Hey decino I'm actually the one who submitted this. I'm glad you liked the map! Eternal is one of my all time favorite mappers with wads like Epic 2, 32 Inch Nails, and Hell Ground all being personal favorites. His combat design can be a bit dated by modern standards, what with all the lone, non-threatening barons, but I still think he stands alone when it comes to the "doom as an adventure game" style. I was going back and forth between this (eye candy), Epic 2 map 28 (creative eternal doom style switch hunt), and 32 Inch Nails map 5 (challenge/slaughter map) but settled on this one because of how unique it is, and due to its (in)famous reputation among source port developers. Fun fact: I'm pretty sure the bridges are basically the sole reason this map can't be played in software mode. Recoloring demons obviously isn't a huge deal but I think it can do wonders to sell stylised levels like this. The browns and reds of the standard sprites would detract from the look. I always appreciate seeing people go through that little extra effort to commit to themes.

Pinkies being Snowies seems fitting. Also the grey / black looks to enemies makes it look like they've got superficial frostbite / deep frostbite. I imagine it's cold here compared to... well hell.

"not to be cold." What are you even saying? They're mindless demons from another realm. Their constant exposure would freeze their flesh. Stages 2 and 3 frostbite would look white / grey / black from the tissue damage. I mean there's literal walking skeletons with rockets I don't think they give a shit about being cold or feeling the need to "camouflage."

This level has a very Doom Eternal feel. Especially that view of the structure from the opposite side of the bridge. Very good design!

Being in a corner of the world that is brighter, hotter and gearing towards summer, a dark and cold video like this is the antidote I'm looking for. Also getting Eviternity vibes from this, which is always a good thing.

You know that's a brilliant idea both me and my wife love doom and this Christmas we was planning on watching all the Christmas themed dragon ball z abridged movie's but along with that I could make up a play list of all the best doom mods out there to watch. I mean my wife does keep telling me that I should get a new pc together and turn my old pc into a doom mod pc for all things doom but with your idea basically me and her could go through a lot of mods and decide what ones we want most. So yeah that's Christmas day and boxing day sorted now

This music is kick arse. And three weeks bloody hell that's good the map itself is just brilliant I really do admire those people who make these maps not just because I don't have any idea on where to start with such things lol but just seeing what people can create it's really impressive blows my mind some of it. Other than the impressive design of the map all in all with monster placement level lay out it looks rather fun to play I could see myself really enjoying playing through this. As always cheers for the upload decino I've just started playing planetary annihilation titan's which so far seems really fun it's a nice break if I'm honest from doom eternal the ancient gods as I've been trying to get through it on nightmare but keep making mistakes that end up frustrating me which in turn mucks up my game so I've decided to buy a new game take a break for a while and then yeah get back into dooming.

I have a Question about this map so you said this was using the doom map maker I'm never actually gone to try and make a map or even use the map maker myself so the question first really is this map maker from the original doom using the vanilla doom textures with added or edited textures because surely this map is using more than just the vanilla textures sky box I'm not including. I don't really know how to word this best but I mean I take it you could download this map maker and start making maps to play but I'm also assuming it would need something like is it GZdoom to use with the maps or at least to boot them up and play them. I don't know if I have the name right but I'm sure you would know what I'm talking about more than likely there is a few of them the launchers for the doom wads and mods. Because I've never actually looked into it myself I know absolutely nothing about it what program's I would need and all that I know nothing lol. If I'm honest though after watching you play through all the mods you have like sun lust, valiant, viwer submission etc I really wouldn't mind trying my hand at making my own doom maps or maybe even a mod however I would very limited on what I could do because I don't know coding or anything so wouldn't be able to do anything fancy lol. Anyway sorry for the long comment I leave it there with this one but if you do read this and have any suggestions on how to get started doing something like this I would really appreciate it. I am an absolute fan of the spritework! Even if it may be considerably "recolors" in some spots here and there, I see it as something beautiful. A snowy Cacodemon? You bet I'd be in wonderlust about that! Of all my years of seeing DOOM grow, I never actually expected to see a snow map, so this was one heck of a trip to watch. Amazing video as always, mate!

I guess Eternal picked the statusbar for its looks and didn't notice it had different ammo labels, or something like that. It is good-looking and thematically appropriate, though. Tasty low-res woodgrain.

33:28. Ah, the drama of the finale! Doomguy being locked into that tiny space with two cyberdemons and that clock ticking down slowly. This is lost watching the video, when said two cyberdemons become locked in with decino instead.

Perfect decino playthrough map to watch for these snowy, frosty days here in the UK. May give this one a go myself. I really can't adjust to Hell Knights dying with the Quake Ogre death sound though. So weird!
