Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I’m your host Deffinition and this is the channel where we explain it so you don’t have to.
If you’ve been keeping up to date with our game of Thrones videos then you’ll no doubt be aware that Season 8 of the show has been getting panned pretty hard across the board.
Nobody seems happy with it including the actors so I thought I’d put together a compilation of all the clips we have so far of cast members dropping just how disappointed they are with Season 8.
This is full spoilers ahead and though the actors don’t really drop anything major, if you’re not fully caught up with the show you may have some things ruined for you so I highly recommend that you turn off now if you haven’t seen all the way up to the latest episode.

Season 8 of GOT Is two or three 10-episode seasons squeezed in a 6-episode one. That's its biggest problem. Just look at the last episode where they tried to have Daenerys successfully pull a Carrie in ONE EPISODE.

Outside of the anticlimactic ending for NK and having Arya killing him as fan service, its been pretty great. I loved seeing Dany finally break bad and become what she's always been.

They are giving answers they can without spoiling it beforehand :) and Martin's work is always a bit depressing and full of melancholy, and as he repeatadly mentioned he doesn't do happy endings and that is what the cast were hinting at... that the ending will not be like good guys win, everyone is happy, anyhow that is just my opinion

I feel so bad for Emilia. she’s been through so much in the past years and she felt empowered when playing Daenerys. Khaleesi’s character development is ruined and I am shocked/disappointed.

Daenerys was always supposed to burn Kings Landing. It was always foreshadowed. But the execution was fucking terrible. A descent into madness would have been a great plot development but they showed the whole thing in like half an episode.

Imagine working for 9 years on a character, knowing exactly what that character is, what they'd think what they'd do, and then some guy prints a sheet of paper that doesn't make sense for who the character is, and knowing that nothing has been done to set your character up for such a sudden change. And to top it all off, you can't change it, you know it'll anger people like it angered you, and you can't even tell anyone.

Well we can surmise you're not talking about Dany, because they've been foreshadowing this since season 1. In season 2 she even visited the wizard of Qarth who showed her a vision of the iron throne covered in ash. Anyone who is shocked, even Emilia Clarke, obviously wasn't paying attention.

@@LobsterPuncher youre right they have been foreshadowing this but i think still not enough was done in the recent episodes to warrant the very sudden shift of disposition of dany towards killing the innocents before shed killed the evil masters now all of a sudden all the citizens civilians? so that didnt make much sense and even if it cause she feel "betrayed" it wasnt a proper set up at all more of a shocker than touch on any of the subtler emotion that involved - and what about all other characters sudden shifts with not much set up or foreshadowing too

@@LobsterPuncher Except that was snow, as confirmed by the script from that episode and the fact that the glass in the windows is broken, not melted. But you are correct in that Dany going mad was being foreshadowed. When she get's back to Mireen after abandoning her friends with Drogon she tells Tyrion that she is going to burn 3 of this world's biggest cities to the ground regardless of innocent casualties. This was only prevented by her not having an excuse not to listen to her advisors as this was before they all started to repeatedly fail her and cause setbacks to the war she could have won if she just did what she wanted to do in the first place, which was burn down King's Landing.

I hated it cause the characters felt so real, deep with personal believes and thoughts, to freking disney characters, not the good ones, snowite and her prince this is what i felt.

Like they’re the exact same. The white queen was coming to reclaim her throne from an evil tyrant. Not only for the actors that were still in season 8. Remember all the actors who portrayed the likes of Ned, Catelyn, Robb, Tywin, Oberyn, Joffrey, Ramsay, Margaery or Drogo. They were so proud too about their GoT gig back then. Imagine them now. I feel especially bad for Sean Bean, who was so proud.

@@flick2flick Yeah, but they did 180 on her character in a single episode, just cancelling her acting and personality she builded for 7 seasons. People loved her, many crazy people named their children "Daenerys", "Khaleesi", so I think she was cheated the most. But who knows, still 1 episode, Jon might turn into serial killer and start killing people like Sansa, Bran, and so on, then we can talk again, but for now, she was definately bamboozled the most.

I feel sorry for the audience. Of course the actors rather would have the ending to be great, but they will walk away with a big fat paycheck and a bright future ahead. It's normal for an actor to be in a flop every now and then. Nothing to really feel sorry about.

