Great vid. I do have an issue with people who can't pronounce the words they are teaching. It's not "sta, ins" it's statins. And it's not "de(k)olitre" it's "de(s)olitre". No really issue just a pet peeve of mine.

So what you are saying is that Niacin lowers fat burning? But that's not why it's a vitamin, is it?

Inositol hexanicotinate most certainly improves your cholesterol. HDL goes up and LDL goes down. It also appears to help reduce homocysteine, free fatty acids and many markers of inflammation. :-)

Folic acid (5 mg) is another way of getting rid of the niacin flush. It appears to work better than aspirin and is healthier for you. Smaller doses of folic acid (0.5 mg) probably wouldn't work. Presumably there is some kind of metabolic bottleneck which requires folic acid to clear? :-)

Niacin has been known to spike liver enzymes in the first week or so... but then they drop down back into the normal range. Niacin has been known to spike blood glucose... but that also returns to normal after a few days: Niacin helps improve carbohydrate metabolism. 🙂

Inositol B3 is very good at reducing hypertension because it increases NO production. 🙂

The inositol version of niacin has a niacin molecule at each of the 6 corners. Enzymatic action breaks down the bond to the niacin releasing it. Inositol hexanicotinate is the most effective form of niacin because of this slow release mechanism. :-)

Good video. Statins are not a replacement for a diet low in saturated fat and regular exercise. Taking a pill won’t protect if your not doing these other things. Also drinking booze, smoking, high stress and a terrible diet won’t be offset by a statin. Aprox 60% of heart attacks are with people with normal cholesterol and/or on statins.

I think it’s amazing that these medication‘s are available if people have a genetic malfunction that causes these health concerns however, it’s not a replacement for eating a proper diet. Some people have this misconception that they can eat hamburgers and hotdogs and fried foods and do what they want, and all they have to do is take a pill, and it will magically protect them. The truth is it won’t -basically stop eating saturated fat foods and processed meats and eat a healthy diet and you don’t need to take a pill to fool yourself into believing you’re OK health wise while consuming a terrible diet.

Good video actually eating cholesterol can only raise cholesterol in a small way it is eating saturated fat that raises it.

So a phytosterol hyperabsorber would not benefit from zetia then - someone with variations in the SNPs for ABCG5 and G8 receptors? Fatigue, loose stool and nausea may be common but those are NOT small side effects. If you had those without the meds you would be trying to figure out WTH is wrong. HMG CoA reductase (mevalonate pathway) being disrupted also reduces production of MK4, geranylgeraniol and CoQ10. So perhaps doubling down on living better should prevail over meds.
