In this video I give my final thoughts on Gunman's Reckoning by Max Brand. This is a Classic Western set in the late 1800's. If you are looking for a different kind of western this just might be the one. I did a buddy read on this book with my good pal Pete ‪@BooklessPete‬ When you are done watching this one and want a different perspective please take a look at Pete's video as well. I'm sure after watching both you will have a really good idea if this book is for you or not. Anyways thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the video...
Thanks,
Jae

Wanna send me something? Stickers, Book Markers, Books, Scratch Off Tickets, Lotter Tickets, Cash, Gold Coins, Keys To A Knew Car, Key's To A New Condo? :)~ Ok so I actually created this because a very kind subscriber of mine wanted to send me some books that I'm trying to collect from my LFL video's. So I thought I'd get a PO Box for things like this as well as any possible Indy authors who wanna get their books reviewed. (Notice I keep pimping this?) LOL I truly hope this doesn't seem pompous of me and I'm truly only doing this so I don't have to give my physical address out.
So anyways the mailing address is:

LOL not too pompous of me was it? Thanks as always for watching and leaving a comment... Just a heads up you are (not mentioned) in one of my upcoming videos... even tho I tagged you... for the life of me I could not remember the name of your channel when I ended my tag video and wanted to tag you. So you are tagged in the description and I put it in writing in the video as well. LOL Won't be until next week but be prepared. When I did this tag I thought of you and was wondering what your take would be on some of the questions.

Thank you... I've been thinking of maybe making one book a month a Western... They are clearly a favorite genre of mine.

Thanks! Our family use to... well my Uncle still does... have a camp and the beach right-a-way is about 500 feet down the lake from that bridge. I ride my motorcycle out there because of how beautiful it is out there.

Beautiful area! Wow, the book sounds very convoluted, lots of plot packed in. Lol the guy comically JUMPS OFF A TRAIN😂😂😂Because someone took his kill...i love it. Lol yes you're everyone's buddy! Great video.

Yes all my subscribers are my buddies. :) Yes this book was super hard to review... even Pete said as much. Yeah the way he jumps off the train is hilarious... he's still talking to the guy who tried to kill him and that guy tells him to be careful he might fall off... and he just jumps off in mid conversation... LOL Thanks for the kind words.

Frederick Faust aka Max Brand aka 11 other pen names wrote the equivalent of 215 full length Western novels plus 40 published non-westerns. He went to Europe in 1944 as a war correspondent and was killed while covering the fighting in Italy in April 1944. He was buried in a Soldiers grave. He wrote a lot of novels that were made into movies. The 1927 movie Destry Rides Again and the 1939 Jimmy Stewart and Marlene Dietrich version of that movie was written by Faust under a pen name. I was going to read a few of his books but I am going to wait until I clear off some of my backlog of Westerns. I would Love to visit the Adirondack Mountains! I Love that region of the country from Upper NY to Maine. I Hate living in the Deep South! Great Video -Jealous!

Wow James that is a lot of interesting facts there. Thank you for sharing... I have heard he was a writing machine. Thank you for share all that... Yes the Adirondack as well VT,NH and Maine are all beautiful country up here... The south has charm too don't forget. Thanks for the comment my friend!

@@FacelessBookReviews . The South does have charm but it also has extreme heat, Humidity! Tornados, Hurricanes, more Humidity! I found all that stuff about Max Brand on Wikipedia, because when I used to buy my Louis L'Amour books as a kid there was another Western writer on display as much as L.L. I thought it was Max Brand but after reading that about him on Wiki, it must've been a different writer?

I just finished reading a L'Amour... lots of gunfights, fist fights, stalking, etc. Maybe you would have liked that better? I think I'd like a western without too many gun battles.

I have a feeling this book might actually be one for you then. I know you like westerns and this was a bit less of what you just mentioned. Way more cat and mouse kind of stuff in this one. You just might enjoy this one the more I think about it. I do love Louis L'Amour tho... :)

Sometimes, the very ending of a book can be the decision to recommend or not. Rarely happens but a good wrap-up or satisfying ending can save it. Never read any of Brands books.

I'm not a big fan of leaving it up to us readers on how we think it might end... I need it all wrapped up like you said... and I prefer them to be happy ending. LOL I'm a sap for happy endings. BTW I think I'm adding Thor to next months TBR...not official but I'm really looking forward to reading that one.
