Would've never bought this beautiful gem had it not been for this review. Thanks a lot for putting up this review and explaining the significance of this watch. Janata MLM is a truly special watch, being a student of computer science and engineering I hold this watch in very high regard.

This is my favorite variant among Janata. I believe HMT made this to commemorate Y2K and another event that happened (mostly co-incidental but relatable) was inauguration of ITPL on Jan 1st, 2000 by then CM SM Krishna. Proudly wore it on 1st Jan 2020 at ITPL Whitefield.

I own janta passed down to my family after my grandfather and recently got 90s pilot aswell and I just love the mechanism the finish and that vintage charm and I still flaunt it people are still curious to know what's the history and I am glad that make in India concept should be common and bring back hmt.

Hi Roshan ....i am looking for a vintage watch ...HMT Janata/Pilot ...however both these watches are not in stock. I checked on Amazon and there is some seller selling these watches for 10,000 RS !! As suggested i will visit the HMT website more frequently.

@@manishmamidi5289 search for hmt groups in fb. There are various groups related to hmt and other indian watches. Search for hmt watch collectors group, hmt watch brotherhood, indian watch forum, etc. Explore these groups. You will definitely get what u want. But all groups do not allow watch deals.

Though all the plants have been shut, they are more like assembling with whatever stock they have of cases, dials, hands, etc. So some new innovated models have also surfaced.
