I grew up watching both Wanderers and Warriors on late night cable in the 80's/90's. I aint choosing between em since they're so different and both are in my top 20 all time favorite movies. DBs and Wanderers and Wongs sing-along always makes me smile.

Loved this review guys . Well done . I've seen the Wanderers easily over 100 times since 1982 . Its a movie I can put on & just watch it on repeat all night . Always loved the movie , the acting , the story & soundtrack . In 2004 they released the 25th anniversary edition DVD of it , but the only special features on it was the directors commentary . 2029 will be the 50th anniversary . I wish they'd release interviews with the actors (if there was any interviews done) , any backstage footage , bloopers and show things like all the lobby cards & posters from different countries , different DVD & video covers and basically "anything" that was released to do with the movie . "Wanderers Forever" .

FUUUUUUCK yeah, I can't believe you're DOING this one! Internet high five, that's awesome. Highly underappreciated movie. Ditto what brianbooker said about Lords of Flatbush.

Great reaction! I been waiting for someone to react to The Wanderers , it's one of my low key favorites along with The Warriors but other than both featuring gangs they are completely different type of movies. The Warriors is action (fantasy) where as The Wanderers is a lot closer to the reality of the time frame it depicts and is much more of a coming of age dramedy flick. One point I have to disagree with is that I think the Wanderers is a much deeper and thought provoking film than the Warriors, the Wanderers is actually about the changing times with the whole gang culture and ethnic/racial segregation giving way to a new era of different types of people coming together, the Warriors is actually more of a popcorn movie. Keep up the great reactions!

If you like stuff about the Bronx so much you would probably love "A Bronx Tale" (1993), a movie that based on true events.

Something to understand about the Ducky Boys is a) they were very catholic irish b) the history of irish oppression in nyc. Did you not recognise Karen Allen ? (Raiders Lost Ark/ Sandlot)
@tempsitch5632
@tempsitch5632 8 ай бұрын
From the internets: According to Richard Price's book (and movie) The Wanderers (1979 film), The Ducky Boys were "stunted Irish madmen, none of them over 5 foot 6". They were also portrayed as soul-less killers who never said a word. For many Bronxites, the Ducky Gang was one of those mythical gangs that many people heard of, but not many people saw. I have heard references to them as "the Boogeymen of the Bronx" - where everyone was afraid of them, but nobody ever saw them... Most of the Ducky Boys and Ducky Girls that I have spoken to get quite a kick out of those portrayals of them. The Ducky gang were quite human - they weren't all short, they weren't all Irish, they weren't killers, and many of them have no problems speaking up. The Duckys are a group of many whose main turf was Norwood, Bronx and in places like the New York Botanical Garden and Bronx Park near French Charlie's field, specifically the Balcony at E 204th off Webster Ave, The Tunnels (under Theodore Kazimiroff Blvd), Twin Lakes, and PS 46 schoolyard. They were big in the area from their young start at the "Duck" Pond (Twin Lakes in Botanical Gardens) in the early 60's to their eventual fading out circa 1972. Over the years many kids passed through the Ducky Boys. Sadly not all of them grew up and they will forever be known as the "Lost Boys of the Bronx". There were a few things people found out if they were unlucky enough to get on the bad side of the Ducky's - They were great with slingshots, and there were a LOT of them. The one thing that most say the Wanderers got right was that when they fought, there were usually huge numbers. They were also a fiercely loyal bunch of friends that always believed "Hurt one of us, Hurt us all" As of late-2007, there is a documentary on the real Ducky Boys gang in production. It is being directed by James Hannon and is scheduled to be released in early 2008

@@bretcantwell4921 The Ducky Boys were also a real life gang who got there name because their main turf included the duck pond within the Bronx Botanical Gardens. Ace Frehley from Kiss was also a Ducky Boy junior member during it's later yrs and Dion Dimucci (the singer of the Wanderers theme song) was also a member of The Fordham Baldies. But they had hair in real life lol (they were named after the American Bald Eagle).

The Wanderers and Full Metal Jacket is in the same universe. Let me explain , the character Stitch in this movie and the character called Eightball in Full Metal Jacket are the same character. In Full Metal Jacket Stitch got drafted to fight in Vietnam and his call name was given Eightball. He still lead men , because he was a natural leader as we saw in The Wanderers. The Wanderers was set in 1963 and I'm guessing Full Metal Jacket was set a few year's later.

Halloween is coming up so here is some old school Horror/Sci/Fi movies to react to for the month of October. If you watch “It, The Terror From Beyond Space” think of Alien. If you watch “The Last Man On Earth” think of “The Omega Man,”and “I am Legend.” If you watch “The Blob” think of “X The Unknown.” For a triple feature watch these British films in order: “The Quatermas Experiment,”- AKA “The Creeping Unkown,” “Enemy From Space,” and lastly “Quatermas And The Pit.” And finally for just cheesy sci-Fi horror fun, checkout “ The Fiend Without A Face.” In any case, have some spooky- creepy fun. 😎👍
