I just bought a 50 inch fire TV and am still paying it off and it's already DEAD because they use the CHEAPEST CAPACITORS they can get away with

Sounds like the LED lights went bad or possibly T CONN board but probably the lights

I have a Toshiba FireTV that is one week old and it never turns on. I have to unplug it from the wall outlet every day and then plug it back in and then it will turn on. I have tried the factory default reset and it still does it. I have updated the software and it still does it. I am about ready to take it back to BestBuy where I purchased it. This sucks for a TV that is one week old. Other than having to unplug it each time I turn it on it is a great TV. Do you have any suggestions other than using a sledgehammer on it.

definately take it back to Best Buy. I'm shocked because Toshiba is usually a good brand.

@@HelpingHermit I think I might have discovered something. I changed my “power on” mode to “last thing viewed” and that’s when I started having this problem. I have my “power on” back to Home Screen, and it might be okay now. I will try it a few days and see what happens. Presently I have Dish Network on HDMI port 1 and I usually watch Dish Network but I am in the process of getting high speed fiber optic internet and then I will do away with Dish Network. I am thinking my “power on” mode being set to “last viewed”, which is always Dish Network is what’s causing the problem.

@@inzane1260 mine has finally gotten better. I have DISH network and I discovered that if I turn my DISH network receiver on first then the TV wouldn’t turn on, so now I always turn the TV on first and it seems to work okay. Do you have any type of receiver or DVD player or any other type of device that is connected by HDMI? If so turn the TV on before you turn anything else on that connects with HDMI. That seems to have fixed my problem. If any don’t have any HDMI devices connected I don’t have any other suggestions for you but I hope you can get it figured out, I know how frustrating it can be.

@@inzane1260 I might also add that if you have something connected to HDMI port 1 you need to disable the eARC sound setting for that port. The HDMI port number 1 is used for a sound bar or sound system. You can use it as a regular HDMI port but if you do you have to disable eARC. At least that’s how my Toshiba is.

I appreciate you but the fix you presented doesn’t work- I tried it all- I bought a new fire stick light for my granddaughter Christmas present- can I try that on my Toshiba fire tv?
