Pitches For Isaiah Bradley Disney+ prequel series based on Truth: Red, White and Black (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) spin-off series

Season 1 finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier could tease Elijah Bradley take some of the Flag Smasher Super Soldier Serum, become Patriot and the Young Avengers in upcoming MCU/Disney+ project!

I think you miss something in your critique of the flagsmashers not being a threat that warrents this response. They have the super soldier serum, which is a very big deal and is talked about directly on screen many times (so we know its not a coverup for the vaccines). Many marvel movies are directly about tech falling into the wrong hands. Cap 1, iron man 1 and especially 2 and kinda 3, and so on. The winter soldier's arc with the US government clearly set them on edge with letting enhanced individuals running around, the flag smashers are spitting on the sakovia accords which is probably very fragile right now, and the scarlet witch just kidnapped a town for a month or two. This level of response is 100% to be expected from the US to regain control of supers and remain the main global superpowers super power

So newest episode, for me at least, explained the ideology of the flag smashers perfectly. they have done great with the writing imo

It's definitely a threat, no doubt, but I feel the same way nando does, it doesn't feel like the type of a threat that would require such drastic action as one of the first steps

Agreed, I think if people got the bit about the super soldiers in Civil War they'd get it here in both the goal isn't to destroy the villains (Zemo/Flagsmashers) but the larger picture which is neutralize the super soldiers issue by preventing Zemo from awakening them or in this case allow more to be created through potentially what the vaccines secretly are.

And also they pose a global threat, cuz in civil war they talk bout how the other super soldiers have an enhanced ability for learning too. So they all end up speaking every language in existence and can hypothetically overthrow or hold a government hostage

@Luis It doesn't matter what their motivations are. The point is the possibility EXISTS that more soldiers can be created. Even the smashers themselves aren't doing it, SOMEONE ELSE like the Powerbroker could for their own ends.

Then the writers should have said that. Under any other context, the implication of the threat you're describing would be pretty obvious. However, this is a universe where purple monsters can rain down from the sky and shoot laser beams on any given Sunday. A group of guys that can punch and kick really hard doesn't exactly scream threat in and of themselves.

His video on it was really good though and definitely worth watching even if you don't watch the movie (which I didn't)

@@graysonfost8679 I agree they could've/should've gone to Wakanda for intel and resources before breaking out Zemo. Bucky felt like Zemo's knowledge of hydra and the SSS would be a strong enough lead but in the end this SSS had nothing to do with Hydra and they could've turned to an ALLY to track down Dr. Nagel. Madripoor wouldn't have been unknown to the Wakandans. The powerbroker's existence seems like it would be on the radar of multiple world governments and if Sam and Bucky are looking into the flagsmashers it wouldn't take too long to uncover that the powerbroker is after Karli and investigate the connection. Ultimately I'm not too bothered by Zemo's inclusion, I enjoyed him. But he should've got lost after he killed Nagel. He wasn't needed anymore after that and they undermine the title characters by making it the Zemo show.

I believe the spider-man solo films have some sort of odd legal redtape that makes it so they cant be super tightly connected. I could be wrong, but ive seen and heard that from a few sources regarding some of the characterizations

and if America is getting involved to get the vaccines for themselves that means the disease also made it's way into the american continent, before or after the blip, who knows, there are a couple of lines in Wandavision that lead to believe they could have referenced the pandemic, like in the Monica blipped back scene a nurse or a doctor saying "We don't have the capacity" and Hayward talking about how hard things were during the blip, without explicitly saying what is it that happened during those 5 years that is so bad.

I mean it takes place 8 months later, where FATWS takes place earlier. Where it probably would've been resolved

like the guy above me said, FFH is several months after WV and FATWS. hopefully 7 months after we’re all vaccinated, we won’t still be living like we’re in a pandemic

Yeah, writing a fictional pandemic when one isn't going on is one thing But, a fictional pandemic during a real pandemic seems a bit in poor taste. It'd depend how they handled it of course, but. Disney isn't know for taking risks.

They'd literally just need a disclaimer: Falcon & The Winter Soldier was written and produced before Covid-19. We have no intention to make light of a worldwide pandemic and do our best to treat it with the utmost respect. We apologise for any offence given. They could also have given a portion of proceeds to Covid relief charities, but. Well. Disney.

