:1, Matt 28:19, 1 Cor 1:17). Where Jesus went to a specific people, the circumcision, Paul’s ministry included every man despite their nationality or status with God. Although we have further information about the cross of Christ, and free justification through the blood of Jesus, we must be careful not to read doctrine into Jesus earthly ministry that was not clearly revealed until later. Even though Paul presents the gospel of Christ as the‘power of God unto salvation’, we must remember that the gospel that Paul preached was given by revelation of Jesus after Christ’s death and resurrection (Rom 1:16, Gal 1:11-12). GRACE and Mercy

I'm curious what you think is different between scripture and Catholicism? Scripture says if you have faith that Christ is your Lord and savior, you have the gift of salvation. Catholicism teaches the exact same thing in the Catechism paragraphs 161 & 169. Which is taken straight from Mk 16:16, Jn 3:36, 6:40 et. al. Every passage says if you trust Christ is your savior, you are saved. Muslim believe Jesus had special knowledge of God. They don't believe Christ is responsible for their salvation. So that should answer it.

@@The-Beau-Ultimatumthe God of Islam is not the god of Christianity. The bible clearly states the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ and not to worship false gods/idols (Islam). If you've been made aware of Jesus and you deny He is Lord, you do NOT go to heaven. If you've never been given the gospel yet you have a pure heart, catholic catechism/church teaches those people still may go to heaven based upon Gods judgement. Refusing Jesus is what is a definite path to hell. Ignorance of the Gospel doesn't necessarily damn someone to hell. Most christians, Catholics, protestants, etc. Aren't aware of this teaching from the One True church. You can look it up in the catechism. We have a written rule book, unlike all other Christian spin-off churches.

"....that kid who died before the age og accountability...." Let's take that thought to the extreme; how about the fertilized ovum which perishes before it even divides to become even 2 human-cells??? The truth of the matter is neither the bible nor the Church has ever provided a definitive answer to this question. Just like the day and the hour of Christ's return, not everything has been revealed to us; just the things necessary for our salvation. All the Church (the Catholic Faith) has ever said was the eventual fate of the un-baptized (whether a single cell or adult) affter death is left to the Mercy of God alone. Now if you truly believe God is indeed All-Good and All-Loving, and All-Merciful; then there is indeed no better hands that their fate could be left into to decide where they spend eternity. That is enough for me. If they do end up in the worst parts of hell, or the highest parts of heaven, or somewhere in between; then just like us they will be EXACTLY where they deserve to be by the highest and perfect ideal that can be had and you will perfectly be happy and at peace with it.

If God does not give him the grace of Baptism, he will not go to heaven. However, just because he does not deserve eternal life does not mean he deserves any sort of punishment. Hence, why the doctrine of limbo became very popular in the Church. The Catholic Church teaches that those who die before the age of accountability, though they do not have the assurance of salvation which is tied to the ordinary means of obtaining grace (baptism), we can place our trust in God's mercy that he would likely impart such graces extraordinarily. Either way, God is just.

The Authority of the Written Word The Roman Catholic Church has given tradition much weight when establishing and practicing her beliefs, yet the Bible clearly warns against this. In Matthew 15:3, the Lord Jesus Christ says, "Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?" Paul says, in Colossians 2:8, "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Catholic writings are filled with phrases like "the Church teaches" or "tradition teaches" or "the Church has traditionally taught". In light of the above Scripture, shouldn't true Christian writings be filled with phrases like "the Bible says" or "according to the Scriptures"? Friend, are you following God's pure words or are you following man's tradition? Perhaps you're thinking, "This is anti-Catholic hate literature!" No, actually, this tract is based on God’s word. If you doubt it, please check the references for yourself. What have you got to lose? Even when Rome professes to believe the Bible, we must remember that the Catholic bible is very different from the written word of God. The Catholic Church includes several books in their Old Testament that are not God's word. The Catholic Council of Trent of 1541 placed a curse upon everyone who does not accept the Apocrypha as inspired Old Testament Scripture (See Catholic Encyclopedia). In doing so, the famous council pronounced a curse upon Jesus Christ and the New Testament writers! In Matthew 23:35, Jesus said that the Old Testament began with Abel (The Book of Genesis) and ended with Zecharias (II Chronicles). Since the Hebrew Old Testament ends with II Chronicles, there is no room left for the Apocryphal books. This explains why the Lord Jesus and the New Testament writers never refer to the Apocrypha or quote it. These writings were not accepted as Scripture. So Jesus, Peter, James, Paul, John, Luke, and the rest are officially cursed by the Roman Catholic Church. Lest someone claim that this is no longer a Catholic belief, we refer the reader to page 61 of the Catholic publication, Faith of Our Fathers, by Cardinal Gibbons: If only one instance could be given in which the Church ceased to teach a doctrine which had been previously held, that single instance would be the death blow of her infallibility. So there is no absolute Final Authority in the Catholic Church. There are dual authorities: tradition and the Catholic bible, which is entirely unscriptural (Isa. 8:20, Mat. 4:4, Col. 2:8, Mat. 15:3). God's word alone should be the Final Authority of any Christian institution.

