i just started Gemfibrozil 600 mg yesterday, so far no side effects, i pray i dont have any, they tried another statin and it gave me serious muscle pain, i thought i was going to die, i could hardly get up a flight of stairs, and no i am not overweight >>> 160 lbs 5'10 , 63 yrs old.

Just stopped taking Fenofibrate. I could barely stand the muscle aches in my hips,thighs and knees. Wasn’t sleeping. I was afraid I was going to fall or collapse. I have stage 3 chronic kidney disease. Read the side effects and it said muscle damage and kidneys are muscles. Pain was so bad I was up all night. Stopped taking it and feel so much better. Actually slept thru the nights. Didn’t have to get up several times with my kidneys. The side effects from medicines are real which I never believed. Maybe not for everyone but this was for me.

Lipoprotein lipase removes triglycerides from carrier lipoproteins such as chylomicrons and VLDL. It has no role in the beta oxidation of fatty acids.

Febofibrate is also a CYP inhibitor right? And also had about 135 drugs known to interact with. Gemfobrozil has about 100 drug interactions.

What does Mct stand for Example is coconut oil is a mct I’ve heard both that coconut oil is good and bad for those with high LDL levels so it’s hard to determine More research would be needed per individual

Well what did he suggest to prescribe due to this condition ⁉️ research and ask questions If it’s not that specific dr that diagnosed this... ask another any kind of questions....
