You know what's really fucked up about "the secret butterfly society" as you called it? Over 10 years ago (maybe even close to 20 years ago now), the butterfly symbol had a very specific meaning to a very specific group of people. There was something called "The Butterfly Project" which was a project AGAINST self harm. If you were someone who cut or burned yourself (anything similar to that), The Butterfly Project encouraged you to draw a butterfly in permanent marker on yourself wherever you self harmed, to name that butterfly after someone you love, and the idea was to not "kill" the butterfly through self harm or by scrubbing off the permanent marker prematurely. That project had such a major influence and impact on my teenage years that I now have a permanent butterfly tattoo right above the scars I have from self harm. The fact that the butterfly is now essentially being used as a pro-suicide symbol is disgusting and heart-wrenching to me.

Honestly, I think people really underestimate Eugenia. Sure, she acts and sounds dumb with her fake, high-pitched tone and saying "like", "yeah," and "you know" every 5 seconds, but she's not actually dumb. She's very manipulative and calculating. She makes a conscious decision to put on a fake tone and gaslight her audience. She's also very well aware of her ED and how her appearance and actions are going to be perceived by her audience. Eugenia literally thrives off of the hate and attention she gets. She's not innocent, she's not naive, and I'm not so sure I buy the rumors that she's autistic either. If she is, then she's very high functioning in my experience. Her brain, like the rest of her body, is literally starving to death. So sure, she may have a mental disability in that regard, but given the circumstances, she's pretty sound of mind. With Jeffrey, she's just desperate for friends and attention. Jeffrey also supports her ED. Her friendship with him is beneficial in many ways to her. He brings her attention, he supports her ED, and he creates controversy, which we know she thrives on. So ofc she's going to kiss his butt. She may truly not know that he's using and trolling her because of her lack of experience with social interactions and friendships. But she is not naive or ignorant to what SHE is doing online and why she is getting hate for it. Yes, Jordy, she's well aware. The whole pretending she doesn't understand why she gets hate, that's definitely an act. Or pretending she doesn't understand why her account is getting taken down 🙄 I believe at some point Eugenia was a genuinely good person but that Eugenia is long, long gone at this point. It's sad. She doesn't want help. I don't have any sympathy for her at this point. And that's my Ted talk 😅 sorry for the rambling rant. I'm just so over her bs at this point.

I wonder if recovery is also out of the question for her because it would change her entire life. It sounds great to us when we push our fantasies onto her of recovering, but currently, it's not her fantasy. We daydream about her getting healthy- projecting what we want out of another person's life onto them. But if she wants to recover, first she'll have to figure out the damage done to her body, knowledge she will then have to live with. She'll probably have to go off the internet at least for a while, some of her high paying fans might go astray. If she recovers, she will have to figure out what do career wise. People are saying they'd love for her to recover and 'sell' her story. I feel like we're now demanding she entertain us from afar by letting us watch her recover. Does she know how to live a normal life? How to pay bills? Get groceries? Cook? Clean? Get a job? Start a 401k? Take herself to the doctor? If she moves out of her mom's house and happens to stay single, she will be totally alone, unless she finds a roommate, and even then she will be taking care of herself. All she has to do for now is hang out in her room. Maybe the adult world feels too 'big' to her.

When a person gets banned doesn't it usually say that the profile is banned or not available? I think she's trolling, to me it looks like she just deleted her profile pic and bio to make it look like she was banned and keep people talking. That stuff is easy to take down and put back up but not the videos, but I don't use the app so I don't know for sure. You are right when you say that she doesn't openly promote ana or instruct people, but she is always telling people that she feels fine and is perfectly healthy despite the way that she looks which is just not possible. She and her mom say that she eats and takes good care of herself, that she goes to doctors for checkups and gets blood work done and everything is always fine. That can be just as dangerous because it's giving the impression that it's healthy and normal to be in this condition when it's not.

My poor husband had never seen EC. Somehow one of her videos popped up on his tik tok account. He started watching it thinking it was something funny because he watches mostly funny videos. Last night we were both watching videos on our iPads. He jammed his iPad in front of my face where I was suddenly looking at yet another shock video of EC bobble heading through a video and the look of HORROR on my poor husband’s face was so sad. He said, “LOOK at this…” I had to explain her to him. It was so sad to see his face fall with each new bit of info I told him. We have a lot of nieces (and nephews) and to see a young woman doing this to herself. I pulled up a couple of her other videos and I thought he was going to vomit. The “alleged” fetish videos literally hurt him to hear. Her potential influence over younger people is unacceptable in his opinion. I dont know if you've heard about a You Tuber named Amy Ellis, that recently passed from Anorexia. The absolutely infuriating thing, is that Amy wanted to LIVE, she knew she needed help, but just was told she didnt "meet the criteria" for treatment she needed. I think she was from England, i'm not sure, but she tried to do fund raisers to help her pay for treatnent, but she kept getting turned away, and she ultimately ended up passing away. And here's Eugenia, making a mockery of the fact that she's actually dying, and refusing help, snd making a mockery of getting treatment, She is SICKENING. Amy was just as bad appearance wise as Eugenia, in fact, Eugenia looks worse, so i don't even understand HOW shes alive and Amy isn't, except for the fact that Amy was older. Amy KNEW she was dying, and could not fight it alone, and WANTED to live. Eugenia just doesn't CARE. I wish Amy was helped, she was such a good, kind, sweet person, unlike Eugenia, who only pretends to be those things. I remember the whole thinspiration thing on tumblr. I’d look though the hashtag and hate myself (I was a chubby teen too) I eventually started to cut back on eating meals, chugging water before every meal, when I did eat I only ate half of my plate. It has an impact on children/teens because they don’t have a full developed brain. I had help to see what I was doing could kill me, I really wish EC could get help before it’s too late. Unfortunately, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.