I think D&D wanted to 'shock' the audience so much the writing turned crap. I had no issue if they want to make Dany mad or if they want Jaime to have no care in the world aside from Cersei etc. but they could have atleast took time to develop them that way. What happened was so abrupt. They totally ruined the show. Jaime probably have one of the best redemption arc in the books and even from earlier seasons in the show but they ruined all that when he just suddenly go back to Cersei having no care for the innocents or even Brienne. What the hell happened?! Jaime have already decided to leave Cersei for good in Season 7 ending. He choose to go fight w/ Dany & the North (& even willing to die for their cause!) because he cares but then a few episodes later he was running back to Cersei saying he don't care about anybody else aside from them?! What?! To top that all he even made love w/ Brienne just before the episode he run back to Cersei. Does that seem like Jaime to you?! I was even more mad because in the books Jaime is genuinely in love w/ Brienne and he left Cersei WAY EARLIER than in the show. And then there's Dany. I get it they want to make her mad to replicate her father but atleast be consistent. If this was the plan all along then they shouldn't have made her give up her fight for the Iron Throne against Cersei in Season 7 just to go to the North to help them fight against the Night King sacrificing not just her army but even her plan to attack King Landing to take the Iron Throne just for her to turn complete 180 in the following episodes. Why even make her sacrifice her one dream & goal for Jon and the North then?! You should have made her selfish and refuse to sacrifice her army or her plans just to go help the Starks because she wants the throne no matter what the cause. Period. That would have been a nice precedence of what she truly is. Instead you made her selfless and sacrificing for 7 seasons just to turn 180 in Season 8. Nobody suddenly go insane abruptly. There's a process for that. Don't even get me started at what they did to Cersei this season. I was already mad enough at how she died. She freaking died hug by the only man she have ever love. So romantic. Jon and Tyrion have suddenly turn useless and not to mention so stupid too. Jon's whole arc since Season 1 is all about defeating the White Walkers and the Night King but they made him useless during the actual battle. Nonsense. They ruined his main plot and story arc. Not that mention Bran was useless too. He warg to a bird and just kept flying. Those 2 are the one who have the NK in their direct story arc but was push aside in their own story arc climax. What kind of writing is that?! Tyrion is one of my favorite character that I am so mad that they dumb him down just to make Sansa look smarter when she have been so dumb and stupid since Season 1. She isn't that smart in the books too. In my opinion D&D seem to favor Arya and Sansa a lot (it was so obvious when GRRM left & they start writing on their own) and so they ruined all characters just for those 2 look great. It was absurd. P.S. Many characters that have great story in the book was ruined in the TV show when they change their storyline completely. I was still mad they didn't follow Euron's book storyline instead when he was really an interesting character in the book. In the show he was just dull.

The acting, cinematography and everything was exceptional... except for the writing. What I think is that the story to 5 seasons to spread and reach the middle. It needed another 5 to reach a proper end. Just look at the character of Jamie Lanister till season 5 and in Season 6, 7, and 8 the character is ruined.

Episode 6, the big finale: -Bran rolls into the throne room having teleported down from Winterfell. -Dany, in her continuing effort to break the wheel, immediately destroys Bran's wheels - rendering him immobile. -Satisfied with breaking not only 1 but 2 wheels, Dany goes googly eyed, jumps on Drogon and continues to burn Kings landing. -Jon is not happy with this but bends both knees and screams 'Your my queen and i love you, but not in that kind of way' -After a solid hour of burning, Dany parks Drogon to let him cool down for a bit. -Jon rushes to greet her, but trips on the Valonqar (a brick), falling sword first into Dany and killing her. -Upset at his own complete ineptitude, Jon dives into the nearest teleport pod, and transports himself up north to retake the black - even tho the nights watch has been disbanded. -Drogon finds Dany's body, picks her up and flies off into the sunset -Bran, now devoid of wheels and stuck in the throne room, decides he might as well be king since he can't go anywhere else. The End.....note: the show runners kinda forgot about Tyrion, Sansa, Arya, Yara, past character arc's, general logic, coherence etc

