Flying Scotsman Storms Shap 6/2/16

8 жыл бұрынHere is my footage of LNER A3 Pacific Flying Scotsman on its first passenger mainline tour since its extensive overhaul at Ian Riley's workshop in Bury, Scotsman is seen hauling The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express on Saturday 6th February 2016. We see 60103 in excellent form storming passed a very wet Shap Wells on her way to carlisle on the outward leg of the tour, I am led to believe that this was Scotsman's first run over Shap since the 1st June 1969.

It'd be very interesting to compare that performance with Tornado, or some of the other top performances. It'd be well up there, I should think. Certainly shows how effective that double chimney was on bringing their performance up to the standards of much newer locos.

Cracking clip Phil, but what a dreadful day. How did you manage to keep the cam dry? Scotsman sounded in great form with a steady beat and no slippage!I wasn't able to make it out today due to a previous arrangement but hopefully next time! Best wishes. Ken

+PotatoFairy93 The brakes had been sorted for its test run and the diesel was on the rear for train heating and possible insurance as it was running on the mainline.
