FILM DESCRIPTION:
Rocky (Jane Levy), Alex and Money are three Detroit thieves who get their kicks by breaking into the houses of wealthy people. Money gets word about a blind veteran who won a major cash settlement following the death of his only child. Figuring he's an easy target, the trio invades the man's secluded home in an abandoned neighborhood. Finding themselves trapped inside, the young intruders must fight for their lives after making a shocking discovery about their supposedly helpless victim.

@@yomama75 my comment was mainly that in the US police pulling a gun is considered them using lethal force and needs to be justified by them having fear for their life, though the discretion to do so and whether it is reportable depends on the department. Police in the US have widely varying standards defending on department so many either freeze up in dangerous situations or escalate and shoot unarmed people in situations which didn't warrant it.

You guys have to remember that they didn't know this guy was some badass advanced soldier, they thought it was some blind old man, so the guy with the gun had no idea his life was in danger, and was probably moreso worried about escalating a robbery to a murder. He was completely taken by surprise when the old man went from 0-100 and overpowered him

When he asks "how many of you are there?" I thought it was so he would have a head start and would know how many he had to take out. But a comment pointed out that he wasn't asking "how many of you are there, so I know what I'm dealing with." He was asking "are there any witnesses for what I'm about to do to you?" it's hard to feel bad for these guys, they kind of brought it on themselves. Their thought process was, he's a blind old man. Worse comes to worse, we just intimidate or beat up the old man and take his stuff. We can take him. I could have picked plenty of moments that the characters could have bashed him over the skull and made off with the loot. In what world are 3 young healthy teens over powered by a blind man ? In fact Money could have easily shot him in his knees and then tied him up when he was coming at him. But of course, that wouldn’t have made an interesting story.

Considering the fact, that the movie does not make any sense yeah... like firing a loud weapon inside small interior is completely brutal without any ear protection. This blind dude should be crippled by his ears as well, considering that he was in army and now firing from loud weapon. They made him like some kind of Terminator.

Bro he is mad smart for using his blindness (something that seems like a weakness) to get closer to the enemy to get to him physically where he has the upper hand. That is how a blind person is supposed to fight. A person with sight would have quickly been shot but since the man was blind he took advantage of the situation because he knew he wasn’t going to get shot as the enemies thought he wasn’t a threat because of his lack of sight. Even if the enemies already knew what he was capable of the blind man still had tricks up his sleeve and could have used his dog to find them for him or used something like smoke bombs to block their field of vision. The enemies also kind of made it clear they had a weapon so he knew what was going on. Being blind teaches you not to rely on just one sense and get creative with how you approach problems.

I saw this movie once and it blown me away. Just classic, but sadden me how things were and went. But remember guys never ever break into someone's home because you will encounter this type of guy in reality.

When I first saw the trailer of this movie I actually wanted to go see it because I was so happy that they made a movie about a helpless old man take out the thieves. But I never wanted to go see it because I had another feeling that they made the old man a bad guy and wanted us to feel so sorry for the thieves. And it turned out I was right. So let's say I dodged a bullet from spending my money