If you paid attention or knew anything about creative writing you would have noticed that the main characters were written to be dance partners for the song of ice and fire. Tyrion and Sansa (benefits of a house name), Jon and Daenerys (absence of a loving mother), Arya and the hound (the path for revenge), Melisandre and Ser Devos (the path of questioning the influence of a greater being). The conductor is Beric (passes needed information to all these characters at one point. He told Jon about the Night King been the mothership from independence day. You would have picked up that the macguffin (The Iron Throne) had people affected by it or consumed by obtaining it and they would dress in black from that point on. You would have also realised come the long night that the writers had built this show like a real game for the viewer. You’d need to work to solve it to understand the true story. Come the finale you would have realised that Bran was the silent protagonist, controlling and influencing the adventures of every important character and the main player who took the wheel during the battle with the night king which means it never mattered what the mortals planned as it was god who played his hand. Bran stark is the ruler of all. Adventurers your game was to watch and read the show and piece together the game the writers gave you in order to expose the silent protagonist. The night is dark and full of terrors for a reason. You play the game and you win or you die. Heaps of sore losers out there, you failed to play the game. You bent the rules to fit your own desires instead of listening to how to play the game the writers created. This was never a story from start to finish, it was an adventure already in motion with a silent protagonist to alter character paths. Your first venture is to watch and read the characters and forge them at the long night to see where they sit on the tree of life (weirwood tree) and to use that to expose the hidden champion who controls everything Bran the Broken. Once achieved you get the epic tale that was always happening before your eyes. Bran the broken (woken, dragon, spoken, raven) Azor Ahai was his name but to those who failed him, he’s known as the lord of the light. His old self will wake dragons from stone before he passes the torch to his clone. The old one is reborn and he is now called Bran. Bran will now finish his gran plan. A magician with control and influence will help those in their time of great darkness. A prince and princess will rise to bring their hidden champion a powerful weapon but only one will help forge the weapon known as lightbringer. As the other will go mad with obtained power. The one who only cared for others will become the one who was promised. When our united heroes band together the great weapon lightbringer shall be forged and the one who wields its power will be Azor Ahai; The lord of the light. Night king made by the jackass children of the forest and removing the macguffin that the jackasses of westeros have been fighting over. Creative writing isn't going to dumb itself down so you can find it. The show is based on beliefs. You wish to handle game of thrones in a lazy manner then you get the lazy bs ending as that is all you will ever see.

In the books,Euron is a mysterious,sadistic pirate,who is rumoured to practise ancient blood magic from Valyria and there's another Greyjoy,Victarion (Euron's little brother,Theon's/Yara's uncle) which Euron seduced his wife,10 years before and was exiled because of this. The 2 hate each others guts but Euron manages to become the new Ironborn Lord and he sends Victarion to Daenerys with a proposition. Euron will give her the Iron Fleet and a magical dragonhorn,that can control and tame dragons in exchange for her hand in marriage.(in the books,Dany has trouble controlling the dragons) Victarion plans to betray his brother,but Euron has a plan B and all kinds of scheming happens. None of this was in the show and the actor was really pissed according to unofficial sources.

Also, Ser Barristan in the books is still alive and plays a big role, after the attack of the "Sons of the Harpy" when Dany gets carried away by the dragon, he's the one who takes charge,sends Daahaario to find her and keeps her kingdom together.In the show they killed him off and the actor was pissed. He slammed the producers in several interviews.

He hasnt been involved in the show since season 4.Not to mention that those stupid writers decided to have 6 episodes only coz it was enough for the story, HBO was willing to give them more episodes even seasons but they declined.

Arya, who kills the Night King 2 episodes before runs like a scared little girl because the Hound told her to. Cersei, who we've hated for years has the Red Keep fall on her and Jamie. Such bad story telling and ended these characters unjustly. No wonder over 500,000 people have signed a petition to remake the season with competent writers. Now no one will want to watch anything Benioff and Weiss put into the public.

But my girlfriend loved the series and I promised her to watch the last season with her. I dont know everything but i caught some of the story because of her watching it. After the first 2 Episodes where nothing happened, I told her they dont have enough time to make it a good story now the 2 episodes wher justsome guys saying hello, but she still had hope, and after episode 3 it hit her hard when she realized I was right, like you cannot see anything, alot of plot armor and assassin arya? Just caught me writing a huge text so I stop and just finish with the sentence "It made me sad to see how dissapointed and sad this season made my girlfriend."

