One thing to remember when listening to Geoff- unless you see another person, every vocal you hear will be his. Geoff and his wife, Kathy, have a love that is Life Goals. She is an intergral part of his work, being his production manager as well as (no doubt) his muse. She's right there with him, running cameras, during set-up and teardown (the two of them are frequently the only crew on Geoff's videos- like this one, actually) and offscreen she handles a lot of costume and site sourcing, his calendar--- and this is while doing the exact same job for VoicePlay (the a cappella group Geoff sings with) *and* handling all of VoicePlay's live engagements. Kathy is an amazing person, just like Geoff. But in a sad tragedy, Kathy suffers from hearing loss (the two of them made a video about it on Geoff's channel), so the one person closest to him can't hear him like we do. But dat bass!!! I know she feels it. 💞

Geoff and his group VoicePlay are the sweetest, most genuine and adorkable bunch of guys that you'll ever meet, and that mirrors their fan base. ❤❤ I'm glad you got a friendly welcome from us Geoff/VoicePlay fans. There's the odd one out, but we're usually a very friendly bunch 🥰🥰

Just so you know, you don't need to filter Geoff's videos. He isn't with any recording company so the work is all his own. There is a quality to his voice that is pretty special. He can make your bones shake, even when quiet. :) And hs arrangements are mind bending. And as others have said, he is his own back up singers, and musician. All the music is produced by Geoff. And all the singing. It's all Geoff. :) And his fans are lovely as you say, because he is. Geoff has been married for many years to Kathy , who manages him and the group VoicePlay.

Geoff is so talented, that he arranges, edits, designs everything about his videos. His wife, Kathy, helps with many of the other things he doesn't do. He is one amazing human being. God has blessed him mightily. Of course, you probably know, Geoff is the bass singer for the a cappella group Voice Play. And, he has been arranging about half of their videos too. This has got to be a full time job. Also, since both Geoff and Voice Play are independent, they can only thrive through Patreon.

I'm glad you feel so welcomed by the Geoff and VoicePlay fandoms, and I agree that we are enthusiastically supportive and in general try to promote an attitude of positivity rather than thinking that we have to tear someone else's work down in order to build our personal favorites up in comparison I never had the slightest interest in joining any Patreon until I stumbled upon VoicePlay and therefore Geoff a little more than two years ago, and am so glad I decided to become a patron for both. It makes me feel good to help such talented people pursue their musical careers and, believe me, they do incredible perks for their fans. Hope you continue to explore Geoff's work and also check out VoicePlay as well. I'm sure you'll get plenty of suggestions from others, so I'll just say that both Geoff and VoicePlay's motto is 1) If all you're going to do with your cover of a song is a paste and copy version of the original, you have no reason to do it, people may as well just go and listen to the original, but 2) Don't go so avant garde with your arrangement that no one can even recognize it, then you're just being different for the sake of being different. Truely a hauntingly beautiful cover...I am in awe of how talented Geoff is. This cover has brought me to tears so many times. it hits so hard. Geoff brings such depth, sadness and a sort of resignation to this song. Great reaction. Jut to let you know, Geoff and Voiceplay videos do not need to be covered or anything. Geoff's cover of Wicked Game is probably going to be my favorite of his for a long time - I generally love all of his work, but the grizzly bear growls/lion's purr/ whatever you want to call it is one of my favorite sounds on earth and I can't get enough of it!

Isn't it amazing when a group can continually surprise us. They are not afraid to try any style of music and each time offer the listeners something new and unexpected. Welcome back! 🙂 Geoff started his solo channel when the pandemic stopped all touring activity for Voiceplay, the a cappella group he sings in. He decided that what he does in his solo channel wasn't going to be a cappella ("If I'll do something a cappella, that'll be with Voiceplay", he said... Or something of the like 😁), and I believe he started with a Halloween song: "The Headless Horseman". I may be wrong, I'm going by memory now, and my memory isn't even close to what it used to be 🙂. Speaking of Halloween, last Halloween he released his version of "Jack's Lament", from "Nightmare before Christmas", and it's a beauty. 🙂 He has a very nice, kinda subtle sense of humour, which I deeply appreciate. And Voiceplay has as well. Geoff and Voiceplay are kind, funny, generous, authentic human being, beside being incredibly goos artists. Their fan base appreciates these qualities, and tends to share them. 🙂 As may of us told you in our comments under "I see fire", ALL voices and male characters in Geoff's videos are just him, the exception being "Mele Kalikimaka" which features a female group called "The American Sirens". His wife Kathy makes a cameo in another of his Halloween videos, "Monster Mash". 🙂 He even has a few videos on his channel in which he teaches how to sing REALLY LOW, sharing the basics of his techniques. He works a whole lot to improve his singing, both on the lower and the higher range, and it shows in his voice... ❤. See you next time!

