Early 1930s animation was inspired by black-faced minstrel performers of the time and the white gloves are a remnant of that vaudevillian style of dress. Not racist on its own but has its roots in some gross depictions of black people. I personally love the white gloves as a purely aesthetic choice. Also having 4 fingers is cheaper but also bigger fingers are easier for the audience to observe and having 4 means you have more room to make the fingers bigger and easier for the audience to see

i don't hate how he laughs, or even that he is laughing. its that he laughs WHEN THERE ISN'T EVEN A JOKE. its like that guy at the party that forces out nervous laughter every single time there is a pause in a conversation.

It's because joints are slightly harder to animate and when you're drawing every frame by hand that shit adds up. Same reason all the hanna-barbera protagonists didn't have necks.
