Lucia and I were at Norwich mags on 10/03/23 for a plea and bail variation hearing in regards to the false, malicious and retaliatory charges brought against us by Norfolk Constabulary, resulting from the 14/01/23 interaction with Sgt Allum.
On the Saturday in question, local animal liberation activists attended the Bethel Street PEO to challenge NC’s refusal to charge a local animal abuser, and to present the constabulary with a petition signed by almost 50,000 people asking them to take action. Our intention was to then peacefully protest outside, by holding placards and speaking with the public.
And then along came Sgt 54 David Allum whacked out with his wide eyes and wild temper, and…well, the rest is history: • Pt 1: Full Footage of ...
The court noted mine and Lucia’s charges resulting from the above have been dropped from more serious offences such as Public Nuisance for me, and assault on an emergency worker for Lucia, to the far lesser “offences” of s.5 PO and an obstruct police respectively.
And that’s because the police and CPS know they’re not just scraping the barrel with these charges, but that the allegations are based on yet more provable lies from police officers. The coppers’ statements can be torn apart with our video evidence-which covers the full duration of our time in and outside the nick-AND the BWV of the police themselves.
This is quite simply a cover-up operation, a typical example of police closing ranks, and colluding in lies and trumped up charges to protect an abusive police officer. And of course to delay the legal action me and other activists will be taking against NC as a result of Sgt 54 David Allum’s bizarre and tyrannical behaviour towards us.
At the hearing last week, I sensed an atmosphere in the court room, as if everyone present was aware on some level that these proceedings are at least dubious. Of course those of us in full possession of the facts know it’s more than just “a bit off”, but even amongst the bench and court personnel with merely a summary of the charges and hint of the bigger picture, there was a definite air of concealed understanding at the nature of this prosecution, and there were plenty of lines to read between.
It was clearly perceived that the bail conditions in place for these charges were disproportionate, and so Lucia and I are now on unconditional bail for this matter, whereas before we were unable to associate in public, or enter Bethel Street Police Station. Prosecutor Josephine Mary Jones put up little fight and I could see she knew she was on the back-foot with this case.
Whilst I have many punitive and ridiculous bail conditions still in place for other matters, my condition not to approach police officers (resulting from more fabricated offences detailed here: • Unlawful Arrest by Not... ) has also been lifted as it related to the condition not to enter Bethel Street.
When summarising these charges to the bench, it was interesting that the false accusations of shouting, swearing and calling the cops “fucking Nazis” conditioned in the statements weren’t mentioned, probably because the prosecution has been made aware I have the full footage of that interaction and can prove all of their lies.
Instead, Josephine Mary Jones sounded pitiful as she described my “offending behaviour” as calling the police “fascists” (which I did), and…shocker…calling the officers by their names! Yes, she really did say that in open court, looking just a fraction of as humiliated as she should.
So, the hearing went well and the prosecution really showed how pathetic it is. After enjoying a pint with Jam and Lucia, I wasted no time in heading to Bethel Street to ask some questions about my persecution, the various charges I’m facing, and how tf police and farmers can continue to lie about interactions and incidents that they KNOW have been recorded in full, and in which they are the true aggressor.

I am awaiting lawsuit payouts from the police this year. But in the mean time, like too many people in this country, I am in a LOT of debt, and unable to meet the basic costs of living. This seriously inhibits my health, and limits what I’m able to achieve for animal and civil rights.
