Having just watched it and coming back to this clip, it hits me now that this one small scene is a big foreshadowing to future events, and actually says a lot about these three different criminals’ personalities and views on life,

Because freddy is trying to impress rafeal, to freddy rafeal is like a client and freddy is like a guy that people go through to hire things like hitmen and guns. So freddy is like a ceo trying to impress a customer.

If you picked up on that subtle nuance and you haven't seen this show.... You are in for a real treat!!! You need this show in your life... Absolutely perfect writing

@@omnivorous65 True, but it's strange how it effects people when a camera is pointed at them. For my work I film a lot of interviews etc, people can be talking so natural to you, but as soon as the camera is on they go so robotic and forget how to flow their speech.

Think it's a bit deeper than that. Ray stands firm and does not eat it, while the other guy eats it even though he doesn't really want to. In that simple act, Ray shows that he isn't going to be pushed around just to please people.

Yeah i feel like it has more to do with the fact that the boss is sizing them both up for bring them in on the big job. If you can push them around and be as readable as freddy, youre more likely to be kept around and used until disposed of. A clean easy loose end predealt with. Where as Ray, like tomd2103 said, stands firm, shows he wont be pushed around, and ultimately shows hed be hard to handle if you wanted to tie up loose ends on a big job just for the sake of peace of mind. Thats why Ray ultimately tries to shut down the team job. Being brought in on a team is suspicious when its not long time friends with deep levels of bond. Rays worked for freddy for a long time at this point, thus if freddys boss wants to bring ray on a job, surely its because hes swift and effective, but with how freddy seems so off, even hes not comfortable with his boss. Ray is a pro, team members you dont know are just more variables that increase the likely hood of his death. Ray is walking the line between saying no, and enforcing his standards of a job is a job, dont fk me over. The big boss picks up on this and tries to ease ray to work with him by calling out freddy, sweetening the honey pot by showing you can be honest and straight up, dont worry about it. Its really subconscious aura work that most people dont see, but makes the show more immersive by showing the big boss is off, freddy is a push over, and ray is uncomfortable being on a yacht trying to be persuaded by his bosses boss to do a job his boss coulda just sent him off on and casually info dropped. Why is he really there? Taking into consideration how his boss freddy, already wont respect him and his ability when davros fkd up and bashes rays friend, freddy tells ray to apologize to davros after ray retaliates and beats the sht out of all his goons - RATHER THAN call them out for being power abusing tools with no sense of respect for people who might be silent and reserved but deserve all the respect in the room, davros pisses ray off again when ray meets to apologize to davros after davros first refuses to shake his hand then attempts to "show ray where everyone stands" before shaking rays hand while he makes a threat. Ray cuts him down by basically saying keep your guys in line so i dont have to put them in line again. Davros gets tilted and freddy says dont think about making an example of Ray cuz it wont end well. Davros attempts anyway which puts Ray and freddy on the start of a decline. Ray does jobs and meets with few people, info comes through freddy, and now Ray is infront of freddys boss when Ray isnt looking for a promotion, he likes the minimal involvement with zero variables. This is certainly one of the best shows ive ever watched and so much of it is subconscious, it only makes sense when you rewatch it. The twist teases you but you never catch it.

I think it's a sleeper hit that will slowly reverberate around the world slowly gaining in popularity over the next decade or two and become a cult classic. When that happens, maybe he'll come out of retirement for another season or two.

I kinda like the fact that we're in a little exclusive club that nobody else knows about. Its not a series but I think Bad Boy Bubby is an absolute masterpiece and one of the best films I have ever seen and hardly anyone knows about it or talks about it.
