It's a very sneaky thing sometimes, isn't it! It's only 5 dollars, 10 dollars....nickel and diming, but it all adds up. Thanks for sharing. 🌻

When are you due? Are you able to work extra hours at work or a side hustle until the baby comes so that you can get your expenses lower? Can you sell other things that you aren’t using? Not sure if or how soon that you are planning to return to work after leave. I remember a ladies returning from maternity leave (some early) and crying at their desks for days or weeks because they needed the additional income. One specific lady told me that she wished that she hadn’t moved in such a large home because they had a large mortgage and utilities plus two car payments and student loans to pay. She said if she and her husband didn’t work, they couldn’t afford groceries. Eating out and vacations were out because of the cost of daycare. This was in 2005.

Good advice the best budget move I made is I reverse budget. I treat my savings as a bill that I pay myself every month instead of trying to save what's left after I pay my other bills.

Unfortunately most people in America think paying their bills on time is all they need to do which is sad saying things like I don’t have enough isn’t on my mind I have to save something each payday in 2023 my husband & I had to fix our transmission now what if I wasn’t in the habit of saving a miner emergency could of been worst

I'm driving a 2011 no car note. I am ready to upgrade to something nicer, but hesitant about getting a car note. 🥴.

I think a car note is fine as long as it fits into your “fun” budget and does not require you to stop saving as much money or to struggle more.

Since you don’t have a car note, save the money of the car, then go get it🎉

This is why Im concerned about buying a house/getting a mortgage. Because that’s a huge financial sacrifice and currently we have no loans or debts.

Happy Saturday! I'm not sure how accurate I am but another channel suggested how to determine your savings rate and debt to income. Based on 2023 numbers my savings rate last year was 20.34% and debt to income was 24.43%. My concern is I had been fortunate to have 3 straight years of 30 hours/wk OT. This has now been drastically reduced and no guarantee going forward.