I know it's been said by others, but it's true: you can pick just about ANYTHING in Geoff's or VoicePlay's extensive catalog of music, and love what you hear. The best part of them being 100% independent, free from the control & limitations of any record labels is that they have absolute freedom to explore whatever the hell they want musically. What I’ve noticed about geoff and Voiceplay’s fanbase is we seek out new reactors because we want to see how people react to them. Many of the people who are watching this reaction you’re going to find are already his fans. We know what to expect from the song. We don’t know what to expect from the reactor. You also rewind a bit which is helpful because the song isn’t all chopped up that way. He provides his own back up singers, and we usually see them. You saw them in I See Fire although they weren’t easily recognizable because they of the hair pieces and beards. As far as I can remember, there are only three where we only see one Geoff. This, High and Dry and Sound of Silence are the only full videos with only one Geoff shown. His minis only show one Geoff but I think they are only one track. You will find that we are a pretty friendly bunch, and most of us are also huge VoicePlay fans. I was really excited to see in the comments that you already covered one of their songs. It’s probably a good thing you covered one of their nontheatrical songs to begin with. When you get a chance go out and check out one of their more theatrical pieces to see why they are called the “theatrical kids of a capella” . Two of my favorite theatrical ones are Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and Dragonborn/ Skyrim.

Glad the community gave you a nice welcome - both Geoff and his group VoicePlay have a great fan base! This song reminds me a lot of Geoff's cover of The Rains of Castamere from GoT - his lead stays down in the basement for nearly the entire song, while the "clones" (who didn't make a visual appearance in this song, but do appear in RoC) cover the higher parts. And yes, it still feels a little weird to talk about the clones as separate creations, because they're all just Geoff!

Geoff is also a very down to earth and considerate person! Geoff is also the backup singers! Every voice you hear is Geoff! His wife's name is Kathy. Unfortunately, she is losing her hearing!😢

I'm so glad that you're having such a positive response from the fans. Geoff is a polite gentleman, and he attracts polite fans. Many of us are fans of other acapella groups, and while there is sometimes friendly rivalry about which bass is lowest, we all enjoy promoting each other. HomeFree, Voctave, Straight No Chaser, we just love acapella. No competitions, just musical talent. Pause as much as you want. We LOVE to see the reactions, and Geoff blows everyone away. You mentioned his wife being lucky. She totally is! They met singing at Universal Studios. I believe he played Frankenstein and she was (appropriately) the Bride of Frankenstein, haha! What a "how I met your mother" story! Sadly, she began to lose her hearing and had to retire from the stage. Not from loud music, just genetic. He has a video up about her hearing loss. I don't know if you want to react to something non-musical, but I found that video so inspiring. Their love for each other is GOALS, and it's a good lesson in compassion, loyalty, and dedication to one another. My husband is going through hearing loss, and he's only 44. (In his case, it's music related; we both play in a jazz band and being near the drum set without ear protection is dangerous.) It's stressful, but then I think, Geoff and Kathy got through it! He also has a touching video about how they struggled to have a child. Through all these hardships, he's still positive, upbeat, quirky, and that kid has the sweetest parents ever. His son appears, appropriately, in their video "Daddy Sang Bass." Also his wife appears in videos now and then. She is featured in "Golden Hour." That's such a sweet song. Highly recommended.

As folks have said, it's all him unless you see someone else. Far as I remember, the only music vid on Geoff's channel where he used actual backup singers was Mele Kalikimaka, with The American Sirens as guests. (The cover was based on the Bing Crosby / Andrews Sisters version.)

We are a loving bunch of oddballs in the best possible way. I don't think I've ever come across a rude VP/GC fan. We love our boys fiercely but politely haha. We are a very supportive bunch when it comes to reactors too. We love seeing people being introduced to this world and will continue to support and subscribe to reactors who genuinely enjoy them and get why we love them so much. nerd out moment rn the "natural reverb" you hear in his voice is because when you make your voice deeper (or have a natural deep voice) your vocal cords shorten and thicken so when they move (when you sing or talk) they vibrate each other so the lower you go the more vibration (reverb) you hear and im someone who is working on my vocal range and you feel the vibration just as much as you hear it its so fascinating to me that it sounds exactly like it feels lol
