There were about 6.000. But was first and foremost a TV broadcast and is still the most viewed live TV- show in history with around 1,5 billion people (in a world with only 4,2 billion people). In Africa, they showed it in cinema`s, etc. Elvis usually had between 12.000 - 20.000 in conserts (outside Vegas) as he wanted people seating inside. His record consert was about 61.000 in Pontiac Silverdome, Detroit.

This was the first live concert via satellite shown around the world and over 1 billion people tuned in.

He did a residency in Vegas every aug-sept and then again Jan-March timeframe. It varied but was a month of shows, 2 times a day (dinner and midnight) from aug 69 to 77. 2 months of shows a year, with 2 shows a day (sometimes 3) and every show sold out. 69, 70 (Elvis on stage feb, and That’s the way it is, Aug) are can’t miss. I love all the shows and they offer them with amazing sound quality. You can get other shows from later on, but theyre sound boards. An American Trilogy in feb of 72 is a great show. Oh I’m guessing that arena Held 7500 people maybe 10,000. The irony is that that show was a charity benefit and it raised $75,000.. Meanwhile when Elvis flew to Hawaii he stopped at his house in Beverly Hills and went on a shopping spree of $100,000 worth of jewelry just for himself LOL. And in the TV special Halfway through he thanks that all those people together came up with 75 grand meanwhile he spent 100 grand on jewelry for himself LOL

Funny thing is Elvis didn't like being called 'The King.' He said Jesus Christ was King. I simply call him the GOAT. As far as the crowd you mentioned, this was actually a smaller venue for Elvis, especially since a quarter of it was blocked off for the stage. He did a rehearsal show the night before in front of 8,000 and the live concert had roughly the same attendance. Didn't really matter because it was being beamed via satellite and seen overall by 1.5 billion people. Usually on tour, every seat was made available at venues ranging from 15k to 22k. Always sold out...so fast that they often had to add an additional concert, a lot of times during the same day, so he'd do an afternoon and evening concert.

I believe elvis sold out every concert.and Vegas. I seen elvis twice and we waited in line for days for tickets.
