Dude that mirror trick worked wonders for me. Had the hose out in 30 seconds once I could see it. Thanks

Just got the old one out, fuck this hose

Leave the clips down before pressing onward. Use a teflon spray on a rag and coat the inside of the coolant fitting so it slides on easily and coats the o-ring inside. The clips will audibly snap into place.

how did you remove the clamps off the hoses ? I have the same problem but I plan to just replace the connector with a Dorman hose 1
@datboifixit19958 ай бұрын
The clamp on the radiator end is a disposable type clamp, you'll need to buy some new clamps if you cut em off
@JPEAZI5 ай бұрын
To remove the factory style clamps, stick a small screwdriver inside twist of the left and then to the right. That will open up the crimp end and then you can easily slide your screwdriver underneath the side and pry up the trailing edge. Pick up a small worm clamp for $1 and replace.

ok can u PLEASE help me..does the NEW HOSE come with two orings (one at each end)? is it suppose to have them..some say yes or it will leak....ALSO WHAT IS THE DORMAN PART CALLED THAT YOU CAN REPLACE THE END PIECE..PART # ?? PIC? thanks
@datboifixit19958 ай бұрын
Not sure what O rings you are talking about. Dorman part number is 627-002

I MEAN ARE THERE ORINGS AT EACH END INSIDE THE HOSE ENDS??? ALSO THE DORMAN PART WILL FIT IF U CUT HOSE? THANKS GREAT VIDEO..STILL NOT SURE HOW U GOT IT OFF>>TIGHT SPACE>
@datboifixit19958 ай бұрын
@gail6904 honestly I didn't look inside the fitting, I don't think it had internal O rings but if it does then it's good because I haven't had issues. And if you buy the Dorman one you'll have to cut the clamp and reclamp to the new fitting
@gail69048 ай бұрын
okay thank u soo much for your help..looks like the Dorman part will fit perfect cuz i have No idea how you can get that back hose on firewall off...Amen yes the Dorman comes with ORINGS AND the hose is suppose to have 2 orings great video and ty so much!!

@@datboifixit1995 I was looking at that one and it was saying compatible with Audi and Volkswagen. I didn’t see it mention BMW on it. Did you have a reference on someone else using this and it working? It looks pretty similar to it, but I just wanted to double check before I order it

Was your firewall side of the hose pretty much seized on there? I got the clamp off, but the hose itself won’t budge.
@datboifixit19959 ай бұрын
Not really, once I got the clip off I was able to wiggle it off, try twisting is from side to side while pulling away.
@ThePublicAccess9 ай бұрын
@@datboifixit1995 I was doing that for a while, but it was not working. My 325i has 193,000 though so that certainly doesn’t help. Especially if this is the first time it has been changed. I wrapped a rope around it and shook it from side to side for anyone who may see this comment in the future looking for a fix to get that stubborn hose off.

@@ThePublicAccess yo, this is actually a pretty wise trick to do. After just replacing my coolant hoses, I can attest that I never thought of that and that would've actually worked so much better for even pulling and not risking prying against the plastic flanges, especially on the upper radiator hose.

Do you happen to have part number for the doorman connector?
@datboifixit19959 ай бұрын
The one I saw in another video was 627-002, but online it says that part is Audi/VW only but I've seen someone use it for bmw. It looks like the right part it's just hard to say.

Do you need to drain the coolant to do this ?

No, some will come out but just top it off after and bleed but no need to drain
