Literally just happened to me, we were at a double date and she got disrespectful/dominant. I didn’t raise my voice, I literally got up and left mid date she text me that I and I told her “I don’t stay anywhere I feel disrespected and ended the conversation. The next day she called and i reminded her about how important respect is to me and she violated that and it’s a zero tolerance policy. So I ended it. So few days go by and she sends a massive text apologizing talking about her friends, family and others never held her accountable until me and she does respect and willing to do whatever it takes to show me that something like this will never happen again. It was satisfying and now her tone is different, she more agreeable, not talking back as much and I’m in full control because she know I stand on my values. Never let her disrespect you under any circumstance 💯. Use that opportunity to reaffirm your boundaries and tell her exactly what you want and you aren’t accepting anything less. Never ever reward or ignore behavior that’s not up to your standards

She actually changed? IMO sounds as though she was setting the stage. She's saying her friends and family are also disrespectful; they won't check her because they of themselves are disrespectful. She's stroking your ego by claiming she would change for you. People don't change for people. Change happens when the pain of staying the same issue greater than the pain of change. I guess for you to answer my question when you get to Stage 3 (the crisis stage).

Since that day the behavior has changed, I think what helped me the most remembering my value a Man and how easily she can be replaced and actually was until I gave her an opportunity for changed behavior. Women will naturally try you for God knows what reason to see if you stand on what you say and I did. Since that day I have made it crystal clear of my expectations and it was a shock to her but she been abiding by them. I don’t think anyone changes as a person like you say and if they do it’s take hella time but I’ll look at your actions because if someone respects you enough they will amend their actions to how you need them and since then she truly has. Even when we had a few disagreements she express it a way to where she is careful/mindful which shows me women have the ability yo do it it just they are raised and around people who justify that until they encounter a man who not going for it. It’s no excuse and she was held accountable. Since that day I’m not exaggerating she been going to back church, go to therapy, cooks and minds her words and actions I’m not expecting perfection but it’s been a whole 180. Being of value is the greatest leverage a man can have especially as we get older and we have to remember they are on YOUR program not theirs ever.

All these things about disrespect, they just say walk away, break up etc. The problem is if you live with her, have a lease together or whatever, you can't just say yep your out or im out. Your kind of stuck, you could break a lease or wait it out. I just think its more complicated and leaving is not always an option.

This advice is easy for unmarried guys, unless a man who cares nothing. U can't just walk away from a marriage uv invested in and with kids and the consequences. Once uv made that mistake of marrying in the first place, u must deal with women's disrespect every now and then. Today's women can't respect you. You are an utility for them. You got trapped bcos u wanted sex and children and someone to call ur own. Whew! What u can do when she disrespects u is to let her know u won't take her disrespect anytime she brings it and then withdraw from her. When u withdraw, no silent treatment, but just withdraw the best of ur self. The atmosphere at home will change. She will feel it, but will pretend to not care and even do worse. Stop debating your wife. Stop trying to make her understand how u feel. Withdraw from her. Somehow, things will normalize again. Many times, its u who overlooks her childish behaviour after some days and reach out to her again. Listen: they don't introspect; they don't apologize. Very soon, she will disrespect u again. That's the cycle of marriage these days...u either survive it or it explodes soon. It's a terrible thing if u don't have the fear of God and u marry a lady who does not, too.

It is crazy that some men need this talking to because they allow this idiotic tactic upon themselves with the hopes of validation from one woman. I use to stay up for guys like this, but now, I just look at that man in disgust. I would never allow a man to disrespect me, why would I allow a woman to do the same. I give respect before you earn it, but if you take advantage of it, it never comes back. I got blood relatives, I dont even talk to because of disrespect.
