I've cut and split my own firewood for years, here's what I think for what its worth. For someone who is not selling or selling and doesn't have the bigger processors, this looks like a great machine. I like the vertical with the table, round lifter is sweet, looks well built and solid. I give two thumbs up.

I love that you control all the pieces when the splitter off the machine. 8 days ago were splitting wood and the 80lbs piece come off the wedge hit the ground rolled and smashed the big toe. Nothing that a bit or ice, rest and elevation can't take of. with this machine I can see total control of the wood. not too shabby!

One thing I’ve noticed on almost every log splitter is the splitting anvils aren’t tall enough and they don’t cut all the way through. On your vertical why don’t you put a slit in the bottom frame to allow the wedge to go further?
@EastonmadeWoodSplitters
@EastonmadeWoodSplitters 3 жыл бұрын
I guess we could. Most of our wedges only have 1/4" clearance when they are all the way down.

Nice splitter wish I had one. The only thing that I can see to improve on it is to move the conveyor closer to the splitter. the operator is having to reach or have a second guy load the conveyor with the split pieces. Other than that nice looking machine keep up the good work.
@EastonmadeWoodSplitters
@EastonmadeWoodSplitters 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael. I agree with you. Would love to be able to move the conveyor a little closer. The only issue we run into is the balance of the machine with the conveyor hanging off the end of it. Really appreciate the feedback and suppot
@jakebredthauer5100
@jakebredthauer5100 3 жыл бұрын
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters To balance the machine adjust the position of the wheels, left or right. Give the operator more control of the lift. Higher and slanted would make wood easier to pull. Lower and flat on the ground would make the lift easier to load. If there were a platform flat on the ground the operator could kick some wood onto it (not bend over). Perhaps the lift could be closer to the wedge for a more handy wood supply. I don't know why the lift is so far from the wedge. The lift could have a longer upper part and a longer lower part, not necessarily 90 degree (maybe 120°). To load the lift the wood could be a jumble, as from a skidsteer, with the idea that the wood will be rectified after being lifted. This idea is supportive of my idea for lift modifications. I saw Buckin Billy today on KZfaq with your splitter. He never split two pieces or three pieces at one time. He never showed the foot pedal, but he did mention it later. I think he liked the machine. I don't look at splitters much, but yours is the first one that I saw with the vertical axis and at a good working height.
@jakebredthauer5100
@jakebredthauer5100 3 жыл бұрын
I see now that having the bench to the right allows the splitter to continue while the lift is being reloaded. I know that balance is required for both operation and transport, but I don't know what the problem is.
@jakebredthauer5100
@jakebredthauer5100 3 жыл бұрын
It looks like the wedge height is adjustable. They had excessive clearance above the wood that wasted much time. Am I right?

Doesn’t seem that the 4-way improves the speed enough, if at all, to offset the increased risk and decreased controllability of size. Size controllability seems to be the main reason to buy this, with the added advantage of no scraps. Just an observation.
