Congratulations 🎉 you’re doing great. I have just recently finished my first 5 day fast. Previously, the longest was 3 days. My husband was the greatest supporter, because I wanted to give up on day 3. I pushed through and days 4 and 5 were a breeze. Something changed and I had a abundance of energy. I felt like I could keep going, but I also wanted to eat. It’s currently Day 29/4 weeks of this journey. My average fast is 19 hours. I’ve completed a 3 day and a 5 day fast, over the past 29 days. Total weight lost is 17.6 lbs. I have about 30 lbs left to reach goal weight. I would like to encourage people to work up to a longer fast and the fully commit to yourself. Cheers 🎉

My favourite thing about fasting is not having to think about what I will eat each meal, each day. Decision fatigue. When I do eat, I eat an animal-based diet, gluten free by necessity, low carb for satiety, because life is too short not to enjoy blue cheese dressing with chicken wings 😊.

I’ve been avoiding my family and friends for so many years because of my weight. I put on so much weight I was so ashamed and embarrassed when I seen anybody I knew because that’s not the person that they remember. So this hits home for me majorly. Thank you for this!

For me fasting was the beginning of a new era. I was overwight at the time, almost hitting 100 kg, and I said to myself no more. It all started during the pandemic. I begun eating less, I was working from home all the time, so no energy to spend whatsoever. I read about water fasting a lot, I'm still doing it. And one day, I said I won't eat for 5 days in a row, it didn't matter I was at my period, that's not a good time to start, but I was determined to change my metabolism rate and ultimately my life and my relationship with food. I've never been a foodie, but I like sweets and all kinds of salty goodies. That happened in 2020. I lost almost 30 kg, I gained a bit of weight in the last 4 years like 7 kg. My goal is to maintain my weight and even to lose those extra kgs. After those 5 days of no eating, just drinking water, I lost a bit of weight and got rid of a plateau I was staying in for too long. Since then, I use intermitent fasting as a powerful tool to control my weight. After almost 4 years, it's working but you have to vary more the window when you eat because the body gets used to when you eat and it's not as efficient as before. I'm beyond pleased I took the decision to make this change. I'm literally a different person mentally, physically and even spiritually. This change expanded to all areas of my life. I can dettach easier from things, people, thoughts, limiting beliefs that no longer serve me, as I dettached from those kilos. It's not an easy journey, trust the process, embrace it fully, and educate yourself reading and watching stuff on the matter! It keeps me on this path, because there will be times when you want to give up or to return to old bad habits. There's no turning back, for me it wasn't just a way to lose weight, it was a way to become a healthier person at all levels. It's a lifestyle that comes with a lot of benefits. No diet can be kept for so long no matter how disciplined you are. That's what fasting brought into my life DISCIPLINE, not motivation but discipline!!! And not to lose this good habit from time to time I water fast for 3 days, I want to reach 7 days but I'm not there yet. Thank you, Jerome, for sharing your story, it's fascinating what we can do to ourselves in a good or bad way! Happy life to you all!

Hey dude, @finallyfasting I only just discovered your channel and vids . Firstly, excellent content . I done a 15 day water fast historically and several 3 and 5 day type ones. I also had amazing success on IF and OMAD specifically. I lost over 40 pounds in 5 months that but fell off the wagon 3 years later during the pandemic. I'm just building up myself psychologically to do a 5 day water fast then going back to OMAD with very low carbs and sugar. It's a bit if a minefield looking up videos on the above but I reslly like your videos and working my way through them. You state very good and realistic points so I just thought I'd let you know I really approve. Thanks for the motivation

You have really inspired me! Thanks so much for sharing! My medical team has recommended an elimination protocol, so I tried carnivore but experienced meat aversion. So, I’m starting my first rolling fast, followed by carnivore feast or beef broth. It’s easier to fast than to eat “just meat” for me. Eventually I’ll be able to introduce other foods, one step at a time! Goal: reduce inflammation, lose 90 lbs and be able to eat healthy omnivore, without getting inflamed again. I’ve fasted before & find fasting for 3-7 days easier than fasting 24 hours. I look forward to sharing your journey & that of other followers. Keep up the great work! 🙌🏼 Finally fasting!🙌🏼

