I took out the front driveline on 2001 AWD with the 5.0 and the front hubs are new along with the cv axles and brakes and I still get a grinding noise in the front.Any idea? It’s all the time when moving.Not just turning or braking.

yup ive done it with many v6 explorers. make sure to disconnect the plug to the transfer case too. i usually just disconnect the plug and leave the driveshaft there cuz unplugging the transfer case makes it full time 2wd

Only if it's a true 4WD system where you can lock in and out the 4WD. If you do, you must drive it in 4H range-never Auto-4. It is also not recommended to operate it in 4 Low range as the torque may be too much for one driveshaft to handle. Never drive an AWD system (no visible driver controls) with one driveshaft disconnected. The transfer case coupler isn't designed to operate this way and you'll likely burn it out.

@@alexyoungberg5232 ud probably have to pull the cv axles out if ur front diff is grinding