The Worship of Mary The Bible says in I Timothy 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." Yet, the Catholic Church teaches that Mary is to be honored as the great "Mother of God" St. Bernard stated that she was crowned "Queen of Heaven" by God the Father, and that she currently sits upon a throne in Heaven making intercession for Christians. Mary worship actually began in the fifth century A.D. when the term "Mother of God" was applied to her in the Council of Ephesus. In 1854, Pope Pius IX proclaimed the Immaculate Conception of Mary by stating that she was "preserved exempt from all stain of original sin". Romans 3:23 says that "all have sinned", which includes Mary. We know it includes Mary, because she was commanded to offer a sacrifice of atonement for her sinsin Luke 2:24 fullfillig Old Testament prophecy Leviticus 12:8, and she spoke of needing a "Saviour" in Luke 1:47, sinless perfect people don't need saving. It is taught in the Catholic Church that Mary remained a perpetual virgin after Jesus was born, but Matthew 1:25 says that Jesus was only her "firstborn" son. That is, there were others born later. Matthew 13:55 tells us that James, Joses, Simon, and Judas (not Iscariot) were brothers of Jesus. Galatians 1:19 speaks of James the Lord's brother, and Psalm 69:8 also speaks of Mary's other children. According to God's word, she did not remain a virgin, and she is not a virgin today. There is no such person as the Virgin Mary. Notice in Luke 11:27 a woman cries out to Jesus and says, "Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked." Does Jesus commend her for these words? No, he is very quick to keep the emphasis off of Mary. He replies in verse 28 with, "Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." Jesus had a perfect opportunity to praise and exalt Mary, but he chose not to do so The Catholics make much of Luke 1:42 where Mary is said to be blessed "among women", but in Judges 5:24, Jael is said to be blessed "above" women. So, if there were a Queen of Heaven, Jael would make a far better candidate than Mary. The idea of a female deity is nothing new. Most all pagan societies worshipped female goddess long before Mary was born, and many of them also believed in immaculate conceptions. The Scandinavians worshipped Disa; the Druids worshipped the Virgo-Patitura as the "Mother of God"; the Germans worshipped Hertha; the Greeks worshipped Aphrodite; the Egyptians worshipped Isis, and the Romans worshipped Venus and Fortuna. In the Bible, we find that pagan goddesses are very common also. The Ephesians worshipped Diana (Acts 17:27). As early as Judges 2:13 (about 1400 B.C.), we find the worship of a goddess named "Ashtaroth". Throughout God's word, the Israelites would wander after these false goddesses and bring God's wrath upon their nation (Jud. 10:6, I Sam. 7:3-4, 12:10, I Kgs. 11:5, II Kgs. 23:13, etc.) The term "queen of heaven" is a common Catholic term for Mary, but the avid Bible student will notice that this was really a false goddess (Jer. 44:16-25)! Can't you see how deceitful Satan has been? This heathen goddess was gradually brought into the Catholic Church under the name of "Mary" in order to attract the pagans to the new Roman system, the "Holy Roman Empire". In reality, it's the same old pagan worship that God has forbidden for centuries! Should we pray to Mary? No, because no one in the Bible ever prays to Mary. In fact, the last time we read of Mary in the Bible she is praying along with the disciples (Acts 1:14), not being prayed to by them Mary never allowed anyone to exalt her in the Bible, and she never assumes a position of authority over other Christians. In fact, Mary gives only one command in the whole Bible. This is a command which should be noted and remembered by all professing Christians the world over. In John 2:5, Mary the mother of Jesus says, "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." Mary didn't say to follow her or pray to her. She said to obey the Lord Jesus Christ! Friend, Mary worship is totally pagan and totally forbidden in God's word.
