Believe it or not, this moment was even more effective in the book. It spends the entire chapter going through Inigo's backstory. From the murder of his father to training with the sword until he is one of the best in the world to failing to find the 6 finger man to drunkenly following a criminal to using his left hand for funsies. His internal monologue as he fights Wesley gets progressively more jargon-y as he begins to realizes that he's met a near equal, but he always has this bit of reserved confidence because he and the reader both know he's holding back. It's one of the best power drops in all of fiction and it uses asymetric info beautifully.

In Brazilian Portuguese, the word for ass is "bunda". So imagine my surprise during the film when vegeta screams at the top of his lungs. "THAT'S MY ASS".

One of my favourites is so nonchalont it feels like cheating in overlord the main character, a hyper-powerful litchking mage, faces againgst a general. this general anounces he will summon his ultimate angel, and even the main character is scared. the general summons a whole-ass angel and the main character just says "i was worried for a second" and obliterates it or theres the time adventurers met him and one said that he didnt look powerful. he procedes to take off the ring and the adventurer throws up because his magic aura is so strong and he just doesnt care

One of my favortie Flash moments (not really a power up) is when he just talks to the Trickster in the bar and convinces him to just get back on his meds. Not fighting not crazy battles just one guy talking to another guy. Flash is literally one of the best heros in DC

My favourite moments are Captain America’s and Thor’s entrance in infinity war, as well as iron man’s fight with Thanos in Infinity war. Also another one is THAT scene from Endgame with Cap and a certain item.

Gotta love Vegeta's second Final Explosion against Toppo in Dragon Ball Super. Last time it completely obliterated him, and everyone thought he was going to die. He then laughs in their faces after eliminating a God of Destruction.

Isn't that whole show just a build up to that final episode? I haven't been so hyped about giant robots since Gunbuster, but it was pretty novel the way they kept using one to pilot the next bigger version. Also, if you haven't already seen Gunbuster, go watch it. It's only 6 episodes long, but it's an epic story full of the feels.

So I'm sure that someone else had already posted it but so you know Karl, but the reason that Molly Weasely suddenly became a badass was that in HP, love is a direct power increase, best exemplified by Harry's mom sacrificing herself. Because of the intense love felt by Molly, she was capable of feats unbeknownst of anything that could be done or seen by Bellatrix

The flash momentum punches is what i think about power up moments in tv series. My favorite power up in anime recently is when Reigen in Mob Psycho beats Claw hig ranks while scolding them.

Call of Duty: Black Ops campaign. Midway through you get a flashback mission where you watch another character die like a lab rat. Because I was so attached to that character I sprinted the latter half of the mission and killed everyone with a sliver of health because I refused to take cover. Karl’s Hyper Beam moment reminded me of this.

Devil May Cry 5 Final Mission: Nero had lost his arm, been call dead weight, discovered his father is alive and was the one who cut his arm off, and now he will fight against him. In this boss fight you gain a new mecanic call "Devil Trigger" who give you a demon-god-like form. when active, Nero screams F*** You and show the mid finger to his dad before start to whoop his ass. For me this was one the best F*** You moment in games history

A real one from history I love is Robert Cain. He was in the battle of Arnhem where he ended up having an anti tank weapon blow up in his face and being blinded and burned by it. 45 minutes later he walked back out into the fight, picked up another anti tank gun and proceeded to kill 2 tiger tanks in half a minute

The dramatic QuickTime cutscene bits at the ends of big boss fights in darksiders 2 where death goes reaper form on these giant monstrosities and just rips em a new one or two... Death is just an awesome character in general

I think one of the best moments like this was in the Rundown, towards the end of the movie. The whole film The Rock has talked about how he hates guns, and they take him to a bad place, and he never uses them. But then he's laying there behind a wall, bullets flying all around him, everyone on his side about to die...and then the Scottish pilot starts quoting "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night", and as he finishes The Rock just flips a switch in his brain picks up the shotguns next to him and goes HAM on everything. Great movie. Great moment.

Not exactly what y’all talked but I always like when you knock an opponent down in mortal kombat, then they get back up and dust themselves off for the next round. So simple, yet so badass to me.

There's a number of times in the manwha God of Highschool where the main character loses his temper and just goes deadly calm. It's this "you hurt my friends. This could have been easy for you, but now I'm taking my time with it" moment. It's just so well executed too.

I like Superman's in Superman vs. The Elite, where he overpowers them so much that he makes them all give up in fear of how powerful he actually is, and in awe of how much he's held back in previous fights