Zemo studied all the Hydra secrets Nat dumped on the internet in The Winter Soldier. He knows more about the super soldier program than even Thaddeus Ross who's been failing at recreating it since Incredible Hulk. Also... he was on Bucky's list so...maybe he has other plans for him.

falcon and winter soldier happens only a few months after the return of people, so it would not really work if there was a whole pandemic with lots of deaths + a vaccine made & distribution in like three or so months. nice theory though.

He went from a government sponsored superhero to laying down his shield and going rogue by the end; even though the movie has 90% of the Avengers cast in it, I’d argue Steve was the one most impacted.

There weren’t any reshoots that delayed the release date until after WandaVision though. The only thing that delayed it to after WandaVision is Covid.

Not to mention if there was a pandemic, I would have assumed Peter and co would not have been allowed to go to Europe in the first place. Not to mention no one has any trouble with Bars and nightclubs or Sharon's party.

Remember this got big reshoots and that scenes with many people, like Walker killing that guy, were made in reshoots. Also the scoop came from a extensively reliable source, the same guy that knew Evan Peters had a secret role a whole year before Wandavision aired. Additionaly, remember Civil War started with that bioweapon that Crossbones wanted. This could have thematically tied this show to the movies even more.

We don’t know how far into production the pandemic storyline would’ve gotten, it could’ve been cut before filming started.

JP Yes but the hand of one is the hand of all. All of Karli’s accomplices are complicit in the murder of those GRC staff. Most legal systems recognize/utilize some form of the “hand of one, hand of all” legal philosophy. In addition, there are other associative charges such as aiding and abetting and felony murder. Those Flag Smasher’s were currently and willing engaged in the act of committing numerous crimes, of which many were undoubtedly felonious, as they committed these crimes their leader executed the premeditated murder of at least a dozen people, thereby all Flag Smashers could at the very least be charged with felony murder. Furthermore, it’s apparent that Karli Morganthau is the leader of at least her group/faction/cell of Flag Smashers, it is unknown if she is the founder and demagogue of the entire movement. I’m going to lean toward assuming that Karli is the progenitor of the Flag Smashers seeing as how the idea of this radicalized organization, some of it’s ideals, it’s logo, and it’s name is all an adapted reimagining of a singular comic villain code named Flag Smasher a.k.a _Karl_ Morganthau - which Karli is a gender swapped adaptation of herself. Which leads me to the possibility that they could all potentially be subject to the full severity of being charged equally to Karli herself. If Nuremberg taught us anything, it’s that “I was following orders” doesn’t fly anymore, and that’s for enlisted soldiers in a legitimately recognized national military-these guys are the ragtag lieutenants of an increasingly violent ideologue in a radicalized terrorist militia.

But that doesn't explain why people were willing to help them out, bioweapon terrorists don't tend to be popular with the common folk.

How does that make the series make any more sense? Literally how?

They didn't write the show to be about pandemics or a commentary on coronavirus and then censor it due to cowardice. They possibly wrote a story that used a pandemic as a plot point and then changed it after the real world had a terrible pandemic.

I don't think he's _okay_ with it. Indeed, I'm pretty sure he's pretty uncomfortable with it, especially when it leads to his having to act Winter Soldier-y again as part of the undercover operation. But in the absence of any other options, I think he's accepted that the situation is more important than his discomfort.

I personally thought that it was just to highlight the poor conditions of the refugee camps. That a disease that had been pretty well handled in the west and wasn’t exactly prominent anymore was making a resurgence due to the poor conditions of the camps.

That act happened after Zemo had already broken out. Before then Sam and Bucky were borderline sympathetic to the group (especially in their conversation with Walker), the same group they then decided was enough of a threat solely by virtue of being super soldiers that they risked helping Zemo. Maybe that factor really is enough to mark them as a threat, but considering that characters like Crossbones were running around while Jessica Jones and Luke Cage were supposed to unofficially be in the MCU as well, it all feels really arbitrary to the level of response. After all plain old bombings and thefts are usually police level jobs, and if the dastardly plan is to pass out vaccines to refugees... it just doesn't feel like an Omega level threat that needs Captain America on the job.
