HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.

Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don't always put a positive spin on humans\humanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

This reminds me of a story about King Edward I of England who made a powerful siege weapon (trebuchet) and wanted to test it out on a city he was trying to conquer. But before that could happen the city surrenders. He rejected the surrender and ordered the siege weapon to be used. He rejected the enemy surrender just so he could test his new toy.

@@AgroSquerril sorry to hear that. Well people like your voice too much. But I think they would understand you being unwell or in recovery and trying to make the voice they love better by doing so. So that there are still content after the surgery. But some people just hate change more then the different voice. Love the tales form other space, or crazy humans. Well I wish you a great recovery.

I kinda like the Glorp, i'd like to get one of them drunk, then have a wee taste. That escalated fast! Just because there is a difference of opinion, there 's no cause to start throwing mini nukes around. Vile things, fission bombs. Youi know the damage at Hiroshima? That was caused by one kilo of Uranium. YEP! One Kilo ! That was all the uranium that underwent fission. US military had loaded something like sixty five kilos of it, from which only one did any immediate damage. The rest got spread out poisoning everything.

Or to put it in more neutral terms, the bomb on Hiroshima converted a mere 0.7 grams of matter into energy. As for your statement of 1 kilogram, you might want to check your facts. The bomb used 64 kilograms of Uranium. Of that 64 kg, only 1 kg of the Uranium underwent fission. And as I mentioned earlier, the mass actually converted was 0.7 grams.

I don’t like stories like this. The idea of humanity collectively disarming them selfs as an ack of humility is absolute unrealistic. Not just from a military stand point but from an ethical and economical stand point. I don’t mean to criticize the writers work, and I know he wants to tell a story. But it’s painfully clear the writer has a vary unrealistic view of human nature.

@@VulpisFoxfire I know they didn’t disarm them self in this story, im talking about other ones, The principal is the same thou. I get that in these HFY stories humanity is sopose to be the good guys. But there is making us protagonists and there is making us unrealistically ritchious. Humanity will never collectively agree on anything, even with a unified world government. That leads to another gripe about these stories. Why is it humanity is almost always portrayed as United when we get to space? Only three nation have actual space programs and they all hate one another. Real human expansion into space would look more like border lands.