This is so helpful. You being transparent about the struggles that you have with your body is so relatable in every way. I have always struggled with my weight yo-yoing up and down, but I have always been in a reasonable weight category. After going through cancer treatment and having multiple surgeries, my weight has gone up to the highest it’s ever been. I have done extended 3-5 day water fasting, but I have not done it consistently for weightloss. But instead for cancer prevention I think about all of the times I was unhappy with the way that I looked in photos over my life and now when I look back at those same photos, I realize how beautiful I was. I only wish to go back to that. It’s made me realize that more so than my weight, my mindset needs to change. I am currently starting ADF. I think that is manageable for me in terms of consistency. Thank you for all you are sharing.

I recently found you here on KZfaq I started fasting in summer of 2020 after I had a terrible fight with COVID. I had come across videos talking about it and thought it was a good idea. I still think it’s a good idea. My main problem is my relationship with food. I have a problem with sweets. I do such a good job for a long time and then I start indulging in sweets and junk and have a hard time stopping eating that stuff. My weight has went back up to 200 pounds after months of working my way down to 160 I realize I can moan and groan about it And I did do that for a while But now I’m back to trying to work on healthy habits again I just recently completed a 52 hour fast I’m gonna do OMAD for 5 days and then do a 3 day fast Consistency is what I need to be working on But watching you is super motivating Thank you for sharing your story!

Fasting to lose weight is really hard. It's like asking a lifelong smoker to just quit. Yes, there can be great results, but going this long, your body is deprived of daily nutrients and you will severely lack energy. Here's what I'd suggest. Try going Keto. Don't restrict when you can eat, just how much. You'd be surprised at how many very easy, low carb recipes you can find on KZfaq for breads, desserts and even cake. Many use only a few ingredients. Get out and walk everyday. I got a mini-stepper and I actually look forward to doing my 30-40 minute daily set while watching a virtual running video on KZfaq. I tried some abs, legs and arms workouts as well. And don't forget to make time for 7-10 minutes od stretching beforehand. It makes the difference between achy pain and enjoyment. I gained 25 pounds over the last half year. I intend to lose it. I'm 1 month into my commitment and have lost 9 pounds. The hardest part is actually committing to start.

I went on a fast at a spiritual retreat and I went 12 days and I lost like 20 pounds but I was in an environment where food was not around and now I’m home and I’ve gained it back. Fasting is really hard for the first two or three days but after that it’s easy and I felt good and I had lots of energy. I was walking 2 miles a day at the spiritual retreat. I’m the kind of person that Has to see Immediate results or I won’t stick to it I’ve tried keto and all the recipes that go with it. I just started fasting today. If I can get through these first few days Then I’ll be off and running. I just have to work on my mindset and not go back to the old ways of eating. I wish you the best in your journey of weight loss and health. Thank you for your response it is much appreciated❤

Yesssss!!! An XL to a S in that short of a frame is amazing!! Commitment is showing!! I’m so proud of you!! My big thing is taking my before photos, and starting my journey all over again also. Same, after regaining the weight. You are such an inspiration!! I started with snake diet and lost over 100 pounds. Bit now gaining 75 of it back is so hard to commit and start over. But I know that is the way. Eating disorders are no joke and I resonate with your story 1000%!!!

Thank you! And yes, before photos (and videos!) can be super motivating! Just remember you’ve done this before and you can do it again! And that you’re not alone ♥️

Thanks so much for the video, your experience just reinforced.my will to go fasting. This will be my 1st time so not really sure where to start. I gained so much weight during covid lockdown and had free access to my fridge. Will check your old vids for tips.

Does fasting make your physical work easier? (Im thinking yes because mental clarity and being in better shape with less weight, but some folks feel it makes it tougher) ...personally its made it easier for me

Absolutely incredible! Thanks for sharing. Do you also exercise or just fasting? Any impact on your sleep, mood, anxiety etc? I wonder if you feel weak or if you your skin feels like it has less glow when you aren’t feeding it all the nutrients?