The Children of the Forest created the Night King out of dragon glass to exterminate the humans who were destroying the forest. They did so in a ritual in which their landscape resembled a spiral, a symbol that the White Walkers took as their own. The White Walkers' sole mission was to rid the world of humans at the command of the Children of the Forest, who ironically made a worse enemy than the humans when they created them. The Night King targeted Bran specifically because Bran as the Three Eyed Raven held the history of humanity in his mind, which the White Walkers wanted to destroy. Hope that answers your questions. BrianNIL Thanks for your input! I just mean in the show itself (specifically the last season), they could’ve elaborated more, and made it more interesting for the viewers. For example, the war against the White Walkers happened a bit too quick and it seemed a bit too easy for the main characters to survive it, while so many men died when hoards of the white walkers attacked. Also since we’re used to seeing main characters die in GoT, it was a bit surprising that pretty much all of them survived. In regards to Bran, there is one scene during the war with the White Walkers, where Bran says something like, “I have to go now” and then we see him, watching the war from the view of the ravens, like what was that about? Was there no other way he could’ve helped because he knew what was going to happen anyways? I thought he might play a bigger role during the war. Plus Jon Snow (Aegon Targaryen) already knew how to defeat the White walkers because he had fought against them before right? So the only thing that Bran did, was that he told Jon about who he really was. Idk I might be wrong about some stuff maybe I’ve missed some things but my conclusion is that they could’ve done better with the last season. I feel like they just wanted to get it done quickly.

@@PrettylilSecretX I agree. They certainly could have elaborated more, especially about Bran and his new abilities. It seems like a lot of people don't like Bran, but his scenes in the past were one of my favorite parts of the show, especially when he finds the ways history has been altered by secrets and lies. I didn't understand what he was doing during the war with the Walkers either, maybe he was sort of recording the battle into his mind with the ravens the way I DVRed the episode haha And then the look he gives the Night King at the end made me seem like there was more to the story, but guess not. I really hope you enjoyed the final episode. I don't like to ruin things for anybody, but after they ran out of source material from the books, the writing just didn't develop the characters very well. Characters change, that's part of what makes for a great story, but the writers seemed to have a hard time getting the characters from point A to point B in a convincing way. All the major events that happened in the show were fine, it's just how they happened that was disappointing for me. The characters were not as well developed this season in particular, nor as complex. Daenerys really stands out as a character who went off the edge without the viewers really being able to relate to her mindset, whereas even if you don't like characters like Cersei and Jamie, the writing makes you understand where they're coming from and even sympathize with them at times. Maybe after the books are written and the characters are better developed, I'll enjoy the final season more.

sadly most of these actors know less about the show or books than most of the fans, same as the actors in most movies and TV shows. So yeah they probably did not see it coming and most likely could respond with the same answer every season that they have appeared in.

The problem isn't that Daenerys' brutality wasn't obvious - she's always had these tendencies. The problem is that when you make a show that's essentially driven but character progression and a slow build-up and then make the final season a rollercoaster event from "cool scene" to "cool scene" and cut out all the stuff that made the show top tier... Well you kinda remove the golden thread. Take Daenerys, her burning King's Landing could work beautifully if she slowly got driven to that point over an entire season, but she didn't they reduced it to a few deaths and Jon not fucking her essentially. Now compare that to past events. Theon struggled with himself and became a "bad guy", we witnessed his inner conflict even at this point of no return. Generally speaking characters has evolved at a steady and natural pace, this last season that part is cut out and what we're left with is setup->outcome->action scenes. The same logic can be applied to the night king and the army of the dead, spread the confrontation out over a full season and include a struggle where they constantly try and "slow" down his advance while trying to evacuate the north or something similar, throw in a few scenes where the white walkers effortlessly kill everyone in their path when they enter winterfell, throw in a scene where Jon or any other character tries to stand up to the night king and he toys with them for shits and giggles before Arya stabs him and yea... People wouldn't complain half as much. Hell add on top a scene where Melisandre goes "the prince who was promised's role is to bring all the right people to the right place so they can bring back the dawn" and make the fight logical and you've essentially already upped the quality by spreading it out over two seasons and including everything that obviously has happened but just happens behind the scenes or inbetween them.

I'm not that bothered by what's going on. I am upset that it all seems so rushed! They knew before season 7 that there was only 2 seasons left. Why weren't these new character arcs seen in season 7. Jamie's change backwards was rushed and Dany's change was sooo abrupt. She help save humanity on one show and the 2 shows later she's burning children. WTF!

Lindsay Kennedy She’s been passive agressive since day 1. She’s banged on about ending tyranny but presses for the iron throne in a tyrannical way ignoring the fact there’s a better claim out there (Jon). She’s suffered since childhood. She’s been thrown around, abused, suffered immense grief and seen Missendei murdered in front of her by her enemy. She’s feeling her grip on power go and realising no one loves her. She snaps. It’s been gradual. The level of her reaction and action to kill them all was shocking yes but not beyond the realms of possibility. We have seen countless times people do shocking unspeakable acts and we wonder why. It’s who they are. She is the mad queen. She was never a goodie and I wish people would just understand this and stop being upset their favourite is of this way.

