Batman begins is terrific. As a child I loved Batman 89. But in that movie Batman was already Batman. Loved Begins, showed how he got his fighting skills and gadgets etc.

Also I love that Batman felt like Batman in Begins and Gotham felt like Gotham and not Chicago. The Trilogy is great. But after Batman & Robin. Begins brought be back as a Batman Fan.

nolan has made more of my favourite movies than speilberg so i would have to say hes better, although speilberg did make raiders, the last crusade and was part of the reason why george lucas made the prequels, but nolan takes it

I'd argue that The Prestige is Nolan's most flawless movie. I can't think of a single bad thing to say about it. I think it should be seen as one of the "perfect" movies like Back to the Future or Jaws.

My hot take: I never really understood the hate for tdkr it is as good as tdk both of these are my fav Nolan movies tdkr has no flaws imo, it also has no plot holes if you focus on the film carefully like the plot hole ppl say is how does batman get out of the pit and get back to Gotham so quickly but if u listen carefully at first fox said the bomb will explode in 23 days and later one gordan said the bomb will explode in 18 or 17 hours so that means batman has over 3 weeks to come back to Gotham and I don't think it will be that hard for him come on he's batman he can find ways in 3 weeks.

@@megastarwarsrocks99 , is that the only argument you can give? Nolan made Inception two years before TDKR, a movie with an impeccable fight scene with the spinning hallway sequence. TDKR has little excuse

Love that I was the first mention among the community tab and my hot take is literally the one people talk about the most! I'll admit that saying "it's not even close" may be an overstatement though I only said that just to grab your attention lol. I will say that Spielberg is objectively the better director but I'm more passionate towards Nolan. Nolan's movies are more rewatchable and 5 of his movies are better than my number 1 favorite Spielberg movie. Btw, I'd love to see you tackle a Spielberg hot take video I got some hot takes from Spielberg's filmmography in mind.

For me TENET is timeless movie, because it's so many detail, so many timeline, so many spectacle and Nolan really push the boundaries of storytelling.

I actually prefer insomnia over memento. I find the story and the characters more engaging. Memento definitely has more interesting concept in terms of storytelling but i don't really care for the story by the end of the day.

Spielberg obviously has a much bigger and more varied body of work, but his worst films (Indy 4, 1941, The BFG) are a lot worse than Nolan's worst film, though for me his best (Raiders, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List) are also much better than Nolan's.

My two cents on some of these: 1. Nolan > Spielberg 2. The Dark Knight Rises > Batman Begins 3. Tenet is underrated 4. The Dark Knight Rises is top 10, possibly top 5 best comic book film. It is severely overhated 5. Nolan is the greatest comic book movie director ever 6. Prestige is top 5 possibly top 3 Nolan film 7. Inception isn’t confusing. 8. Saying Heath is overrated, and not the perfect Joker is outrageous… idk if this is hot take, but Heath as Joker was probably the greatest acting performance of all time. Ever.

I am so glad someone recognizes the Dark Knight Rises, it really doesn't get enough credit, obviously the Dark Knight is still slightly better, but it is on par with it.

There are 2 things in Dark Knight Rises that drive me nuts: 1st - Early in the movie there is an up-close gun shot in the airplane with a semi-automatic pistol and the slide doesn't move. It's very disturbing because he crashed a real plane for that scene and they couldn't use a prop gun with a moving slide? Ridiculous. 2nd - Near the end of the movie, Talia's death scene is so silly. Her acting is elementary school level. I literally laughed in the theater. But now it just makes me mad. That scene should have been emotional - instead it's silly. Fix those 2 things and the movie would be great

Honestly the only negative I can give to The Dark Knight trilogy is the fight choreography. Never been a fan of the elbow fights. Also not a big fan of Bales Batman voice

People who straight up hate on Ledger's joker are so lame. You can dislike the character of joker in that movie but my god Heath Ledger gave an outstanding performance and deserved his oscar. Its a shame he wasnt there to live that glory. Also, i agree. Inception is not confusing to me at all. I understood everything. It was fun

My one and only Nolan hot take is this. Inception is a great film, but that ending sucks ASS. You can't expect to spin the top and then cut to black, expecting me to come up with my own conclusion. I need to know what the definitive ending to the film is.

The ending of The Prestige goes for shock and no actual satisfaction , something nolan usually stirs away from. It's genuinely one of the worst movie endings I've seen and ruins the whole movie.

The fact that you rated Oppenheimer above the Dark Knight Rises in your list and Batman Begins is crininal the film’s dialogue was boring and confusing for most of the film it was like they were trying to tell us 10 different stories at once without even properly explaining it. The film never got to the insights of other main character such as Strauss it said on Wiki he was businessman the movie gave no clue to that we didn’t get to the origins of why Oppenheimer got into science in the first place befoe Cambridge. As far as suspense not one moment was anywhere near as captivating as the reveal of Talia al Ghul. The film was painfully bad from beginning to end Cillian shouldnt even get a Oscar Nomination he was like a Statue from beginning to end hardly ever expreesed himself through his actions

Heath Ledger's Joker is just a terrorist with clown makeup. Yes he was scary and it's a very good performance but not my idea of the Joker from the comic books at all. Nicholson was born to play the Joker just because of his face and embodied the character.

Oh wow, where to start... I think Tenet is better than Inception, I think the Prestige's plot twists are just plain lazy, and I think Nolan has only stopped being hit or miss since Interstellar (which is my most favorite of his to date and I just saw Oppenheimer). Also, I'm not into superhero movies so I'm gonna leave the Dark Knight trilogy out of this. 🥸
