Eating the Ultimate Sandwich!

The sandwich is one of the most popular foods in the UK along with a fish and chips and a full english breakfast, but what is the difference between an Italian, Japanese and Vietnamese version? Well in this video I head inside 3 of the best cafes representing each country to try out their sandwiches to see who is best!

I loved both the Italian and the Japanese! 😄 But the Japanese 'doorstoppers' are probably better value if you want a filling meal.

Most definitely shokupan looks fabulous amazing and thoroughly decent would keep you firing on all cylinders for hours

Greetings from Southern Calif! Regarding the Japanese Katsu Sando: You got a very authentic sando! As for the bread, the restaurant's name is also the name of the bread. Shokupan is the traditional Japanese Milk Bread. Any sandwich made with fresh Shokupan is a delightful dine! There's one other traditional Japanese Bread you should seek out (Warning, sooo good, you will curse the day you discovered it) Boloniya Bread. Almost like croissant in loaf form, always sliced thick, it makes the most sinful French Toast (Translation: Eggy bread for the Brits reading this) for brekkie!

What a great idea for a video, this channel is getting pretty close to the top of my fav KZfaq channel list. All the sandwiches looked great, but I baulk at paying £10 plus for a buttie, probably just an age thing

I'm the same, I really enjoy these vids. We had a chicken club sandwich at a local trendy restaurant and it was 10 quid, bit of a bargain compared to the rest of the menu! Living in Kent is not cheap😆

Another great review.Very interesting and a bit different which is good 👍. The most important part of a sandwich to me is the quality of the bread and the Vietnamese offering looked most appetising to me.

Another Everyday I'm Eating banger! Thanks for the upload as always. Katsu sandwich is different for sure but looked delicious. Would you ever consider doing a 24 hours in Bristol video? I could recommend you some fantastic places to eat

I really enjoyed this particular vlog as it was different, nice to see a change. Sandwiches are difficult to actually get right, but the bread has to be perfect with the right balance of fillings. I wasn’t sure about the ingredients in the Bahn Mi, my husband used to have them a lot but would definitely not have eaten one if it had fish sauce in it.

Wow, the Italian one looked delicious and I thought that'll be the one for me especially when you then said 'now a Japanese sandwich' my ignorant thought process was along the lines of this will be too weird and a bit raw fishy for me🤣then you opened that box to show beautifully stacked chicken sandwiches with crisp fresh ingredients, that was simply stunning(to me anyway). I didn't think much of the pork ball sub though so definitely the Japanese box. A great review that opened my eyes to what a Japanese sandwich can be like, cheers✌️

All those sandwiches looked delicious. The key is freshly baked bread. There are all types of fillings for each one, whether Italian, Japanese or Vietnamese, so the possibilities are endless. I love Vietnamese banh mi and usually you get not just the filling but also extra ingedients in bowls that you can add. However, I can't decide which was best unless I tried all three for myself!

That Katsu sandwich did look awesome to be fair. I have had some excellent Bahn Mis in a small chain called Bahn Mi Keu in London though. I'm gonna have to stop watching your vlogs on an empty stomach!😋

I actually didn't mind how the last one looked. Looked more homemade rather than trying to look fancy. I've only tried a banh mi once 11 years ago in London and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It was just from one of those Eat places though, so it wasn't exactly authentic. I need to get one from a proper Vietnamese restaurant at some point. I love Southeast Asian cuisine.

Totally agree; the Japanese sandwich looked so good. Love how happy you look whenever you do the combo bites during meals,as well. The sandwich is the ultimate combo bite.

Those sandwiches looked amazing in the Italian place. The focaccia looked so lovely. I love the combination of the olive oil,herbs, and texture of Focaccia. I don't think I could eat all of the Katsu sandwich, but it looked so delicious all the same.

Honestly, so very deserved. Your reviews are great viewing. Not sure why, but I'm addicted to the format. I would love it if you tried different foods. Eg two Indian places, or Chinese perhaps. I think the respective Italian and Japanese sandwiches aim to satisfy different appetites. The Italian is for a lighter, less demanding appetite. The Japanese was for someone who was really hungry. The Vietnamese aims at this latter appetite, too. I have had much better looking Vietnamese sandwiches. This one had no lettuce or other veg. A weak example. So I think the Italian and the Japanese are best depending on your appetite.

For me the Japanese one wins the day. I’m so astonished by the prices…..I’m in Vietnam and a bánh mi costs 70p with all the meats plus pate etc. But I normally eat a bánh mì with a soup either crab and egg or a meat/ vegetable one, together they taste good. A different type of video but enjoyable.

They all look well-made, authentic, and tasty. A lot of care has gone into each ingredient making each finished sandwich perfect. I'd eat the lot, but would need a few days between each one as I can't eat a lot of bread without it having an adverse effect on me

The first sandwich looks nice but the only downside is the foiaccha looks dry £9 I would say is a tad on the dear side 2nd location sandwich didn’t look as appealing but I would be more than likey eat all of this meal and the price for.

@@everydayimeating3407 I didn’t have time for a dessert. But they did look divine. My friend had the Salami Focaccia and really enjoyed it. I’ll go back there. I’ll also give the Japanese place a go I think as that Aldi looked yummy.

The katsu sandwich looked superb and I liked the look of the latte too. I think the Italian sandwich could have been great if they were more generous with the filling. Compare these to that god awful Morrisons pie!!! Great video

the bread is always important! I strongly prefer sourdough breads. I also must have mayo and mustard, which weren't on any of the sandwiches you had? did I miss my favorite condiments?

The Japanese chicken sandwhich either had a pink sliced side of dicon radish or pickled ginger! First two for me as the 3rd one did not appeal to me.They all looked a pretty substancial feed.

It didn't look that big on your plate but once you picked it up you could see that it was a real good sized sandwich there. My big complaint about the Italian sandwich is that you didn't get much meat with it. It looked like very tasty salami, but so thin you could probably see thru it if you held it up to the lamp. I might lean a bit more to the third sandwich, I'm a big fan of Vietnamese food, but the Japanese sandwich looked amazing. I'll go with your call since you actually got to taste them.

You were very unlucky with that banh mi. It was definitely sub par. Hope you manage to find a better Vietnamese restaurant that does a more authentic job. Here in Australia the banh mis are amazing!

Italian looked great .Japanese looked equally good , wow the Vietnamese sounded amazing , so impressed that Vietnam have embraced French influence and don’t bear any grudge given the brutal colonisation

Not much for 9 quid the first one. The Japanese one looked delicious and actually worth the 11 quid. Third one doesn't look worth the money.

The 1st one looks very small it you look at the amount of filling for what you are paying. 1st one. £9.25 with drink 2nd one £11.20 and 3rd was £9.99 the 2nd one looks so much bigger the bread is more like a cake, the chicken is a more expensive item. the added pickle looked more like red onion and it looked better in its box. it would have been good to breakdown the sandwich and drink. since I can not see each drink being the same price the third one looked like a subway with out any salad. it look not full. the balls looked cut in half too.

there was not really that much more meat in the 3rd one. its almost like a subway but less salad and more money. but yes the 1st one for what you are paying was more bread than content. if you are going to be paying that much you want it full.
