Hey man I don't comment on videos often but this video changed my life and I'm almost virtually pain free in my lower back. I compete in Olympic lifting and ever since my squats got heavier and my training got more intensive I was noticing lots of lower back pain that felt "deep". I was unaware of S.I. joint pain so went to 2 different chiropractors and got mis diagnosed both times. The first time I got told I strained ligaments in my lower back, so they had me take almost a month of lifting (no squats, deads, or spinal flexion). The 2nd time I got told it had to do with my IT bands and my hips being tight, which was almost there. It wasn't until I came across this video that everything clicked, this was my pain. I quickly went out, and bought two MLB baseballs and a roll of hockey tape. This routine is painful, and I find it very hard to lift both legs simultaneously but every day I make progress. Like this so Omar can see it! You changed my life man thank you!

Filmed another entire series for you guys featuring Jake Noel, a rehab specialist who works with Reactive Training Systems (Mike Tuchscherer). He's helped treat a who's who when it comes to powerlifters (notably some of the people you probably saw at the USAPL Nationals recently). This entire series will be back working around back issues, something everyone has been requesting from me after I opened up about my issues. This is the first part of what I do to get my SI functioning properly again. It was awesome filming this content with Jake, I can tell you he is the real deal. If you are excited for this series, like the video and leave a comment on what you want to see next! Always trying to bring you guys useful content.

Ayy you made a video on my comment (unless it's a coincidence). First of all, thank you very much. Second, I know these exercises will "release and get back to normal function," but does that necessarily reshape the area (fix the bad arc I have down there)? When I lay down on my back, I really have to force my hips upwards to even get that area to touch the ground. I will definitely be doing everything in this video once a week, regardless. Again, thank you.

This video just saved my back. I have been having back issues for a while and after deadlifting 2 weeks ago I did something that just completely messed it up. I was in constant pain and everytime I stood up from sitting down it just got worse and was in terrible pain. Couldn't put my socks on and my hamstrings have been crazy freaking tight. I saw this video last night and today I did everything and haven't felt this good in a while. Thanks Omar for making these videos and I am really excited for the rest of the videos!

Thank you so much for this info!!! I've been dealing with my SI joint popping out every so often. I'll go to a chiro to get it reset but it doesn't always work or it makes the pain worse! Then I just would rather live with the pain than go back to the chiro. Stretching gives a little bit of relief. Going to get myself a couple of basebalsl and make a peanut. Can't wait to feel no pain!

Love the video man, I've a funky click in my right hip joint with the femur when I squat, run, cycle, or work out abs (crunches and leg raises especially) sometimes. Hasn't happened recently with the squat but while doing abs it kills to the point I can only really plank, it's when my leg get between 45 degrees from straight and right angle.

+OmarIsuf THANK YOU. SO. EFFIN. MUCH. I've been struggling with my back for ages to the point that my chiropractor told I should lean towards giving up powerlifting/bodybuilding. My lower back would get extremely jammed up and tight as well as my thoracic disks slipping out (if that's how you say it). I found a solution for my thoracic disks (decompressing and stretching out the spine with certain yoga movements) but for the life of me could not find anything on how to alleviate tension and tightness in the lower back. Traditional foam rolling didn't help due to not digging in into the muscles properly. I just made a peanut from 2 tennis balls and tape, and spent 10 minutes digging them into my back just the way you guys showed in the video. At first it was extremely painful (the right type of painful, the foam rolling type), but after continuously doing it for around 10 mins, my lower back feels soooo good. There's almost no tightness or discomfort. This is going to help so much with my squats and sumo DLs. Oh, and btw, thanks to you, Matt, and David, I basically fixed my squat to the point that the form is PERFECT. I had to start from the bar and within a few months built up to 40 kg on the bar. Just thank you, so, much, for teaching us all of these things and helping become better athletes (and preventing us from snapping our shiz up). Keep up the awesome work, and again - THANK YOU SO MUCH! P.S. I know it's cheesy as f, but who cares, I'm not snapping my shiz up yo.

+McFriedChicken awesome tbh. because of foam rolling my SI with a tennis ball I hit a Sumo DL PR the next or so day. Genuinely helps to roll it out whenever it tightens cos otherwise it can be a huge distraction during lifts 😑

When sitting, hook your feet together and pull them against each other. My SI pops frequently when I do this. Not sure if anyone else does this, but I like it. Also I noticed Omar was using straps on that deadlift...I started using straps instead of mixed grip and it feels much better on my SI.
