How to Make Almond Milk:
While you can easily purchase almond milk from the store, making it at home is also an option. Here's a simple recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup raw almonds
4 cups filtered water
Optional: sweetener such as stevia or dates, vanilla extract
Instructions:
Soak the almonds in water overnight or for at least 6 hours. This softens the almonds and makes them easier to blend.
Drain and rinse the soaked almonds.
In a blender, combine the soaked almonds with 4 cups of filtered water. You can adjust the water amount depending on how thick you like your almond milk.
Blend on high speed for about 1-2 minutes until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Strain the almond mixture through a nut milk bag, cheesecloth, or fine mesh sieve to remove the almond pulp. Squeeze or press the mixture to extract as much milk as possible.
If desired, sweeten the almond milk with a natural sweetener like stevia or dates, and add a splash of vanilla extract for flavor.
Store the almond milk in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days. Remember to shake it well before using as it may separate over time.
