Fireside Chat: How much? Mama needs an ID! and Progress Reports!

How much are house prices up in the last quarter? Does your mother (or other relative) get a resident ID if she lives with you? We will answer these questions, have several construction updates, and talk about the current new home inventory in The Villages. Dave I just did the same ID for my girlfriend. Its called a "Non Owner Resident ID Card." It requires two forms of ID. The villages helps you with this. The ID allows a person to do everything the owner can. For example, "visitor Guest IDs" are not allowed into the "sports pools" (where they play volleyball and lap swim). The Non-Owner Resident ID allows the person into the sports pools.

I would love 43 degrees. Tomorrow night it’s forecasted to be -23. Yes, 23 degrees below zero. Wish I was in The Villages. Love your fireside chats. I’d be out in the evenings as well.

We bought our house last Friday in The Village of Hammock at Fenny! We will get possession Early March and are very excited. We are currently in Indiana waiting for a big winter storm to arrive. So I guess we will spend this time to start packing.

The Creekside Landings homes that were sold that they considered new were home built sometime around 2010, but have been owned by the villages and used for VIP rentals . I assume that since they were never sold before that they considered them new. Hope that helps!

Hello David. And Brenda and Molly We are looking to move to the villages. So thank you for all your information. On the site of houses we have been seen Oxford oak . And the homes are less expensive and the yards are larger. Can you give us some inside on that area. Is it part of the villages. Thanks Marilyn and Walter

The area of Oxford Oaks is developed by The Villages for families. Areas like these are meant to provide family housing so that workers will move to the area to run all of the stores, businesses, construction etc. Since most of the people living in The Villages are retired it is an ongoing struggle to get enough workers to run those operations. Oxford Oaks does not have golf cart access to The Villages and the residents do not get access to the amenities in The Villages. Note: The town squares are public and anyone can go listen to the music there. So Oxford Oaks does not provide The Villages lifestyle you typically hear about.

Wondering about the progress going east to 470 on Meggison….much dirt being moved, rumor of Exec 9 in that far eastern zone. Wondering about connection near current turnpike exit 96. Keep up good work

I don't fly that area since I have not been able to locate a legal takeoff area that will allow for me to keep a line of sight eye on the drone and cover the almost 3 miles of distance between the 3 new Villages. legally a drone is not allowed to be flown unless you can keep it in site. However, looking at the drawings on The Villages continuing the dream documents Meggison Road appears to enter onto 470 in the middle portion of the Village of Dabney. using google earth to estimate, it appears the driving distance from the intersection of Meggison&470 to the Turnpike will be 1.8 miles. As for an executive course in any of the 3 new Villages (Newell, Lake Denam, and Dabney) I have not heard or seen any indication of an executive course but I could be very wrong! They have listed the recreation amenities for those 3 villages on the "Continuing the Dream" series of documents Volume 8. The only type of golf I see is the MikeyLee pitch and putt in Newell and Jubilee putting course which will also be in Newell. There is supposed to be a lot of golf of all types on the way to Eastport hen that area is developed. time will tell!

Thanks for another great video! Is The Villages going to be building anything in that area below Deluna phase II? I just read about the two non-villages developments that were approved (at Warm Springs & Bingham) and a little south on Marsh Bend Trail.

I have been doing some digging for info, but nothing I have found so far shows them building outside of the area of Deluna 2 that already has the dirt cleared.

Your mother's "Non Owner Resident ID Card.", does it have an expiration date on it?

Yes it does. Her card is good for 3 years. We have not had to renew yet, but I would assume the process will be the same. We will need to prove she still lives here with 2 forms of ID at our residence.

What is a tilt wall?

It is a type of construction being used on the current Courtyard Villas. The walls are precast concrete slabs that are "tilted" into position and secured in place with more concrete. Then the concrete walls are covered in a stucco exterior. This construction is replacing some of the concrete block and stucco construction in The Villages.

Tilt walls …. Withstands more winds, weather elements that vinyl siding. I’m told. ?

I would think so. I am not an expert in that type of home construction, but when you look at how it is constructed it has to be extremely strong.