I don't think Dany's "change" was abrupt at all. Nor Jamie's. Everyone knows it's been a struggle for Dany since she was a child to control her nature to just go nuclear. It's been one long struggle keeping her from doing what she did in episode 5. Episode 5 is Dany being her true nature.... no one was going to talk her out of going nuclear after Missandei was killed, no one. Jamie? Nah a blind man could have seen Jamie heading back to kings landing once he heard Dany had been ambushed and a dragon killed because he knew damn well what was going to happen. He was damn sure going to be with Cersei in the end no doubt about it.

I think Jamie honestly got it worse than Dany. At least with Dany, there were SOME clues that she was beginning to slip into madness. They still did a shit job and Dany needed much more build up instead of instantly going straight from "Well-intentioned person prone to violence that needs someone to guide her" to "Literally the single worst and most evil person in the entire series" but at least there was something showing she wasn't in a good state of mind. Jaime got none of that. He went from a man that had his entire life turned upside down, went through hardship after hardship, went against Cersei to help the North despite knowing she'd try to have him killed, the man who BROKE DOWN CRYING IN FRONT OF BRIENNE because he finally had one person he knew he could trust with the one secret not even Cersei knew. All of that, then he fucks Brienne and all of a sudden decides "I did some horrible shit for her in the past, so I'm gonna go back to doing anything for her." The only possible thing one could call a hint was that he still loved Cersei in season 7 but that doesn't mean "go back on all that character development and possibly the best character arc to go back to how he was in season 1." As if there aren't degrees of love or that he can't love Cersei but acknowledge the kind of person she is and why he shouldn't go back to her. Was sex with Brienne just that bad that he had to go back to Cersei?

@@Rulusan This is what I call denial... When has Dany character ever showed the sign of a psychopath, she has always have compassion for the weak, she has always had a high sense of justice. She killed people that wronged her just like every other monarch. If you believe you can go from that to killing thousands of women kids and babies then there is something wrong with you. Even the mad king went mad because of paranoia because people WERE plotting around him. He didn't just go crazy for the sake of it.

The script they are given is not just the dialog...it also has the mood they want to convey and emotions they want expressed. With information the cast should have a better understanding of where it’s going...but, the cast was as baffled as the fans.

The writers were given an outline by George RR Martin himself. They were on their own. George said his books endings would not be that different. The trouble with the show has been the pacing plus they caught up to the books and were left with that outline. Theories are theories for a reason and mostly remain that way.

how about a fuking season with,...oh,.. i dont know ... 8-10 episodes to maybe tie up a few loose ends & properly wrap it all up... i mean how they killed off the most hated character on the show i wish was a fucking joke... no confrontation, no battle, no closure......whimpering and crying ...? & why the necessity to kill the show in 6 episodes?? they obviously had no clue how to properly wrap it up without a completed book to follow. I'm no GOT fanatic, I enjoy the show and watch every season, this season is the 1st time i've bothered with any of these review videos on YT on the show as well....but i am even lightly, invested in the characters and story... & the way they just wiped out so many plot lines, multiple story lines, and had so many barely developed or superfluous characters that contributed nothing this season,... even in the last episode (woman and child burned, Golden army...?? ) I don't need a nice pink ribbon but,... it was a fukin mess....not at all satisfying... and after seeing this season, i'm not sad it's wrapping up this sunday. If this is the best the show runners can do on their own without a book to follow, BuhBye, it was fun while it lasted. PS: The wrap upof this show does not bode well for the star wars project these guys are to be entrusted with next... holy shit.... Maybe these guys can work their magic on the walking dead,....FFS just kill that shitshow already,... how the hell is that abomination still on TV??

I also think one clip with Sam sums it up very well people were okay with horrible thing happening before. I feel that is because there was always next season, now bad things/good things depending on opinions are happening and there is no next season to come back to. And yeah a lot of people are sad due to that reason, a person can pass it off as bad writing or other reasons, but no one likes when good things come to an end.

Daenerys as a character: Seasons 1-6 have brilliant character growth, and despite Game of Thrones being a very sexist show, she's a very strong character and has evolved in great ways becoming an inspiring leader and a noble queen whom people respect. Seasons 7-8 she becomes a spoiled bitch queen who wants nothing but the Iron Throne. What happened to breaking the wheel? What happened to bringing justice to her family name? What happened to ruling? She goes fucking insane, burns down her own damn city and then dies. What brilliant character growth! The writers should really pat themselves on the back-- Oh wait, they did. At the end of each episode they're high-fiving themselves for no goddamn reason.
