“This end is really giving me fits!” I heard you say that and immediately decided that we are long lost sisters as that sounds exactly like something I would (and have!) said! And then you added glitter. Yup….. definitely separated at birth, we two. LOL! Jill, this is gorgeous! I am interested how it affects the weight of the hook and how that impacts your hands and wrists? I would LOVE to have hooks this pretty❣️❣️ 😍

Hi Chris! Thank you for taking the time to comment and watch the video. The weight of the hook is increased by not to the point it hinders me. I have carpal tunnel so these hooks are much easier to hold with a thicker base. You can mold this clay to your grip (something I figured out after about the 4th one!) making it more ergonomic! Good luck! AND remember to find a way to put the hook size on it 🙂 I thought about finding like confetti that are #'s. I have some with letters that I use for ploymer clay earrings but havent found #s. Let me know if you try it and how it goes!

I like that you showed that things aren't always perfect on the first try, sometimes you have to adjust and do over. Gives me lots of ideas I want to 'try'. 😊

I'm going to make 6 of these tomorrow using galaxy theme sculpey in pink purple and metalic mother of pearl fimo. With lots of glitter too, thanks for the video .. it muchly helps xx

I made some, using my hot glue gun and colored glitter glue sticks. I start by wrapping the crochet hook with left over yarn, then wrap that in the hot glue. They're not as smooth and pretty as yours but they work quite well and some look pretty nice. However, I don't cover the flat part where you see the size. I might try your way although I do have a lot of glue sticks, so that makes it cheaper for me.

Yeah I didnt think about the size space 🙂 If i make more, I will find a way to stamp the size into the handle.

Hi. What kind of hook is that? Im scared it might melt somehow while the clay is baking.

It’s an aluminum hook. It didn’t melt at all during baking.

Do you use a regular oven?

Hi! Yea, I use my regular oven. I also make earrings from this clay and I bake those in my oven as well. Some people prefer to use a small separate oven but I’ve never had an issue with odor.
