I will say I did not get the job I was interviewing for in this video, which was to be expected. I thought I would take you along during one of my job videos. Of course, I didn't show the entire interview but I hope you can get an idea based on these clips. I also talk about the change I've noticed when applying for jobs now.
I am also attempting to participate in VLOGMAS this year on my personal channel so go subscribe and keep up with me :)

Man, this is the most transparent I’ve ever seen you and I appreciate you for sharing it with us. I have the technical and final round for a senior role this week but it’s different this time. Instead of actual questions, they will be opening their labs and have me do a bunch of stuff on 5Ks, 7Ks, etc. it’s the first time I’ve ever had this type of interview and I think I actually prefer it, but hopefully it goes well.

@@domonique6646 Congrats! Is it for a network engineer position? I worked at a hospital as a network engineer for 2 years and I did so much learning while I was there. After being privileged enough to work in different sectors as an NE, I personally wouldn't go back to a hospital environment again though. However, I wouldn't be where I'm at if it wasn't for that experience. You'll learn a ton while you're there so this journey will certainly make you a better engineer.

"Apply for any role you believe you can handle." was the best advice I ever got when it comes to career. The reason why is simple, because it's shooting your shot. Here's the thing, every interview wont be the same and being honest some interviewers are as bad as the questions they ask. Should there be technical questions? Yes for sure. It's not about that though. The questions should be more geared to finding out who the person is, as in their personality. Can this person fit into the team? Are they teachable? Are they able to lead and teach others? Can they handle pressure? Can they relay thoughts well and be articulate without saying buzz words to get over? You can handle a lead/Sr. role for sure. Keep climbing that ladder and hitting your goals!

Hey what's up Lise! Hope all is great with u. Thanks for this video like for real. You touched on some great things. Confidence being the biggest one. I'm starting over in my career and I think I know how to do some things but when it comes to interviewing and hearing what the job actually wants can be a definite confidence killer. But I know you can handle Sr. level shit! Like dude said, study up on what they tell you and do your thing. I know u prolly done had the interview and we'd definitely like to hear about it in another vlog but I know u can perform well and prolly know more about the job than any other applicant. So yeah, if u want that job, go for it! You'll shine regardless! Well just offering some encouragement. I hope u and your family have a very merry Christmas and happy new Year! Be well, be safe and Peace!

Lol I had a zoom interview recently for a devops network engineer role. I don’t have any devops experience but I have cloud cert and SE degree. I’ve been a traditional network engineer all my career thus far but want to specialize. All the interviews committee was nice but i swear from start to finish I got hit with consistent tech questions. I feel like I probably said some form of “idk” to half of them. I got done feeling like you just did..The crazy part is later on I got an email the same day asking for a onsite interview. In my mind I’m thinking “wtf? How? Are they just fucking with me”. Part of me didn’t even want to go but I said “sure”. Hopefully I don’t embarrass myself too much. Wish me luck.

Very rarely have i needed to know any of the things I've been asked in an interview for the actual job. It's kinda comical. Interviews are more like "do you know a bunch of technical things in the event we have a vendor or contractor so you can actually understand and answer questions" but really in the job it's "lemme Google that and call you back in 30"
