Today with World Bicycle Relief, we visited Chris to find out how the ownership of a Buffalo Bicycle has changed the way he is able to farm in rural Zambia.
As a dairy farmer, Chris needs to take his milk to the distribution centre twice daily after milking. The 4km journey would be almost impossible on foot, with a heavy 40 litre container full of milk.
Robust Buffalo Bicycles have made farming dairy cattle possible in the Palabana region of Zambia, where many farmers in the area rely on their Buffalo Bicycles day in, day out to get their produce to market.
When we arrived at the milk distribution centre along with the many other Buffalo Bicycles, the impact of the bicycles on this local farming community was clear.

That is all very impressing how a bike can change lifes. Such agood idea of GCN to take part and try to collect more money for such a wonderfull project. Respect Lloydy!! Work is completed faster, milk gets to collection centre on time so it doesn't spoil, meaning people who drink milk won't fall ill plus farmer is able to be paid more for getting more milk to collection centre, boosting economy and creating greater stability and consistency for farming communities who are able to continue their work and feed the nation. The power of cycling 🚴‍♂️

Bycicles are the most cheap and reliable way to get around, also to commute long distances.. they like 5 times faster than walking

.....or make Buffalo Bicycle Trailers and supply full carbon aero bikes. The trailer can be unhitched so you can go for a fast ride to capitalize on all that resistance training delivering the milk.

I think the cost of a trike would be almost double (or more) of a regular bike. Better, yes, but if it means 1/2 or 1/3 the bikes... I think it was an old Worksman tricycle that I've rode, it could handle a load and take the abuse. It had a huge work-box on the back (could fit 2 of those milk containers in it), and then my cousins and I would take turns pedaling (so tools in the box, and 2 passengers sitting on top). You could still get some pretty decent speed, and as kids, you know we liked to take turns a little to aggressive or go to the gravel and try to drift it. It was built like a tank, and even with all the weight, it still handled just fine. I'm sure it would cost a lot more, and not everyone would need one, but for some people they would be great.

If doesn't have a tap, then it's a (milk) churn. You can keep ashes or tea in an urn (separately of course).

10k views of this video. If each viewer gave £10, that'd be £100k to the charity. minus roughly 2k for the trip? I think that would be worth it for that exposure. I wouldn't have known about the charity if it wasn't for this vid. :)
