Thankfully that chip in the windshield wasn't too bad and was fixable. Chris, you kill me (Leslie) with the filming Katrina without her knowing 😂. We do the tank cleaning every year! We always get a better grade on the black tank as well, lol. Great job guys!

Stone chip! That was our welcome into Florida this year, too! Food has gotten so expensive both at restaurants and cooking in the RV. We are definitely eating out less than we used to. Really good information from Kleen Tank too!

Oh man!! Rock chip We know the pain!!! Going through Virginia, a dump truck pulled out in front of us on I-95, and as hard as I tried to get away from him, we both hit a bump in the road and a rock came our way... I got lucky because it only left a minor chip and didn't leave any cracks... Jeff and Tina are great and really know their stuff. Congrats on the new family addition and good luck on the road home!! We are not full time but we have been taking 6+ week trips the past 3 years since retiring. I make up meals and freeze them in Foodsaver bags. That way we have homemade foods on the road. So when you two cook something that has a lot of leftovers, you could freeze a meal for later. Just my tip to you. We do eat out but only a few times per trip for some place special. Can’t wait to see your prep, plan and actual trip to Alaska! I’ve watched other channels who seem to have done a lot of prep. Good Luck!💜

We also cook for a couple of day at a time. We have chosen to cut out meat in our diet all the weekdays. It safes us a lot of money. We will go out and eat like a hamburger or so during the weekend if we feel like it. It has really saved us a lot of $$$$$ that we can spend on fun things. I so enjoy your videos a lot.

Sorry about your window being cracked. Those trucks are suppose have a cover over the ricks. One hit my car out here in Vegas. Thank goodness I didn’t have a crack and yours wasn’t damaged worse. How’s Safelite? I love their commercial. We do that do mage an enough food to last a few days. Eating out is expensive. Congrats on having another grand baby being born. You both look too young to be grand parents. Have a safe trip. Glad your tanks got tested approval of having good tanks. Now you can hit the road with your tanks clean. Have a safe trip. Thank you. It's been our second window in the past 4 years. Guess it could be worse. The Safelite tech did a great job and we are very happy with the results. If we have to make larger portions and eat the same thing for a few days it's all good. It sure beats being so stressed about going over the budget. Thanks for the compliment. You are gonna love Alberta & British Columbia on the way to Alaska. Yukon prob not so much. The Alaska highway is something you will never forget. Grand babies are a great reason to head back to Maryland. We became Grandparents last October. Cheers 🍻‼️

LOL, My wife would have knocked me out... With the windshield, what insurance do you have. We had a chip, called insurance, safelight came out and filled, no charge. We had a nice crack coming back from our Tampa trip this year that requires a replacement. That's going to cost us our deductible. Congratulations on the new grand baby !! Can't wait to see the Alaska adventures. I love travel days too !! Love the video of you crossing the Bay Bridge !!

Let's just say he may or may not have some burses. 🤣 We have Nation Wide that covered everything so nothing out of pocket. Replacing the windshield is the worst! Sorry you guys had to go through that. OMG, the grandbabies are the best. Getting ready to start our trip towards Alaska next week. Such great memories of crossing the Bay Bridge growing up. Yes we cook..but only eat it for 2 days..extras go into the freezer with a date on it..love taking precooked chili out and having it later...

When it comes to glass they tell you we will send someone at no cost. That part is true, after that it gets reported to NEXUS. The you take a chance of higher rates.

I like to go to new places too. I just get very nervous about breaking down. With more experience that may get better. So I tend to agree with stay in place for a few days and short 2 hour travel days. Thank for sharing your journey. Safe travels back to Maryland.

Yes, that is the plan. The market is just terrible for sellers so we will keep both. It may work our in our favor as we can have our family travel with us on some of our adventures.

Fingers crossed the windshield holds up. Thinking the trip to Alaska is going to force me to cook more. OMG, he told me he took it out before he released it! That's okay, I'm now on a mission to catch/record him scratching himself or something.🤣🤣 I may just have to pull over every so often just to irritate him.🤪😂

OH NO! Not a stone chip to the windshield. Generally insurance will have it filled if it's less than the width of a dollar bill. As far as those dump trucks go....a couple of years ago, one took off our rear awning on our 5th wheel as we were headed toward Lake Tahoe on US 50. He was merging onto the freeway and got too close to us where his driver's side mirror took out the rear awning. We had to stop and wire tie the awning to the awning tube for the duration of our trip and needless to say, we couldn't use that awning until we got it replaced. On the tank issue; I dump about 3-4 ounces of Simple Green down the drains (grey tanks) the night before we depart our camp and flush out with hot water. The Simple Green just helps break down any grease that may be in the grey tanks and makes it smell good too. Good luck and safe travels. Hope to see you guys in Napa Valley later in the year.

Yes, our insurance took care of the cost to fill the chip. Hopefully you were able to get reimbursed from the trucking company to fix your awning. Will have to try your Simple Green hack. The windshield should be an easy repair under 150 bucks we had ours repaired last year .

What was cost of flushing both tanks? Not clear about the timing you mention, do you plan on being at Tampa RV show 2025 (and coming to the beach condo)??

The cost was right around $300.00 for both tanks. No Florida for us winter of 2025 unless something changes. We will be out west in the Arizona area next winter.
