Yeah, maternal mortality rates were nowhere near 50%. That’s absolutely ludicrous. I found several studies looking at baptism records in England between the late 1500s and 1700, and estimates range from 1-3%. Elsewhere in Europe estimates are the same. You could argue things would have been worse farther back in history, but given germ theory wasn’t widely accepted until well into the late 1800s, I would hazard a guess that these rates were probably fairly consistent throughout time.

I am kinda glad I never got into game of thrones

Anyone who complain about season 8 without complaining about Season 7 and even parts of Season 6, are lame. In season 7 the Writers broke the rules of the game because the decision was made to carry Cersei to the and manufacture Cersei vs Dany battle. In my opinion a Battle between Kingslayer and Dany made more sense or even an ideological battle between Tyrion and Dany. Cersei's storyline should have ended in season 6 but since she wasnt a Stark, they froze. I am sure if her name was Cersei Stark, D&D would have arranged the most brutal scene to get her killed. No part of Season 7 was good. People ate it up because they love the spectacle of Dotraki vs Lannisters.
