I have both the el 34 and 6l6 combos.The el34s for the win.The 34 is the marshall jcm 800 we wish we had in the 80s.

I’ve been luck enough for have owned both and the el34 is king. Primarily because it’s sits in the mix way better. If you are just playing at home the 6l6 stealth is fantastic but in the mix the el34 has the mids you need to cut. My 2cents.

Keep it. The blue channel on the EL34 100 has that hot rodded British vibe that sets it apart from the other EVH amps.

It's a keeper. I have said it before, and I'll hold my ground on this - I like it better than the Stealth. It's more organic like the older amps from the 70's n 80's but still with that modern aggression. I am not saying the Stealth is bad. theres just a lot of high gain 6l6 family powered amps. The EL34 EVH is just different enough to be really refreshing - even if it was just as a double tracker to add some depth to a mix.

I don't see the need to sell it, even when you have the stealth and the iconic. If I was you, I will compare it with those amps and even with a Dover da50. Nice content as always dude!

just the wall of sound that comes out of those 100 watt heads with what 8 JJ and 4 6L6 or EL34 I would think if you need to sell either of the EVH 100 watt I would sell myself before the heads .. pound cake

I thonk this amp souds better than the stealth. More sparkle and clarity. Better clean channel in the El34.

My gut says keep it, but I also don’t really think it’s different enough from the stealth to justify. I have compared them back to back several times and I feel it’d be pretty redundant to own both, but I gladly would if I had the means to justify it. Lol I love the look of the el34 but I do slightly prefer the stealth.

Dude don't sell it,you will regret it. I'm trying to get the money together for the combo 5150 amp,I've has back surgery and hand surgery so my money is tight, but if I could get one I'd never sell it. Thx for the hard work you and your wife do for us. God bless you and your family

Heyy mate! Have you compared the stealth version to the OG? What are your opinions on that? Of course I mean the 100watt heads.

I'm pretty sure I did that a while back. I prefer the stealth because it's more aggressive and I like the gain structure better. It has a more aggressive top end when compared to the og. The OG still sounds great but it's a bit noisy in comparison and it's a bit softer on the top end as well.

This is the best amp ever made in terms of its sound alone. The blue channel is literally flawless. Mine is broken at the moment but I am not selling or trading it, I'm saving up to get it fixed. It is that good imo.

Interesting that you say yours is broken. I was told by a local amp tech to not waste money on an EVH. Do you have any idea what’s wrong with yours? Thanks.

@@Viper_75th_RR had it for several years now, it crackles away (old tubes) but you can usually still play with that sound as old tubes don't typically screw with tone. But about six months year ago, it lost nearly all of its all low end resonance, like the high filter just gave up. I haven't taken it to the repair shop yet (not many around where I live anyways) because if I scoop out almost all of the high end, it's still playable. It's probably just a pot, or it could be that the resonance circuit is damaged. But I won't know for sure what the diagnosis is until I take it to a tech.

Jarrod I see a EVH 5150 III100S Stealth like you have then there is another one that is Ivory in color and is called EVH 5150 III 100. Are these not the same exact amp except for cosmetics? The Ivory one 2,000 verses the stealth for $2,450. Please tell me is there some other difference?

There certainly are differences in all three of the EVH 5150III line of amps. The Ivory (original) 51250III is not as aggressive as the Stealth or the EL34 variants. Less features as well.

Sell it. No reason to keep 2 almost same amps. I would replace it with 6505II. I have stealth 100 6l6 and both new Peavey. They all are different.

I came here after seeing the Sonic Drive Studios video on the EL34 50w blue channel. I still hope Fender addresses the blue channel issues on the 50w or makes a 20w EL34. I’m considering the combo one but I still need to see if the blue channel on the combo is better before sinking over $1000 on the combo.

Thanks for commenting. I definitely understand your concern regarding the blue channel. that said, you can get a mod done to it that fixes the issue and makes it sound a lot better.

I have evh 50 stealth and 100s el34 i think this is best evh combination..two amp has good clean but 100s 6l6 clean is not really clean.

These EVH heads and combo amps are made by fender not peavey.

This is one of the best amps, you shouldn't sell it. Better go sell the iconic one. Also, you shouldn't be playing it through mesa, you should be playing it through ENGL, in my humble opinion. Stealth is worse than the EL34, again, in my humble opinion. Another opinion on the boosting - why do you think this particular amplifier gets better when boosted? I honestly can't say that I like it more boosted, I never boost it, cause it is already there. For everything else I have an EQ pedal. Aha! I actually get not why you want to boost it. Because you are using the MESA cabinet which is voiced for MESA amplifiers, not for EVH. Of course it would sound dull and too much "deep and far away". Just use the ENGL cabinet with it, it gets what you want without a boost this way.

What up Jarrod I been wanting a stealth since they came out, but I have an original script 5150 and can't justify getting it. Carcass used 5150s and Machine head and sometimes when you have a bunch of distorted amps, they become very subtle differences at least that's how it seems to me. I would personally like to hear the difference between a 5150 script and a stealth in person in the room. as for your question tho sell it fund a wizard mtl 100

I would hang onto this amp. Fender is faced with clearing out an estimated 100 MIllion dollars of amps and guitar leftover from the pandemic. I suspect that Fender will drastically reduce prices and offer all kinds of incentives to sell product. And if new product is cheaper, it becomes very hard to sell gear for what its worth. All that being said, MESA BOOGIE is a horrible company and their amps are 1 notch below Pyramid Car Audio gear from the 80s.
