The female background singers, The Sweet Inspirations, are saying “chick-a boom, chick-a boom, chick-a boom boom boom boom boom boom, chick-a boom, chick-a boom, chick-a boom boom boom boom boom boom …” You said the music just flows through him, and you are so right. You’ll notice most of the time he is standing in front of the drummer, Ronnie Tutt. They just had a connection that still today is unmatched. Elvis didn’t have choreographed performances … he just went where the music and the rhythm and the beat took him. As for “poke sallet,” it’s real name, like he says it’s something that grows here in the south. I can remember picking them with my mama when we would visit my grandfather, who lived way out in the country. They are similar to turnip greens, but more bitter. Great reaction! And btw … you are so beautiful! Much love ❤️

It wasn't uncommon for people to pass Elvis notes when he was up front interacting with the audience and so he pulled one out of his pocket and read it real quick and then handed it back to a band member. And yeah, I love what the backing singers were doing with that accompaniment near the end. Something along the lines of "chicka booka wow wow", like you would normally hear a guitar from that era doing through a wah-wah pedal effect.

No, I don't think he was reading a note someone gave him. I am quite convinced that it was a note for his lyrics. To remind him of the next lyrics. That's fine. It just attracted even more attention.

I can't tell you how much i love and miss him, there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction. God bless you and your family from the one and only Memphis Tn. Elvis told me all the time you should always know where you stand with people now i know what he meant.

I am pretty convinced the note was about the lyrics. Like he put it in his belt in case he needed a reminder of the next verse, and he took it out, peaked at it, and then gave it to the band. All done very casually. Whatever he did was charming.

Poke salad is wild greens delicious with ham hocks and neckbone's. We were driving or auntie to the store she said stop nephew I said yes ma'am why? She said there's free food out here! I said where what she said get out of the car so me and my wife got out off the car that's poke salad she said let's pick it she said we can eat it now but when it flowers it turns to poison and it will kill you so like Elvis said we pick a mess of it and took it home and cooked it for supper she showed us how with ham hocks neck bones rice and beans😊😊 that was good eating gone Elvis you talk true Southern eating❤😂

Yes am older now 68 but still can sing and perform still I love music and singing I did when I was younger too in the 70s but my ex-,wife made quit it do I did couldn't stand fighting about with her anymore so after 32 years not doing am not marry too her anymore I started singing and performing again on stage Mrs.PenPal.

She got arrested one night he was out her mind chasing all us with an knife wanted too kill us all so I out my children in back room close an lock the door and call 911 on her after they came too take her away an woman çop came back his your house phone she's not an happy camper right we are her she's going too jail so ßhe couldn't see us for two years on probation but during are separation I work so many jobs trying too please here just sleeping two hours an week it finally caught up with me I had anr real back stroke I when from an wheel chair to an cane till nothing I was determined too walk again so I did for myself and my 3 children too I always did without for my children too have things they needed I was never out of job made good money the more money I made she wanted more it was becoming an bad nightmare for after she got done with her profation she divorce me because I call the police on her she nothing in the divorce she wouldn't work too help me now my children are grown doing their own thing I don't see them that much now I had too start an whole new life for myself and move forward in life so did it wasn't easy but I did it Mrs.penpal I quess some people change when you get! Married she sure did wow!

I've had Polk salad. It is a tasty green if you pick it young and parboil it. It can grow head high on a reddish stalk. It has dark purple berries that I don't think are edible and will stain your hands and fingers purple and hard to wash off.

Polk salad. We were driving or auntie to the Aldi's we went the back way. And all of a sudden she says stop nephew there's free food out there. I said where there's nothing but weeds. She said no it's Polk salad. I said poke salad? We parked and got out at that time it was me my wife and my oldest child. I am Latino my auntie is on my wife's side who is African-American and Blackfoot Indian. At that time of the year poke salad can be picked like Elvis said it looks something like a turnip green. Greens!! She said. You can pick and eat it now but when it flowers you cannot because it turns into poison and it will kill you. So like Elvis said we picked a mess of it. Which means a lot of it. Went to our Soul food grocery store and bought ham hocks. Neck bones beens rice ECT. Went home she showed us how to clean them. And cook them for us. It was delicious❤😂. Here's for the southern old school 🏫!!! Elvis was a southern boy too!! Fried butter and banana sandwiches!!😊

When Elvis Presley got done with his movies contacts he wanted too perform again in front of live again he say just singing in front live for people he miss it before Vegas he wanted too perform out the country he said Beatles come here why can't I go there and perform there but his manager said because his manager was illegal in the United States so elvis presley before in Vegas instead.
