Israel had the six day war before America came along. It was a lot more bold back then. Since then, it's been a slow downhill process as America has messed up the middle east entirely (things like funding the Taliban and implementing revolution in Iran in '79), while giving Israel expensive military toys under the guise of making Israel safer, while forcing Israel to cede its own territory to terrorists who then ethnically cleanse Christians from their new territories (like Bethlehem). If only Israel could go back to the days of taking out Saddam's nuclear program and taking care of this region the world would be a much better place. But that's not what Democrats want...

It’s very cool to sit with a smile on your face, in a cozy apartment in a peaceful city, and talk about something you’ve never seen in your life. Come to Ukraine, see with your own eyes what Putin is doing to it, talk to people, travel through the liberated cities that were occupied. Then you will understand why Ukraine now needs weapons and money to support the economy. We have been living in this nightmare for 2 years now and we don’t know how much longer we will have to live in this. We were promised protection when our country gave up nuclear weapons under a treaty. America is one of those countries that promised this protection. Russia also promised protection, and 20 years later it took away Crimea. And no one wanted to help us then. Now we are waging a defensive war against a country with 3 times our population size, and the question arises: do we need help?

Israel is dependent on US military tech and the Ukraine is equally dependent on everything we can send.

Military spending was prioritized over diplomatic because two world wars and a cold war that wasn't so cold for millions of people around the globe for four decades proved that diplomacy isn't always effective, especially when you can't back it up with force.

@@lu544 that's clearly not effective, that's what we tried before being dragged into both world wars. And especially with the modern economy that is impossible. What will happen when shipping lanes and economic treaties are no longer abided by because hostile countries run things? Even just losing control of something the the suez canal would have major impacts on your life that I promise you would regret immediately.

There are larger geopolitical concerns it seems. For one , its not just about Russia invading future countries in europe and attacking NATO , but about sending a message to china they cannot get away with invading taiwan and other countries and controlling the whole of the south china sea. I am fine with The US being more of a non interventionist because I'm not from that country but if they want to continue to be the dominant empire they need to continue to use their military to keep other empires in control.

@@hismajesty6272 Its what that country prioritizes. If they focused more on domestic infrastructure and entitlement programs they would be more like europe avoiding spending on their military hoping Russia doesn't invade .

Seems like over half your country is somewhat supportive of helping Ukraine , right ? You could practice Agorism in protest I suppose

We no longer have a military industrial complex so the comparison with the 50s and Eisenhower's speech are spurious at best. Every time the US leaves some place in the world a power vacuum is created and filled inevitably by hostile forces. If you want international trade to break, big wars to break out everywhere and eventually a world war, just continue spouting this nonsense.

The military industrial complex is smaller by an order of magnitude than during Eisenhower's time. He would be quite happy to see how far the MIC has been curbed.

People need to stop thinking this is money that is going to be printed and simply sent over there. Thats not the case. This is military aid. Its ammunition, artillery, missiles, all kinds of equipment. Not money. The money stays in the US where it goes to weapons manufacturers that make the stuff. Which creates jobs and helps the economy.

@@smartman2796 Im TRYING to explain that these 60 billion is first and foremost helping the US economy... Its being printed and poured onto the US weapons manufacturing industry. Its not leaving the country. -Which almost everybody I have talked to seems to think. Even news channels are quoting this number as if its simply your tax money being given away.

@@captain_context9991 I understand what you are saying, but the printing of money that the US does not have increases inflation. We then give away this 60 billion dollars worth of goods to Ukraine. So whether you give Ukraine a giant briefcase of money, or a crate full of weapons it doesn't matter. We are spending money we don't have on a war that isn't ours to fight or fund. We need to focus on the US and fix our already huge deficit before we try and help these other countries.

Ukraine doesnt so much need help as much as it simply doent need us manufacturing the circumstances that put rhem ina a war and then us preventing them from getting out again. Israel owns the USA so they will do with it as they please.
