I work the night shift so i catch my kohinoor moving from 1 day to the next. For a brief 2-3 hours from 1-3 AM the day will not read in English. Instead it will read in Spanish. I have tried googling it and i haven't found out why this happens. Anyone know why this is the case?

Dear Sir, Thank you for this useful information. I am a fan of Mechanical watches. I recently got Janata with orange dial. Only one piece I found in a watch repair and seller shop which has been there for more than 40 years. It does not have "INDIA" printed. It has serial number 4 17 048 on it. Thinking this is not genuine and may not have 'HMT's own Calibre's movement. This type is sold online by other e-commerce Companies. For information, there are only few Companies around the World making their own movements. Proudly HMT is one of them. Also one more thing, my Dad is retired HMT employee. He is 70 years old now. Wears his 42+ year old Janata with black dial daily. Believe me, spring replaced only once from HMT showroom and overhauled. Still running good. Hats off to the quality maintained by HMT. It does not have INDIA printed on it. It is a genuine HMT watch purchased from the Company showroom at Jalahalli. I am thinking this information will help others. Kindly buy from HMT website only or from Company showroom. No stock of hand would watches currently. Also have an 'HMT Sourab Premium' automatic gifted by my brother in law 😊

Excellent video. Last month I visited this place. HMT is awesome. It needs better management. If I were CEO of HMT my goal will be to make every one leaving india after a visit buy a mechanical or automatic HMT watch before they depart. As for Local customers I will give them an opportunity to name the watch after their own name. I will print their name on the dial and give it to them. The museum is a gem sadly it has poor footfall.

One of my hmt tareeq is not working and the key is full nofurther movement of the key. How to release the watch and making to good condition. Pl. Note that there is no such mechanics for machine watch. Pl.do help. I am a Instrument Engineer. I hope i can understand mechanism. Tools also not available.

At this day when I am writing this comment if u have ability to sell this watch smartly u can sell some rare pilot like this green one for more than 10k or even 20k

Remember that the margin, even if they are only making a few dollars on each watch translates much better to someone on India. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The mass production happens, they make the money right away and they are not selling them. From my visit to India i realized that my $100 goes so much further in India than anywhere else I have traveled.

So another thing I have noticed about this model, the franken version has a slightly tilted font at the 6 hour mark. I feel like this is the biggest giveaway. Where as the original it's closer to straight. In fact, the 5, 6, and 7 hour markers have a tilt to them where as the original on the left are straight vertically. I have a franken version unfortunately. Paid $35 US for it 😠 I've never noticed the hyphen.

My hmt stops running when worn on wrist but works fine when not worn and kept aside...also when winding the watch anti clockwise the seconds hand stops but starts once the time is set but the seconds hand does not stop when winding in clock wise direction... What could be the problem?

Very Informative video, one question though - does HMT still sell Janata watches?

Hi i recently bought a hmt watch.. I wound it in clockwise direction and stopped when it offered resistance.. Once it stopped ticking after about 15-16 hours I tried to wind it forward again but it offered resistance at the first wind so I hesitated to wind it further.. Please advise what do I do in such a situation.. Also can you tell how can I completely unwind the watch before winding it from scratch without resistance
