Wow, this day was chaotic. At 8:40 am as the bell stopped ringing for 2nd period to begin, the alarm started to go off. We were really confused on what was going on. As you can tell from the way the video started and the announcement, this was not a drill. So after about 6 minutes or so, the fire department started showing up, so our first thought as students was that there was a fire. After about 25 minutes, we were ordered back into the building as there was no fire in the building, but instead the system was caused by a faulty smoke detector in carpentry (according to the fire alarm inspector and other sources). The strobe continued to flash for about two hours since the activation, and as you could tell at the end of the video, the teachers were tired of it and decided to break code violation temporarily, but at the end of the day, everything was back to normal(ish). This will go down as one of the craziest Fridays I’ve ever witnessed.
