Hey 👑. Prince formed the Time, and pretty much wrote and produced their first couple of albums, Gigolos get lonely too was on their first album. Its interesting to observe a woman's modern day take on music of the past. The fact that you said "he could be a serial killer!" as the first thought shows just how much society has changed. Most women from the 80s would not have seen a man asking for a phone number with intent to come over as being "creepy" or with an intent to do harm. Women back then knew the intentions of the men of their era. For them, it was a simple yes or no, and that didn't mean never, it just meant "not today" and it was no harm, no foul. Society has really devolved and I think the modern music is both an example of it and the reason behind it.

You remember your reaction of Prince's demo track for "Gigolos Get Lonely Too" you recently reacted to? That same song (which is also on the the Time's album) was a guide track for the funk group Prince conceived--The Time. The dude on the cover (Morris Day) is/was Prince's best friend and former bandmate. and a GREAT drummer. Prince came up with the Time to unleash his new wave funk side. "777-9311" is one of the Time's most groundbreaking jams. So yeah, Morris "looks" like Prince for a reason. The Time was basically him on mostly all the instruments with the great Day on lead vocals and drums. Prince's genius' knew no bounds.

The band The Time was created by Prince in the late 1970s. Prince handpicked the members of the band and mentored them. He brought together talented musicians and performers, including Morris Day, Jesse Johnson, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Monte Moir, and Jellybean Johnson. Prince served as the producer and songwriter for the band's music, and they became known for their unique blend of funk, pop, and R&B.

@@kennethsmith6367 It's Prince on everything but lead vocals. Prince did the guitar solo in what he thought was an approximation (a better approximation ) of Jesse's then style. Jesse himself said this. In a Facebook post from 2014, Jesse Johnson stated that the beat was a stock drumbeat from the Linn LM-1, programmed by Tower of Power drummer David Garibaldi, and that Prince played the guitar using his Hondo Stratocaster.[3] However Garibaldi himself denied playing the beat in an article for Reverb.[4] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/777-9311

Only Prince could create his alter ego group, do all of music and trained them to the point where some nights on tour they kicked his ass. Who does that😂 I remember dudes who didn't like Prince saying they preferred The Time NOT KNOWING IT WAS ALL PRINCE. No matter what you wanted Prince had it on his shelf.

777-9311 is Dez Dickerson's phone number. Dez is a former member of Prince's band, The Revolution. If you watch the film Purple Rain, Dex is the lead singer of that nameless band (that appears only once) on the 1st Avenue club stage singing "Mountaineer". Dez also appears prominently singing alongside Prince in the videos for Little Red Corvette, 1999, Controversey and Sexuality. He's the African American guy with the headband.

Terry Lewis was part of the Time. I know Prince played the lead here. Because when the Time got Jesse Johnson. That lead guitar was wicked. Listen to the Time The Walk. And in the Time the Skillet. And his song Bare My Naked Soul. And Merciful. No the Purple one can touch JJ on the guitar. Morris Day said so.

Hold on to those headphones! Prince needed a band to front the music he didn't want to release under his own name. He created The Time and Vanity 6. The 1999 Tour (the Triple Threat Tour) showcased all 3 acts in 1982-83.
Wait for the last one! 👀
