Thank you for the video Bud. Very well explained. I love the inserts into the coils to increase tension. Has COC improved over the last 10 yrs. Just curious cuz 2 of mine snapped and I bought some heavy grips but not the same. Anyway we’ll done.

I think ironmind are at the top of their game with grippers these days. Certainly better than heavy grips and the other chinese spring brands. The highest quality grippers available are the standard grippers by cannon powerworks. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

Thanks dubya, one of the best videos I've seen on grip training. One question about the choked gripper, are the holes basically drilled with a tapped bit? Threaded to allow easy removal? Cheers

I learn something new every day, Dog leg straight leg. Question! If you had no grippers to use and wanted the greatest hand strength crushing gains what other options would you recommend? I'm trying to get on the GM150 100kg+ leaderboard for USA. Thank you!

Thick handles like axle barbells, inch dumbbells, little big horn, fbbc jugs, fat gripz, etc., Rotating implements are also good...Rolling thunder, country crush raptor, napalm nightmare, etc.,

I started grippers a few day ago as my first step in a training plan as I've had an office job for the last few years and end up skinny fat at 188cm/98kg. I had pretty major surgery on the ligaments and tendons of my left thumb a few years ago and never did the rehab properly. Turns out my left hand is a joke. I only have COC 1, 1.5 and 2. Managed to close the 1 and 1.5 first try with my right hand but the left couldn't close any of them. Left hand can only manage 100lb x 4 on a cheap gripper. Should I focus on bringing the left hand back first, or just keep going with both and hope they even out eventually?
@dubyagrip
@dubyagrip 4 ай бұрын
There's no reason to neglect either hand. Train them both! Great question!! I wish you well in your training and other fitness goals.

Try the grip genie brand, if you haven't already. They have smaller handles and narrower spreads.

What’s wrong with gripzilla
@dubyagrip
@dubyagrip 2 ай бұрын
There's nothing necessarily wrong with them, but the narrow handle spread is not as effective as the wider spreads found on Ironmind, Tetting, GHP, and Standard grippers. They also use the same spring has grip genie, powerball, and heavy grips, so you're paying for pretty handles is all.

@@dubyagrip thanks for the response brotha! Regarding this videos scope, at what weight would you use a filed gripper in comparison to your goal gripper? Would you use a filed gripper for your warm ups leading up, or drop sets? Etc
@dubyagrip
@dubyagrip 5 ай бұрын
@mikemosher4240 filed grippers increase the spread width and extend the range of motion required to close. They'll enhance your closing power and make non-filed grippers feel easier. For example, I used a filed 171 RGC gripper in my workouts when targeting 182 RGC for my 3.5 cert attempt. I train very low volume, so i wouldn't do more than 1 or 2 reps. This is a long winded way of saying you'll want your filed gripper to be a bit easier than your goal gripper.
