My Green Jade tank has exploded with babies! You need to remove the lower grade shrimp to keep the colony at a high grade of colour, especially with neocaridina! Check out this quick video on how I grade and cull my shrimps!

Sooo I cull pretty hard and have a cull tank And many (not all but a good amount) of the green jade that I culled ended up being a beautiful dark green colour at full-size 😊 these shrimp are devious little buggers lol.

Ya I noticed that haha. 2 of the "culls" are actually pretty high grade now (filmed this 2 weeks ago), and berried! Lol

@@BobMossNanoTanks I started with 10, it’s been 12 days now and I have a berried female🙂 so hopefully I will see shrimplets at some point, mine have mystery snails and ramshorn snails with them, I hope they leave them alone.

roughly 4 weeks after you see the eggs, you should start seeing some babies :)

Great video! Can you shed any light on the difference between Jade and Emerald? I thought Jade had the yellow stripe in top and Emerald were solid dark green but then these look like emeralds. Colour names are so confusing 😅

I guess the emerald would be more opaque than the jade. Tbh neocaridina naming is pretty convoluted and depends greatly on the breeder and / or seller.

Are your cull tub parameters the same as your other tank parameters? If so your acclimating process can be much much quicker😉. Mine are so close I usually just have my cull shrimp in a large cup to drip over 15 minutes 😁. And yes I test every time before I do this to be sure.

If you use heaters rather than heating the room do you need a heater in the bucket to acclimate?

I would recommend it, but if you drip the new water back in you don't HAVE to, as it enters the tank so slow it gets heated up as it drips.
