Expecting saves from spiderman ps4 to carry over to spiderman remastered on ps5 is like expecting your n64 mario 64 save to work on mario 64 on switch..

In the very specific case of Spiderman, I think this somewhat makes sense considering that it’s being treated as a different game, with new trophies, etc.

The whole save conversation totally forgets how Xbox has had that solved since the Xbox 360. Now, your save follows you through the 360, Xbox One, PC, and streaming on Android.

just a fun fact, the only correlation of the dog in The World Cup soccer 94 machine is that in 1994 USA hosted the World Cup and the hosting country picks a mascot for that event, USA picked the dog, however the mascots are more representative of the country than soccer itself.

I use my local library and GameFly and it’s perfect. I haven’t had to buy a full price game since animal crossing and I only did that so my wife could have it. With one month of GameFly for 2 games out at a time I have been able to beat Avengers, Paper Mario Origami King, Tony Hawk 1+2, Crash 4 is on the way and I’m half way through Ghost of Tsushima. 22$ versus the 260$ I would have spent to buy all those games is a good deal.

my spiderman save files didnt even work from standard to deluxe edition so this isnt a surprise seeing that the remastered seems to have a completely new peter parker

Spiderman was the first game that I've played where the save game from the standard edition worked on my game of the year deluxe version too. I really didn't think it would but was pleasantly surprised.

The entire spiderman saves conversation went off the rails and never actually addressed the issue with SONY and the Playstation 5 specifically where there's now several games having this issue where your PS4 save does not carry over to PS5.

You can't choose how you watch a movie in a movie theater, you see it in the particular way a director wants you to see it, as it's a curated experience like video games are. Some Video games make concessions to you in terms of having sandbox qualities, easy mode, and chapter selections, but that's not the way some creators want you to experience the game. I personally never used cheat codes (besides the Konami code in Contra) because I want the experience the creators wanted to give me.

Love these 4. They are a great team.

Apart from the 360 era, have always been Sony, but go where the games and service are. Sony easily stole this gen from their masterful handling of E3 reveal for the PS4 etc. Now? Not sure what they are doing, none of it is awful, but MS are really being consumer friendly with Gamepass etc.

Did you record this before the Peter Parker face change reveal? Because this is definitely the biggest deal. And it's kinda heartbreaking.

N64 games were not cheap. Hey You Pikachu was like $80, and Majora's Mask required to buy the expansion pack with the game.

I think games are just young. I'm guessing you couldn't skip through TV before VCRs and couldn't skip through music back when there was only a radio with no tapes. Maybe in time, games will evolve in a similar way

Considering the ultimate edition is framed as a new version of the game and even has its own new trophy list I don't think it's that bad. Plus I think I heard that the backwards compatible version (not the ultimate edition) with have cross save just like Miles Morales has been confirmed to have.

I mean remasters usually don't have cross saves, right? Last of Us and grand theft auto 5 from PS3 to PS4 never had it. And they were made within a year of the original.

Spiderman saves can swing to the ps5, if you play the Ps4 version on the PS5. It makes sense when you think of the Ps5 version as a remaster.

Witcher 3 save games don't transfer from the standard and ultimate versions within the same platform. They are 2 different products/trophy lists

The save file sucks, BUT its not just a Backwars Compatible game touched up, the game has been made for the PS5, over a year they ported it to make use of the NVME etc so a ps4 save file structured for a normal HDD just wont be recognised now when trying to be read by an NVME drive looking for PS5 data to load, this is the issue, all save files in Backwards Compatible mode will work, because the PS5 will default to PS4 mode (emulate basically) and thats fine, look realistically this will only affect a handful of games before launch AC valhall we dont know yet, Watch Dogs Legion has confirmed save files will transfer over fine, but something with the way Insomniac have structured thier save files wont work with PS4/PS5, Cyberpunk we dont know about but in reality this will only affect games remade from ps4 to ps5, not games running backwards compatability or games by the loks of it getting a ps5 upgrade via patch as watchdogs legion upgrading from ps4 to ps5 will read the save files just fine as will other ubisoft game id imagine so mountain/molehill. Im not even buying spiderman again im not paying the same game game twice i dont care what improvements they done, miles will be bought, but on its own.

I think the whole games should offer skip to pass parts of games or give you access to things like level select is bs. First off, comparing to a book or show on tv is ridiculous. You can go to the end of the book and read that last page or say chapter but then you have no clue what is going on. All books have some lull in them at some point. Skipping it because it’s boring just means maybe you are not liking the story to begin with. As for tv shows or movies. You can skip to the end or watch parts you want when they come out unless it’s streaming. But a movie at the theater is not going to let you skip a boring scene or go to the end so you can see what happens. Same with tv shows. All those shows on cable like Law and Order or Jeopardy or Family, you don’t get the option to see the newest episode or whole season before it’s aired or you dvr it. As for video games, you want to see the same level but different choice replay the game or use KZfaq. Next thing people will want is a way to skip all dialogue, have the game play the combat or action scenes. Then skip to the end with a summary. All with you never having to play.

This episode is an audio-shitshow. :))) I say that light-heartedly. I know technology screws up sometimes.

What's the purpose of playing the saves in a remaster?. Remaster means they changed the graphics and other stuff, don't you want to see the differences and enjoy the game?. What if you were almost done with the first version. Why would you start were you finish and then just watch the credits at the end?. If its not to play the game from te beginning, its not worth to buy it.

Way of the Warrior for the 3DO is known to be one of the worst game on that system. I am surprised they do not remember this game. It is not an A grade.

I personally do not like level select. I think cheats are fine when you let people know they are cheating. The challenge/accomplishment aspect of a game is important to me.

I’m sorry to say this as a trophy Hunter myself, but the whole reason your saves won’t transfer over is because Spiderman remastered has its own trophy list. I’ve run into this before with the Witcher 3. I bought the physical collector’s edition with the statue, and in my desire to go all digital, bought the complete edition from the the PS store. When I first booted into the game my only option was to start a new game even though I had saves on my system. It seems trophies and achievements are the real problem to many of the things you’re discussing here. Even why most games don’t have cheat codes anymore. Maybe it’s time for them to go away?

Just an FYI to the game save discussion Xbox has confirmed saves will go with you to Series X/S. I’ll probably get lots of hate for this but to be honest this show has really show its PlayStation bias with the next gen on the way.
