@Kiara Ferreira She has the air of Knowing! the way she is defiant, the way she holds her ground, you can't lie to this kid even the little one! My son used to scare his mom because by three yrs old he was too smart for his mom too fool, he had been talking by 1 1/2 yrs and figuring thing out on his own so by two we were having pretty good conversations with him. he is an AP Student all his life.

Absolutely agree with all the comments on this thread. That older girl has likely learned repeatedly in dealing with these parents that they are callous, cavalier, manipulative & happy to hurt, confuse, gaslight, lie to & depress their children -- for no valid or meaningful reason whatsoever.

My dad at one point took me and my sister to look at puppies and we ended up not getting one for no specific reason but we weren’t upset because we didn’t get one and he surprised us with one of them later that day and I think surprises like that are fine but on the other hand, the children being physically distressed and saddened because of it is way different and unacceptable.

This was EXACTLY how me and my brother acted 13 years ago when we got a dog. eventually, we got to our parents and we got the dog. years later, our parents thanked us because they really love the dog and realize we wouldnt have gotten it without me and my brother. the dog was unique, very chill, extremely small, playful, loved the couch, made a great lapdog.

Imagine this dog lives a long and happy life. Many of the highlights of the dog's and children's lives are recorded by mom and dad, just like this moment. They grow older together. Then, as life dictates, the dog passes. Mom and dad put together a video of the dog's life for the now college bound girls to the sound of music (Yesterday? What a Wonderful World? Somewhere Over the Rainbow? IDK) and...at the end...the music goes off...and the family watches this scene , day #1 when this beautiful puppy entered their lives. I’m not sure how they do it, but our pets capture our hearts. They bring us comfort and peace. Life isn’t the same after we bring them home. After they’re gone they take a piece of our hearts with them.❤

Girls her age probably don't know how to express that they "felt a connection" and can't form complex thoughts in moments of intense emotion. If she was calmer, she probably would have said something like "I'm sad about not getting him because it felt like he really loved me" instead of "How can you not get a puppy that's adorable?" To her, "cuteness" probably encompasses personality too; given the inability to think logically like an older kid or an adult would.

As much it pained me to see these two little girls cry, the mother was correct in questioning her girls' commitment to this pup. Yes puppies are adorable, but just like a child, they require a lifetime commitment to their care and yes, happiness. Good job mom and dad and yes, that pups is adorable.
