Our journey into wild/feral hog hunting started like many others living in rural communities. We didn't start hog hunting for fun or sport... we did it because we had to. You see, hogs cause millions of dollars of damage and destruction each year in rural communities and our situation was no different. Hogs were destroying our land and that our of friends and family. The vast majority of hunting stories that you hear about on this channel are hogs, boars and sows, taken from family land... this problem is personal for us...

Coyotes and Predators, similar to hogs, cause financial stress for many families in rural communities. Coyotes kill livestock, plain and simple. Ranchers have battled coyotes killing cattle since the early days of ranching and it costs them dearly. Cattle ranching is a business, the cows aren't pets, every time they lose a calf to a coyote those families lose a paycheck. Cattle ranchers hate coyotes just as much as Farmers hate hogs! We hunt coyotes to protect the livelihood of our friends and neighbors that depend on their cattle business to feed their family...

How many different reticle settings are there? Not the types of reticles, but how many different ones so you can have different zeros for different rifles or different loadings.

5 different reticles and each reticle can be zeroed for a different rifle/ammo etc so 5 different profiles

Does the TS35-640 come standard from the Manufacturer with the QD mount pre-installed? I had another vendor tell me the mount is not included with the scope out of the box.

Kenny, thanks for watching. The Rattlers all absolutely come with an American Defense mount unless it’s not a legit new scope for some reason. Most likely three dealer just has no idea anything about what he’s selling. Give Jason and Hans a call at Outdoor Legacy and do business with them. It will be the best decision you’ve made!😎

I just got one. I really like it. Only one issue, and I’m curious to see if you have the same experience Hans - i notice a side to side motion lag when panning. I feel like i shouldn’t be seeing that with a 50hz device.

I just noticed that at a show where they had them on display. I mentioned it to the vendor, but it stopped doing it and I never got it to repeat the problem. Just one quick refresh issue and then back to normal...

@@10thAveFreezeOut Thanks for the reply. With it being a year old thread I didn't expect that. I have some experience with microprocessors (like the ESP32) and I would be willing to bet this is an issue for the unit when it's crunching the color palette or possibly a buffering issue. Do you know if these units support any sort of firmware upgrade that may have resolved the issue?

PSA... Just found out that the rechargeable CR123 batteries have slightly different lengths. I almost broke the cover on my Rico Bravo trying to close it.

Learned that lesson on lights after buying a bunch of rechargables...IF YA BUY OLIGHT RECHARGABLES THEY ARE THE CLOSEST TO STANDARD CR123'S AND WORK FINE IN ALL MY APPLICATIONS

UPDATE: - Wraith Factory IR... Ran out of my stockpile of regular CR123s and had to replace batts in the factory IR and within min of turning on the IR light was too hot to keep my hand on...not sure if that's the rechargable batts or the IR...weird...@Jason_Robertson: Do you know if the Wraith IR has any prob w rechargables?

I think it depends on if you can live with going down to the 2x base mag vs the 3x on the Super Hogster.

Does any thermal scope have audio on it?

Yes, Pulsar, NVision Halo X's, and the iRay Rico 640 all have on board audio

Personally, I’d rather use a separate recorder for sound because onboard sound quality on a scope is CRAP, relatively speaking. If you’re going to create anything other than ‘boom whop’ short clips, like a video of your whole hunt that includes non-thermal footage mixed in, you’re going to WANT better audio. You can do it like Jason and Hans do, with their phones BUT a really good (actually much better) option would be to pick up a Rode Wireless GO (that’s the older model and can be found pretty cheap used) or the new Rode Wireless GO all mic system. Search here on KZfaq and you’ll find 1,783,194 reviews. They’re tiny microphones with onboard recording and internal microphone of PROFESSIONAL quality. I have them for videography work I do for some hunting TV shows. Thermal video, even at high quality, really isn’t that great to look at; let’s be real. However, if you combine that video with SUPER clear and realistic audio, it’ll vastly improve the viewer experience. If you take it to the next level and mix your thermal footage with b-roll from a newer mobile phone camera or a video camera, and you have terrific sound throughout the video…. You’ll come out with a result that people will REALLY enjoy and that will set your videos apart from others! If you’re spending )3k, $4k, $5k on a scope, I can’t see how spending a couple hundred bucks on a tiny professional microphone that clips to your shirt or jacket collar is a burden or a financial stretch. Hope this helps!

@@wcsdiaries One way: You can attach or carry a compact audio system like the Rode Wireless GO II and combine it with the video in post. DJI makes a great system also. It’s easy.

You should have called Hans and Jason at Outdoor Legacy. That’s why they put out all these videos and offer to help their customers. These guys know their stuff. If you didn’t buy from them you cost your self!
