Can you believe we have been living on boats for more than 3,000 days?! Today we bring you with us for three days of boat life as we spend all daylight hours on the move because it is time to finally head SOUTH to the sunshine and warm weather. We are SO READY to get back to spending time IN the warm water diving, surfing, winging, spearfishing and the only thing standing in our way is ~1,000 miles and whatever mother nature throws our way.

Just for the record.. that tug pushing the barge, we call that a CBD/CBE which is a cover top empty.. Empty barge that is 195/200' X 35' wide. Source: I work with them daily as a lock operator. lol

You guys are making homesick anchoring at New Point Comfort. Grew up in Gloucester Point, Va, right across from Yorktown, 5-7 mile your anchoring spot. And was born in Williamsburg, Va. My dad was a marine biologist working VIMS at the time.

Great Video as always. You guys make it look so easy. New boat looks like it sails like a dream!. The "stubby little boats" you see at minute 16:25 are Great Harbour Trawlers, made in Gainesville Fl. the smaller of the 2, Act II, is a GH37, 37' LWL, 16' beam, 3' draft, twin diesels. the other C Marie, is a GH 47, same exact mold is used but they put in a 10' extension. Lazy Days, my boat, is a GH 37. My boating buckett list includes seeing Tula on the water , of course sharing a margarita on back deck, maybe telling some sea stories, letting Jetty and Cookie and Cooper play on the beach. Glad to see Siera giving those fishing rods some much needed love to keep em working. Keep up the good work.

From Captain Bill to designated dishwasher. Washing dish's is pretty gravy work compared to hard boat labor work. Captain Bill now has more time to do other things like lounging around having a beer finding beach side restaurants with steak & lobster specials.

My backyard! I have been learning to sail out of Manteo. ("Man- Tee- oh" Local dialect is "MAN-E-O") In the Roanoke Island and the Albermarle sounds. Very rich history, which i suspect you will see some in the daylight next video. BTW- That channel is tight and everyone bumps!

That dinghy is a Boston Whaler Squall!! Funny, my son and I talked to you two at the Annapolis Sailboat show and mentioned we had just finished restoring one for him! He is having a blast with it.

So 5-6 knots is the correct trolling speed for strippers. This is the time of year that the larger strippers are migrating back up the bay and rivers to spawn. They are north during the summers. Generally the water temp determines whether or not they will turn up into the bay or stay off the outer banks during the winter. It helps to have a couple of rigs. One about 20-30’ back from the boat and another about 75’ back. They like some color a, (A skirt around the spoon).

Dare Island North Carolina is where the first English baby was born in America. Sir Walter Raleigh was behind the settlement. The girl's name was Dare but the Queen had him arrested for marrying her bridesmaid without her permission. He brought potatoes to the Irish and to thank him the royals had him beheaded. Then came the Pilgrims looking for freedom from the royals.

Fun fact. Black beards ship the Queen Ann’s revenge ran a ground in Beaufort, North Carolina. They actually have an entire museum dedicated to him. Over the last couple years they have been pulling parts of his ship out of the water. So cool you guys were off our coast. I currently live in Wilmington NC.
